Top Ten Predatory Dinosaurs
For people saying that this dinosaur was a scavenger, I agree. It was both a scavenger and a hunter. And being a scavenging dinosaur doesn't make it any less cool. Just think about it, we humans are scavengers and hunters. Some of us "hunt" prey, sell it to another person. Then that person eats it. Besides, the dinosaurs whose jaws were perfectly designed for scavenging is none other than the spinosaurids themselves. They are quadrupeds so they aren't able to chase other dinosaurs. The only thing they are able to prey on is fish. Therefore, the spinosaurids will also scavenge, scaring away other scavengers with its size. Just think about it in the perspective of the Rex. You are alone and starving. You see a carcass ahead. An Ankylosaurus. Lying on its back. Dead. Two dead dinosaurs laid on the side of the carcass, fighting over the carcass. No dinosaurs are nearby, except a herd of Triceratops. The ankylosaurus has enough meat for a month. What do you do? Kill the Triceratops, or ...more
T rex beats other Dinos like spino and giga in many ways! The reason why it's king of the dinosaurs and always should be is that it was a ferocious hunter. There is great evidence of it being a hunter, due to a puncture mark in a hadrosaur bone. The only animal that could snap that bone in half was T. Rex, thanks to a bite force estimated to be 12,000 + pounds. The bone showed regrowth, meaning the hadrosaur survived the attack. There is even evidence of pack hunting, due to signs of healing on very serious injuries. The only was it could have survived that long was if another T. Rex brought it food. Also, being slightly smaller than spino and giga, and more muscular in the legs, it was definitely more agile and faster. An estimate of top speed is 29 mph! Compare that to a lumbering, quadrupedal spino with much weaker jaws, or a giganotosaurus with size working against it. It is also a very intelligent hunter, very capable in planning maneuvers and coordinated attacks. This makes T. ...more
So what if T. Rex is overrated.T. rex have bone crushing bite force and fought many tough armored dinosaurs like the ankylosaurs and stegosaurs. It does have puny arms, but it is way smarter than a Spinosaur and six times better vision than a human. He is more muscular and stronger than any carnivorous dinosaur alive, he's not a dinosaur to mess with. Spinosaur have great disadvantage, it's bite is weaker, less smart, less fighting experience, the spine can easily be break and the battle is over.
Even though adults were a little poky when it came to locomotion, they made up for it with having a relatively big brain for an animal of its size and by having the most powerful bite of any land animal. Tyrannosaurus had a bite force of up to six tons, depending on what its own body mass was.
It was much bigger than allosaurus had a stronger bite force (11700) and also hunted in packs. Oh and it hunted the biggest dinosaur ever.
Three awesome claws, two flat awesome horns, tens of awesome teeth, these are some of the things that makes Allosaurus my favorite dinosaurs.
Allosaurus was basically the wolf of the Jurassic period. It hunted in packs to take down bigger prey and more dangerous prey like Stegosaurus or Diplodicus.
T. Rex is overrated. At least Allosaurus could hunt and had use of it's arms... Allosaurus are the wolves of the Jurassic.
The 2000 Disney movie Dinosaur taught me about them.
Those horns are epic!
My top ten favorite dinosaurs:
1. Velociraptor
2. Deinonychus
3. Archaeopteryx
4. Troodon
5. Utahraptor
6. Spinosaurus
7. Compsognathus
8. Sinornithosaurus
9. Microraptor
10. Anchiornis
T-rex is so overrated. Most meat eating dinosaurs are that powerful or more. Spinosaurs is rare, unknown and the biggest meat eating dinosaur.
Spino's name is very ugly just cause of its spine. Well T.rex means tyrant king easily break the meaning of your name.
Jeez people, it's just a dinosaur, why you all hating so much? Man
Smart, agile, pack hunting this a very good dinosaur but not in top ten.
Simply a magnificent creature and a efficient killer. Honestly, Carcharodontosaurus is the first thing that came to mind whenever the subject of prehistoric predators was brought up.
Not a predatory dinosaur it was a herbivore!
