Top 10 Most Overrated Disney Characters

The Top Ten
1 Anna - Frozen Princess Anna of Arendelle is a fictional character who appears in Walt Disney Animation Studios' 53rd animated film Frozen.

I don't hate Anna but I wouldn't call her a character worth any merit since her personality is literally ripped from Rapunzel; cute, socially awkward, dorky.

Put Rapunzel and Elsa's faces together and there are differences. Elsa's iris is even distinct that Rapunzel's. But Elsa was more developed and more progressive in her origins. She's also legal, she's not a princess, she's a queen. Rapunzel and Anna are supposed to look cute like they're barely 18, but Elsa is 21, she's mature, she doesn't follow the standard princess roles because she's actually unique. So basically I don't think it's worth your time to be defending Anna because Elsa is clearly the better looking and well developed heroine.

Anna is an ungrateful brat. She was locked out and while she had no idea what was happening, it didn't give her a right to assume Elsa was cruel. She thinks too soon like when she thought Elsa and Kristoff were bad and Hans was good. In Frozen Fever, she becomes even more ungrateful and spoiled because she doesn't like anything she gets. Anna doesn't deserve the attention she gets. People like Kristoff and Elsa who tried saving Anna's life are so underrated but they are both heroes. Anna is just a selfish brat!

I am only voting to say that Anna is moe of an underrated character, who is a much better role model to little girls around the world! Whilst Elsa just runs away from home, sets a monster on Anna and even causes Anna to die and let's not forget Anna saved herself from staying frozen. Whilst Elsa did nothing.

People hate her because she is overrated. Don't blame her, it's not anyone's fault when almost everyone likes them. Being overrated doesn't mean it deserves so much hate.

2 Elsa - Frozen Queen Elsa of Arendelle is a fictional character who appears in Walt Disney Animation Studios' 53rd animated film Frozen.

Industrial noise sounds better to me than her voice and singing.

People bash Merida over nearly killing her mom but Elsa almost kills Anna and leaves at least 100 people at risk of starving or freezing to death. What does she do? Runs like a self centered coward. Some ruler she is. So you were sheltered and things got out of hand. I get that, but face the damn music. At least Merida knew she made a mistake and went to great lengths to fix it. Not only saving her mom but freeing the brother's soul that had been terrorizing the area.

Sorry Elsa but I have to press the vote button. Sorry but have you noticed she runs away from her mistakes rather than at least TRY to fix it and she pushes away everyone who tries to help. And before anyone tries to say that she was trying to save the kingdom. Watch the movie again. She was only tryng to save herself. I could go on and on about how Elsa is overrated but I will say this-an ice dress and powers don't convince me. Elsa is NOT a role model.

Seriously, people won't shut up about her, and ignore her sister. Example: they just came out with Elsa and Anna's new holiday dress. Anna had such a cute dress, while Elsa had ice Dress 3.0. But no Anna "looked like crap" while nobody will shut up about hers. I swear, they recolored it and added fluffy stuff on the top of it. But what did I expect? Elsa could wear rags, and Anna could wear a beautiful dress, and people will STILL think Elsa's is better

I mean come on can I say anything that hasn't already been said? Sure you can make an argument that she's a queen not a princess. But she's power and charter flaws.
All the adorkabidly of Anna plus all the struggle of a hero. She needs to find redemption. It's her constant goal to not give into her power, her Villny, dark side of the force.

3 Stitch - Lilo and Stitch

Needs to be #1. Disney has a lot of nerve to think that this obnoxious annoying freak is anywhere near Mickey, Donald, and Goofy's league.

If he was a star of a preschool show. People would hate him. He looks similar to unusual preschool characters.

Finally someone who agrees with me! My sister is nuts with stitch. I think he is very cute but sort of overrated.

Disney's alleged "REAL movie about sisters" was actually all about this guy.

4 Olaf - Frozen Olaf the Snowman is a character from the 2013 animated film Frozen, produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios.

Extremely annoying, cliche-but Disney doesn't care, he makes fun plush toys for the little ones! This bastard... Is everywhere.

He made a rather okay Disney movie into something good! I like him!

He's stupid because of his song.

