I have hated Chester ever since he became Stone Temple Pilot's new vocalist.

How come he is only #2? He is the most overrated singer I have ever known

Nothing special about his voice. It's pretty average.

His screams are awesome though

2 Freddie Mercury - Queen Freddie Mercury (born Farrokh Bulsara, 5th September 1946 - 24th November 1991) was a Zanzibari-born British singer of Indian descent, songwriter and record producer, known as the lead vocalist and songwriter of the British rock band Queen. He also became known for his flamboyant stage persona and four-octave vocal range. Before he became a singer he has been in 3 other bands (Ibex, Sour Milk Sea, and The Hectics). He died on November 24, 1991 from bronchopneumonia as a result from HIV/AIDS

Never produced the range on stage that he did in the studio, post 1980 (give or take). People RIDICULOUSLY overestimate his vocal range; I heard one Queen fan claim it was seven octaves. HA! Map it out on a piano. The occasional studio high note, e.g. the bridge in "Under Pressure," does not equate to a commanding range. He did most of his singing in the high baritone range which spanned maybe 2-3 octaves. Last but not least, an overly emotive delivery with occasionally annoying tremolo rather than a sincere delivery with a warm vibrato.

Completely over-rated, he is not qualified to carry Jim Morrison, Mick Jagger, or Elvis Presley's luggage. Rolling Stone magazine had him rated at #18 all time rock singers, which is about right at best.

Who added Freddie to this list? Yes, Freddie is praised but he is praised for a reason. This doesn't mean overrated. He deserves the credits. Overrated is somebody who isn't very good but people believe s/he is.

There's no doubt he is great but the greatest is an exaggeration especially after that movie he became a bit overrated! Robert Plant, Ian Gillan, Or Dickinson are actually better!

He released a solo album consisting of covers in 2020 called "No Fun Mondays" ranging from rock and punk covers. He has a 2 and a half octave vocal ranger, but over time in 2020 and onwards his range has gotten slightly higher. Most notably in their Father Of All album, and during various ...read more.

The thing about Ozzy was how he used his voice not the sound of the voice itself. And he was a great performer and frontman, in my opinion not overrated
