out of tune lists #1

Well, I have never ranted before, but this list is utter trash. When I think of punk ROCK, I don't think of one direction and Taylor Swift fans remixing it and voting for the stupidest little pop bands ever. I may hate a lot of genres, but punk "rock" is one of them. In my class at school, they put a bit of green day on, and the ones who sing pathetic "ballads" that people think are emotional or outstanding, were all dancing like a 5 year old on crack. THIS MUSIC ISN'T PUNK ROCK AT ALL! IT IS AWFUL WANNABE ROCK BANDS! Their fans think they are so cool. I mean, they are like the avenged sevenfold fans of punk. They just need to listen to other things. Green day, blink 182, sum 41 THEY ALL SUCK! The title of this list is punk ROCK anyway.

But, I am a big punk rock fan, and when I clicked on this list, this isn't what I expected. Here are some GOOD punk rock bands. The Ramones? They were one of the first punk rock band and practically popularised the genre. Sex pistols? They are real punk and define the classic punk sound, the vocals and guitar I usually associate with the word punk. The clash? Maybe not as aggressive, but they are still one of the earlier, more pioneering punk rock bands, and have some great songs. The dammed? They are easily one of the greatest, a TRUE punk rock band. Sham 69? My personal favourite. I was watching an old top of the pops episode, and when the came on, it blew my mind, I wanted more, so these are the band who, years ago, got me into punk. To this day, they are still the greatest punk rock band of all time.

So, before voting for all these pathetic pop bands, listen to some of the original, greatest, pioneering and most brilliant band who defined the genre in the 70's (the clash, the Ramones, the sex pistols, the dammed and sham 69), rather than wasting a vote on the pop bands, such as green day, blink182 or sum 41. Thank you for reading the first episode of my newest post series, out of tune lists.

Ludicrous, they ain't punk and especially Blink 182! They are pop! WAY too poppy, comercially friendly, and they sing about relationships! All the Small Things indeed! Try Bodies or God Save the Queen by the Sex Pistols! That's punk! - shawnwalker

Way too popular, soft, normal. That isn't punk - waldo

Go up to a random guy and ask who his favorite punk rock artist is. If he says Taylor Swift, then smack the taste out of his mouth - bobbythebrony

I loved your rant! I get sick of people trying to label everything as punk nowadays! They try to call emo bands like My Chemical Romance and Fall Out Boy punk! They don't even sound the same! The Sex Pistols and Ramones are everything to punk and deserve to be fighting each other for the top spot! They are both brilliant, the real deal, and the originators of the genre regardless of what anybody says! What you wrote about the Sex Pistols, Ramones, Clash, Damned, and Sham 69 was cool. They all deserve it far more than bands that didn't earn their stripes that are also wrongly labeled punk. - shawnwalker
