Best Riverside Albums

The Top Ten
1 Love, Fear and the Time Machine
2 Second Life Syndrome
3 Anno Domini High Definition

Really surprised this isn't number 1. It has some of their greatest lyrics, and its even better musically. There may be only 5 tracks and it's the shortest Riverside album by far. But there is not a single weak moment, not to mention every track on here is worthy of a top ten list. The album is about the struggle to keep up with reality, and not having anytime to reflect upon what your life has become, well, that's what I get out of it anyway. Anyways, seriously, if you like prog rock/metal, you cannot miss this one.

4 Shrine of New Generation Slaves
5 Out of Myself

This one is so underrated, this is by far the most unique Riverside album to date. It blends the more genres than any other album and it all feels natural, it also takes you on a musical journey that you can't get anywhere else. The atmosphere is perfect and nothing sounds out of place. This was the first Riverside album I ever heard. I'll never forget the day I was riding the bus to school, it was pitch black outside and I listened to The Same River, and then Out of Myself. I was already of fan of Pocupine Tree and other groups of similar genres, but never had I heard any prog rock so diverse, emotional, and beautiful. Its very mellow, but with elements of arena rock every now and then, sometimes it sounds like dub. My point is, it's a rare and beautiful album that needs way more attention.
