Most Overrated Classic Rock Albums
Just because someone gives an opinion on a album of " The Beatles " doesn't mean that he is a troll. This album is overrated for many things. First of all the cover design. Everybody is talking like this is an " out of this world " cover design. Truth is that the drawning is really ugly. Second, the music, the song " Taxman " isn't a great song ( for the era there were more great songs of the " freakbeat " type and certainly better songs than " Taxman " ). " Love you to ", " Here, there and everywhere ", " for no one ", " I want to tell you " are boring songs. " Yellow Submarine " and " Good day Sunshine " are childish ridiculous songs. " Tomorrow never knows ", " Eleanor Rigby " and " I'm only sleeping " and " She said, she said " are the only songs that are standing out. The rest is just ok without being exeptional. For a group like The Beatles you would have expected more but they didn't with this album. But of course " the Beatles fans " will NEVER agree on that and " trolling " everybody who don't agree with them and till they got the last word.
I can't listen to this record from beginning to end.
Master of Reality, Black Sabbath, Sabotage, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, Heaven and Hell, and Dehumanizer are all better than this album.
Master of Reality is 100.000 times better than this!
Black Sabbath 4 is their best album.
This is one of my least favorite Led Zeppelin albums. Not just because of the plagiarism, but also because a couple of the songs bored me. I always thought most of their albums that came after this one were much better.
This user is some kind of a guy that probably religiously listens to Jacob Sartorius and Justin Bieber screech.
So somekindofguy isn't allowed to have an opinion? Elitists everywhere.
Who the hell is Jacob Sartorius? And imagine, I'm not a fkin JB fan, I just don't like how everyone put this albums to the top tens, like this albums would be historical penetrations or what...
Revolver is the first Psychedelic Rock album? NO
Led Zeppelin IV is the first Hard Rock album? NO
Nevermind is the first Grunge album? NO
Paranoid is the first metal album? NO
Velvet Underground & Nico is the first protopunk album? NO
And then, what the hell deify everyone in these albums?
If You Want to Hear Real Great ALbums Then Listen to These:
Sonics-Here Are the Sonics, Black Sabbath-Master of Reality, Stooges-Raw Power, Dio-Holy Diver, Deep Purple-In Rock... 100 times best albums than these overrated and overplayed insignificant albums...
In short this album is 6 ground-break, stellar, tracks, 6 meh songs, and 6 absolutely awful tracks the Stones should never have recorded. Listen to it only for those 12 songs that are meh to amazing.
I have to agree with this one. I don't see the appeal behind this album.
Sticky Fingers is way better than this in my opinion
I agree that this album is overrated.
Only their first album is worth to listen. London Calling is indeed overrated. Sounds so mainstream for a so called punk band.
Would have worked better if it wasn't a double album - has a lot of filler.
Actually this album is pretty consistent except for Black country woman and boogi with stu
This is UNDERrated, not overrated. This is my favourite Led Zep Album!
This album is underrated to some extence. It was punk before punk, an inspiration for its time, later on (Pink Floyd), and even nowadays (Arctic Monkeys). However! It is sad that this album seems to be the only one most really knows about, besides their self titled album and how can you claim this to be their best work if you know nothing about their other stuff? Same goes with Nas (Illmatic)
They have other records as equally good, or at least on a note somewhat similar. One of my favourite bands of all time but gets so sick of just hearing about this one with them over and over. Same with the two most popular albums with Smashing Pumpkins. What about Adore?
Before I start, I must say that I love Queen, and I think this is one of their best albums. However, I do think it does get slightly overrated. While most of the tracklist is quite good, only two songs truly stand out, Bohemian Rhapsody & You're My Best Friend. The rest isn't as strong and there is some filler (Lazing On A Sunday Afternoon) as well as some utterly daft songs (I'm In Love With My Car in which Roger Taylor discusses the love for his automobile - seriously). The tracklist is somewhat uneven for an album this acclaimed and especially for Queen, who have delivered far more consistent LPs in their time. That's not to say it's a bad album though. Again, being overrated doesn't necessarily mean bad. It's still well produced, the track listing is still mostly good and I like how it is one of Queen's most diverse albums musically. There's hard rock, folk rock, piano ballads, love songs & gospel too. A very good album, even if it is slightly overrated.
My favorite album of all time, but that doesn't mean that bohemian rhapsody is overplayed to the death and you're my best friend isn't overrated
Of everything here, this one is the most drastically overrated, and also drastically overpraised and overplayed.
"The prophet's song" is merely underrated
This album is actually a very good listen, it's just that it's not as great as everyone else says.
The Beach Boys never made a good album.
Three songs are standing out, " Norwegian wood ", " Think for yourself " and " Run for your life ". The rest is indeed a little bit ( not completely ) annoying. Concidered as one of their best albums is a matter of fact overrated.
All the songs annoy me
Nobody on earth thinks this is the greatest album ever, except for the moms of the group members.
The reason that this album is so popular is that the song 'Marquee Moon' has a five minute guitar solo, so suck on that
Everybody thinks it's the greatest album ever, but it really isn't anything
@PetSounds no, maybe this album wasn't a commercial hit, but all of the critics are incredibly good 'bout this album, however the songs are very lame and mediocre.
" Funhouse " is from the second Stooges album and not included in " Raw Power ". " Search and Destoy " is the track that stands out on the " Raw Power " album. The rest is ok ( certainly not bad ) but the album as a whole is indeed a little bit overrated.
It's infleuntail, but I fealt that the whole album felt just really empty. funhouse has enough enegry to make it passable, but this is the most ovverated album I've heard so far.
Rush sucks. Real men kill themselves.
All sound tricks due to which this album was so highly appreciated at the time sound completely outdated now. Today, this is nothing more than an album of decent rock songs.
Great. Pink Floyd albums can't get to top 20.