He's not even funny

5 Mulan - Mulan Fa Mulan, a character inspired by an actual historic figure is a character who appears in Walt Disney Pictures' 36th animated feature film Mulan, as well as its sequel Mulan II.

She is not "way underrated" and not "strong" or "badass"! Everyone praises her, puts other female characters down to prop her up, and all but tell any who criticize her the least little bit to kill themselves. She was a whiny brat, submissive to society and family "norms", only acted due to circumstance, and triumphed by luck and chance.

The country that stole so many American jobs and exports so many poor quality products (2007 toy recall due to excessive amounts of lead, anyone) was not worth saving, so don't anybody be throwing that "she SAVED CHINA" crap around any time someone says this chick is anything but the perfect holy being you all want us to think she is.

This stupid girl saved China, so..? Do I have to worship her like a god? I'm tired of being shouted by someone when I comment about her! Frankly, I really, really hate her! I'm not a fan of Fa Mulan. She annoys me whenever I see someone praises her. I just simply hate her, so stop explaining about Mulan, 'cause I never like her!

She isn't overrated! Overrated characters are annoying and have cheesy jokes. You guys are all just like, "She saved China, no big deal". What do you do, sit on your couch ranting about someone who SAVED CHINA?

6 Lilo - Lilo and Stitch

Not so much everyone thinks everything she does is cute than some of her weird, freaky, and (let's face it) annoying behavior is totally justified by her rough life yet Vanellope gets ridiculed and criticized left and right for her behavior despite HER rough life. And I'm sorry, but Lilo is the more annoying of the two.

Lilo is an annoying little psycho. No wonder she has no friends besides an obnoxious space creature; frankly I think even her holy sister merely tolerates her.

Friendly reminder that Lilo is about 6 years old and is incredibly lonely. If you don't like the character, don't watch the movie.

7 Judy Hopps - Zootopia Officer Judy Hopps is the protagonist in Disney's 2016 animated feature film Zootopia. The first rabbit to be in Zootopia's police force, Judy is determined to make the world a better place while breaking preconceptions about other species. Teaming up with a fox named Nick Wilde, she sets off on her first case but discovers a sinister conspiracy is at play.

This rabbit (can't call her a "chick" given her movie's big "be PC or else" message since that's both a not-PC term and not her actual species) is nothing special; Mulan was the first female to defy convention and what society expected of her. And FYI, I do not like Barney, Dora, Adult Party Cartoon, The Fox and the Hound 2 (or any of the Disney Direct-to-Home-Media sequels and prequels), Foodfight, Sausage Party, Sanjay and Craig, post-Elmo Sesame Street, Fanboy and Chum Chum, newer SpongeBob, Calliou or whatever else you all like to accuse people who go against your personal opinions of liking.

Don't know if she should be counted as the very first, but a string of ill-developed "woke feminist" characters have followed the unfortunate box office success of her movie. Disney has even retconned several EXISTING females of theirs to fit the "woke feminist" ideal!

This movie scared me so bad!
Also, Anyway, to the point is I thing Judy is actually a really good role model for kids, ya know, never give up your dreams and all that but she is kind of over rated.

What I don't get is why many of the same people shoving Mulan and Tiana down everyone's throats give this character credit for things we're supposed to praise Mulan and Tiana for (overcoming sexism and overcoming racism respectively). Mulan and Tiana came first!

8 Jim Hawkins - Treasure Planet

Whoever originally posted this, bless you: He's about as overrated as Peter Pan. He's every girls fantasy bad boy; he's edgy, he's rebellious, he's sentimental, he has family issues that are only there for five seconds (sorry fans of the movie but it is). At least with Peter Pan he's got charm and likable traits, but Jim, I see none.
Be honest ladies, you only defend the movie just because you think Jim is "sooo hot."

"UNDERRATED! - EJ0602" In what universe is being in hundreds if not thousands of fan art, fan fiction, manipulated images, and music videos paired with just about any and every other animated character in existence "underrated" let alone with the need for caps lock?

Overrated, paired with every male and female just because he's "sexy" and I think that's kind of annoying. And I thought Jack Frost fangirls were that bad.

9 Rapunzel - Tangled Rapunzel is a fictional character who appears in Walt Disney Animation Studios' 50th animated feature film Tangled, and its short sequel Tangled Ever After. She is the tenth Disney Princess, the first Disney Princess to be CGI-animated, and the first Disney Princess to have freckles or green eyes.

