Top 10 Pet Shop Boys Songs

The Top Ten
1 West End Girls

Tennant said in "1000 UK #1 Hits" by Jon Kutner and Spencer Leigh, "We arrived in the studio and Bobby O had programmed Michael Jackson's 'Billie Jean' drum pattern. Chris started to play along and I started playing chords." In terms of the lyrics, the inspiration for "West End Girls" came from "The Message" by Grandmaster Flash. I remember once staying at my cousin's house in Nottingham and we were watching some kind of gangster film with James Cagney. Just as I was dropping off to sleep, the lines 'sometimes you're better off dead, there's a gun in your hand and it's pointing to your head' came into my head and I thought 'that's quite good,' so I went off to find a pen.

2 Suburbia

The best hit of the Pet Shop Boys. Wonderful, unique, and it definitely stands out as a hit for this team.

Yes, this is a great masterpiece. I cannot understand yet how West End Girls is considered Pet Shop Boys' best. Is it because that song was part of the GTA V soundtrack? Haha.

I love the chorus lines and the better vocals for real!

3 It's a Sin

For me, the best song from the Pet Shop Boys, and I think it will remain the best from them in the future. It's a powerful, melodic hymn of the 1980s. I really like how the intro of this song starts and ends with a thunderous voice!

For me, this song is actually the best song ever from Pet Shop Boys and one of the greatest hits of the 1980s!

Domino Dancing is boring and dull. This song is a lot better for entrance at his top 3. Well deserved.

4 Domino Dancing

The instrumental version is far better.

Fantastic song. Sad and emotional.

5 Always on My Mind

By far, one of my favourite Pet Shop Boys songs that deserves a lot more fame and acknowledgement. I don't think I've ever heard a song that packs so much love, emotion, and beauty into it. It makes me feel like I want to cry.

I first heard the song in the summer of 2018 with my girlfriend, and we love it! It's one of our personal favourites. Listening to it while being away from her for three weeks during separate summer holidays made me feel very emotional. Now, I can't listen to the song while away from her. It just makes me miss her even more and makes me feel emotional.

Although I'm a millennial and was brought up listening to a lot of '80s music, the song is one of those examples that makes me wish I could experience one of the best decades in human history.

6 What Have I Done to Deserve This?

One of the most important collaborations ever with a past-gen female singer like Dusty Springfield. Simply an 8/10 song. Cool for its time yet!

Gonna break my life with this song playing on the yard.

7 Heart

Should be top 5 in my opinion. A very catchy song that never gets old!

8 Opportunities (Let's Make Lots of Money)

Simply the best song on "Please" and one of the best electro-pop songs ever!

Good song. Why is it out of the Top 10?

One of the clearly best Pet Shop Boys songs of all time. It deserves more, I think.
