Top 10 Best Pokemon Designs

When it comes to Pokémon, their designs are as integral to their charm as their unique powers or endearing personalities. From the very first generation of Pokémon, we've been treated to a dazzling array of designs. Whether it's the simple elegance of Pikachu, the majestic awe of Gyarados, or the intricate complexity of Alakazam, there's a lot to love. In a world that spans nine generations with over 1,000 Pokémon, each creature holds a distinct place with its unique design.

Maybe it's Charizard's fearsome appearance that stands out to you, with its fiery tail and dragon-like form inspiring a sense of power and awe. Or perhaps you appreciate the whimsical creativity behind Jigglypuff's round, soft, and charmingly simple design. And let's not forget the newer generations, which continue to captivate us with Pokémon like Greninja, with its cleverly incorporated ninja theme, or Mimikyu, whose design poignantly reflects its own story and lore.

It's up to you to decide which designs truly capture the spirit of Pokémon. Is it the adorable first-stage evolutions, the awe-inspiring final forms, or the stand-alone Pokémon that have no evolution but still strike a chord with you?
The Top Ten
1 Primarina

I personally love Primarina, cute, and I love the mermaid aspects.

2 Vaporeon Vaporeon, known in Japan as Showers, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.
3 Absol Absol is a fictional creature in the Pokémon franchise. It was first introduced in Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire. It later gained a Mega Evolution in Pokemon X and Y and Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.

Absol is honestly my most favorite Pokemon. I choose him for every play of games that I do. In the Marriland forums, I always talk about how great a Pokemon it is. And with its powerful attack stat, it packs a punch as well as looks awesome. And MEGA Absol? Guardian Angels!

A stunning angel of disaster. The elusive white fur, piercing crimson eyes, intimidating claws and horn, what's not to love?

YES! I love absol! I'm not 100% sure what it's based off of, but its mega looks like a Pegasus.

4 Leafeon Leafeon, known in Japan as Leafia, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise. Leafeon is a Grass-type Pokémon introduced in Generation IV, and is one of the eight evolutionary forms of Eevee.

Leafeon's design looks pretty lazy to me.

5 Eevee Eevee, known in Japan as Eievui, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise first introduced in the games Pokemon Red and Blue. Considered as the evolution Pokemon, it has the most evolutions out of all Pokemon species. Eevee can evolve to Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Espeon,... read more

The pokemon franchise has always been great at making simplistic designs look awesome, but they really nailed it with Eevee, he looks like he really suits his purpose, and his design makes sense.

6 Scyther
7 Greninja Greninja is a Water/Dark type Pokemon introduced in Gen 6. It is the evolved form of Frogadier and the final evolved form of the water starter Froakie. Aside from the usual Torrent ability all Water starters have (Which raises the power of its Water moves), it also has the ability Protean, which changes... read more

No.6 is okay... I guess?... NO!
Greninja deserves to be way higher.
He should be number 1, and until that happens, this list is factually incorrect.
Greninja should be number 1 forever!

Greninja is a sleek, dark frog ninja. It's got nothing bad about it. Also it uses it's tongue as a scarf, SO SICK!

Ninja styled pokemon that uses it's tongue as a scarf. What not to like about it?

8 Ninetales Ninetales, known in Japan as Kyukon, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.
9 Lycanroc Lycanroc (Japanese: ルガルガン Lugarugan) is a Rock-type Pokémon introduced in Generation VII. It evolves from Rockruff starting at level 25. The form it takes upon evolving depends on the game it was evolved in and the time it was evolved.

Extremely edgy, but a nice design overall! Gotta love em.

10 Lucario Lucario is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise. Created by Ken Sugimori, Lucario first appeared as a central character in the film Pokémon: Lucario and the Mystery of Mew, and later appeared in the video games Pokémon Diamond and Pearl and subsequent sequels, also appearing... read more

Lucario is just the most badass pokemon that's ever lived. It's shiny is just awesome. It's mega is to. I can go on forever

Lucario is so awesome! Especially his mega evolution!

12 Espeon Espeon, known in Japan as Eifie, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.

Very simple yet appealing, I like it.

13 Zygarde Zygarde, known in Japan as the same name, is a Legendary Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.

I find zygarde pretty underrated, so sad this fella didn't end up getting his own game! I wish he got a more major part in one of the games, poor buddy had so many ideas going for him.

14 Houndoom

I wish Houndoom a higher rank here. I mean, it's a demon dog, it's hard to make something out of that. And to make it this cool, that must be near impossible.

It looks awesome! I say that it has the best design, better than vaporion! (not absol because I like absol! ) Eevee is a cat, so leafion is a leaf cat, jolteon is a volt cat, flarion is a fire cat, umbreon is a umbrella cat!, and vaporion is a fish cat! How can a mammal changed to a fish? And something above it's head is like that of a shark. And houndoms design is seriously the best!

15 Jolteon Jolteon, known in Japan as Thunders, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.
16 Darkrai Darkrai, known in Japan as the same name, is a Legendary Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.

18 Zoroark Zoroark is a dark type Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game freak's Pokémon franchise. It evolves from zorua at level 30.

Just Lookit! Plus it's ability, Illusion, is incredibly useful, and cool.

I've never found charizard's design all that creative, but I do think it's p cool.

21 Flygon Flygon, known in Japan as Flygon, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.

One of my favorite dragon types but why is it in the bug egg group?

22 Flareon Flareon, known in Japan as Booster, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.
23 Arcanine Arcanine, known in Japan as Windie, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.

I love Arcanine. I've never used him on my main team but he just looks so awesome. So worthy of being on this list.

YAY! My favorite Gen 1 pokemon and 2nd favorite pokemon of all time next to Sceptile

A simple and sweet design, I'd love to hug one.

24 Rayquaza Rayquaza (pronounced "ray-quay-zah") is a Dragon/Flying type Legendary Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise. It serves as the mascot in the game Pokémon Emerald. Rayquaza can mega evolve into Mega Rayquaza provided that it does not have a Z-Crystal and it knows the move... read more

You gotta be kidding me... Rayquaza is the best designed Pokemon ever. It's mega form only makes it better.

Why isn't this #1?
It is my all time favorite pokemon.
Mega Rayquaza, Shiny Mega Rayquaza, and all of its forms are great.

Your opinion is very, very accurate on this one.