I hate Rapunzel. She looks weird and is annoying. I don't like it when she sings and dances. I don't like how she is like "Mother will hate me." No one cares about your life issues. I came to see a movie about a girl with long hair. Not a annoying blond with internal conflict issues.

When fans cannot express their love of a character without saying how much better the character is than any others and feels the need to thell fans of the other character(s) to "suck it on" (or any other combination of those words), you've got an overrated character.

She's an annoying Mary Sue with eyes like a fish. She didn't have actual chemistry with Eugene, they looked like just friends and then kissed.

She's just yet another damsel in distress in disguise as a "strong female character." I find her more annoying than snow white

10 Nani - Lilo and Stitch

Buried comment, in response to cries of her not being overrated or her being underrated: "People who otherwise didn't give her a second thought because they were too busy worshiping the blue devil back in the day starting rubbing everyone's noses in her solely because they hate Frozen. I don't care for Frozen myself but if Nani was really that great why wasn't anybody singing her praises before Frozen? "

"Why is she even here she is underrated of anything"

People who otherwise didn't give her a second thought because they were too busy worshiping the blue devil back in the day starting rubbing everyone's noses in her solely because they hate Frozen. I don't care for Frozen myself but if Nani was really that great why wasn't anybody singing her praises before Frozen?

She just suddenly became the holy bastion of sisterhood when a certain other Disney movies about sisters got popular. Before that, she was just a supporting character in a movie everyone only loved because of the annoying little extraterrestrial star Disney was and still is trying to push as a mascot.

The Contenders
11 Angel - Lilo and Stitch

That Disney merchandises her and Stitch for wedding and anniversary stuff as much as they do with Mickey and Minnie but more than with Donald and Daisy just makes me cringe.

12 Nick Wilde - Zootopia Officer Nicholas Piberius "Nick" Wilde is a male red fox and the deuteragonist of Zootopia. He is the son of Mrs. Wilde. He was voiced by actor, Jason Bateman.

I like Nick. I really do. I just think that he is extremely overrated.
I can see why fans like him. He was a character who changed for the good and ended up being really likable in the end. I like that about him. It made him really interesting. He was overall a pretty good character.

But was he really THAT good?

Don't think I'm against Zootopia, because I'm not. I love the movie to death. I just think that Nick gets WAY too much attention. I mean, come on, guys, other characters exist!
This leads me to my first point on why he's overrated.

#1. He literally overshadows everyone!
The fans just go absolutely bananas over him! He even overshadows Judy! Everyone spends too much time thinking about his backstory to even think about the other characters! I mean, look at Mr. Big for example! It would be so cool to find out about how he gained such a high position as a feared crime boss! But no one can imagine that because they are to caught up in thinking about a ...more

His concept was to be Judy's partner, The executions seriously feels like he hates the bunny.

A typical "bad guy who just needed some love" type, his story is so cliche.

This list is fox crap! (no offense Nick! )

13 Mickey Mouse Mickey Mouse is a funny animal cartoon character and the official mascot of The Walt Disney Company. He was created by Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks at the Walt Disney Studios in 1928. The first cartoon featuring Mickey Mouse was the iconic "Steamboat Willie" released in the year 1928.

Felix, Oswald, Bimbo and other toons are best.
Forgot Mickey Mouse!

Why is he overrated? He is the most famouse and important animated character ever

Oh the star of Disney.

Why isn't he higher?

14 Mushu - Mulan
15 Ariel - The Little Mermaid

Why so many people likes Arie? Ariel is one of the worst disney character ever

The Nostalgia Chick already said it best.

16 Kristoff - Frozen Kristoff Bjorgman is a fictional character who appears in Walt Disney Animation Studios' 53rd animated feature Frozen.

According to Disney culture, in this movie, there had to be someone to replace Hans for Anna. And in this case, this little douche was the guy.

I like kristoff

17 Baymax - Big Hero 6 Baymax is a fictional character, a superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics.

No offense but Disney advertises him too much. It's like they expected him to be the most popular character. Just because he's non human! Yes, I know he's the mascot and all but a lot of other Disney movies has had more than one mascot! I feel like Disney is trying to shove him on bh6 fans but if you noticed, a lot of fans tend to like Hiro and Tadashi more, and how much was Tadashi advertised? Disney sometimes advertises Hiro.

