1 Avantasia Avantasia is a German supergroup rock opera project created by Tobias Sammet, vocalist of the band Edguy.

This is one of my favorite bands and everyone I know and everyone they know does not know them

2 Rush Rush was a Canadian progressive rock band that was formed in 1968. The band has had an iconic lineup since 1975, which included Neil Peart (Drums, Percussion), Geddy Lee (Vocals, Bass, Keyboards), and the guitarist, Alex Lifeson. Peart passed away after a 3 year battle with brain cancer in January of 2020. Because of this, Lee says there are no plans to keep the band going, so Rush is most likely defunct. The band has become one of the most well-known progressive rock bands in the world, with such albums as "2112", "Hemispheres" and "Moving Pictures". More than half of their albums have gone gold or platinum, as certified by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association Of America).

3 Ayreon Ayreon is a musical project by Dutch songwriter, singer, multi-instrumentalist musician and record producer Arjen Anthony Lucassen. Ayreon's music is described as progressive rock, progressive metal and power metal sometimes combined with genres such as folk, electronica, experimental and classical music.

Very awesome project. All they do is concept albums with great music and singers.

4 Edguy Edguy is a heavy metal band from Fulda, Germany that was founded in 1992 by 14-year-old students Tobias Sammet, Jens Ludwig, Dominik Storch and Dirk Sauer.

Okay, maybe not known by nowadays teenage kids but everybody ( even those who don't listen to Rock ) who were young in the seventies and eighties knows them. They were one of the best known bands of Hard Rock / Heavy metal bands of that era.

Most people know them. But in teenagers some may not know

Really? Everybody knows Blondie. Maybe a few kids of 10-14 years old who just listen to rap crap don't know her, but who cares about those stupid kids.

They are amazing. More people should know who they are and what they do, music is a must-listen.

Queen is the best band ever! But under played, so under exposed, therefore: under appreciated.

This shouldn't be in the list everybody knows Queen.