I feel like as they were making the movie, they tried to make Hiro everyone's favorite, but in commercials it was nothing but "Baymax this" and "Baymax that". They hardly ever brought up Hiro except if it was something about Baymax despite him being a bit more important to the movie. But they act like Baymax is more important. And they STILL over advertise Baymax.

While Baymax is a great character, I think in advertizement, he's very overrated!

Why is Baymax here?! Baymax is silly, friendly, and helps the people in need.

18 Esmeralda - The Hunchback of Notre Dame Esméralda, born Agnès, is a fictional character in Victor Hugo's 1831 novel The Hunchback of Notre-Dame.
19 Dory - Finding Nemo/Finding Dory
20 Belle - Beauty and the Beast Belle is a fictional character who appears in Walt Disney Pictures' 30th animated feature film Beauty and the Beast (1991) and in the live action remake Beauty and the Beast (2017). Belle is the intelligent and selfless young daughter of an inventor who does not conform to the normal ways of her small ...read more.

Just another princess. Sweet and adventurous get not very worthy of her praise

She fell in love with a talking buffalo on two legs with major anger issues.Enough has been said.

21 Liv Rooney - Liv and Maddie Olivia "Liv" Rooney is one of the two main protagonists of the Disney Channel original series Liv and Maddie, along with her identical twin sister and best friend Maddie. She is 16 years old and is the oldest member of the Rooney children. Liv also has two younger brothers and two parents who work at her school. She is a television star whose show just ended called Sing It Loud. She returns home from filming her TV series in Hollywood to her family in Wisconsin. When she comes back, she becomes a bit more popular due to attending the same public high school as her siblings, which little to her knowing, is a huge problem for Maddie. The twins seem to be polar opposites. Liv is more of a girly ...read more.

Ugh. How do people like her? She's way too overrated but I have no clue why. She's ugly, she's cringe-worthy, she makes a big deal about everything, she thinks she can sing but she really can't, and must I mention her ugly face AGAIN?! She looks like a shrimp on a diaper with Freddy Krueger's nose! Oh, and she has a stupid last name. Sorry (not sorry) Liv, but only Freddy Krueger looks good with his nose.

Okay. I don't like the comment above. I think Liv is very pretty, and has a great singing voice. Also Liv and Maddie is a really good show! It is so funny.

22 Shank - Ralph Breaks the Internet

Why does she have such a cult surrounding her?

23 Maximus - Tangled Maximus is a supporting character in Disney's 2010 animated feature film, Tangled. He is a palace horse for the Royal Guard of Corona.
24 Tiana - The Princess and the Frog Princess Tiana of Maldonia is a fictional main character who appears in Walt Disney Pictures' 49th animated feature film The Princess and the Frog.

She gets the credit *Kida* deserves! Kida was actually "Disney's first black princess". Also Dr. Sweet from Kida's movie was the first black animated character in a full length Disney movie, not Tiana or anyone else from her movie.

No little girls I've seen talk about her, she gets ranted on because the few people who like her for her skin, and she never makes the top 5/10 on a list. It may just be because where I'm searching or my perspective, but I think Tiana is underrated

I don't care what color her skin is. Didn't stop me from just wanting to slap her many times throughout the early part of the movie, and no the ending didn't make me suddenly love her either.

25 Honey Lemon - Big Hero 6

Lots of people won't shut up about how "bad" Anna and Elsa are because "they look too much like Rapunzel". Yet they say nothing when promotial pics showing what looks EXACTLY like Rapunzel in some kind of power armor are realeased. And course insist on supporting this character because Disney SAYS she's Hispanic. Talk about hypocrisy!

Before I watched the movie everyone was obsessing over her like she was actually important. So I watched the movie and HATED her. I find her to be unrealistic and I also find her fans extremely annoying. They always obsess over every little thing she does. Agh!

"Everyone praises her for doing nothing in the movie"

And this would be why there are no dolls or other merchandise of her. At least Elsa and Anna did a lot of things in their movie.

Modern feminism- that's why she and GoGo keep getting praise despite their non-essential role in "A Boy and His Robotic Balloon Thing".
