Best Rock Bands of All Time
The Contenders: Page 13
A very underrated band, known only for Carry on Wayward Son and Dust In The Wind, both of which are nowhere near their best song. They are, in my opinion, the best progressive rock band out there, or at least best American Progressive Rock band, and songs such as Journey From Mariabron, Lamplight Symphony, The Pinnacle, Miracles out of Nowhere, Magnum Opus, Lightning's Hand, Sparks of the Tempest, and A Glimpse of Home are really great songs, and I bet if you listen to them, you will find them better than most other bands, including many other Prog bands such as Pink Floyd, Genesis, Yes, and King Crimson. - DarkenedBrutality
Possibly best band EVER! An example of there greatness is their best song ever "Carry on Wayward Son"
you just have to hear icarus and icarus II to understand why is one of the best bands of all time, and songs like the wall, what's on your mind? and many many others
These guys are great! They kind of remind me of the band Boston.V 9 Comments
Wait! #179! Saw them in concert a few years ago in Vegas...they rock the house down! I didn't realize that they had so many hits...they are Top 20 at least! I became a fan in just one night!
Way more hits than most of these bands. Foreigner deserves top 50
Who the hell is doing these ratings?
I love ForeignerV 8 Comments
In my opinion The Fray is awesome. The Fray's one of my favourite bands and I don't understand why they are number 203 now. They should be in the top 10! Because they deserve it. They make awesome music with lots of meanings in the lyrics. So I hope they will be in the top 10. Love The Fray.
Yes, The Fray is amazing and forever will be. I'm so glad I discovered their music! I love them. They should be on the top!
I love them so much! They should be number 1!
Isaac, Ben, Joe and Dave, thank you very much!
Love me some The Fray... One of the best bands besides Nickelback and Lifehouse...V 1 Comment
New band, made by the Former Escape the fate Singer, Ronnie Radke, After Returning from Prison, Ronnie made songs About his Experience in Prison, About ETf, And his life. Why I like this band is because, they are unique, their album was a hit, it had all types of songs, this band will be a big hit in the future
Deserve to at least be in front of Escape the Fate lolV 2 Comments
Bush deserves better than 361 they are a very important part of 90s music.
Not the best band, but had lots of decent stuff, should probably be higher - mtndewlord
YOU GOTTA LOVE THIS BAND...
there's nothing that will make you hate them
What the heck they might not be too good but I do like no ne does it better'underdog'save it for the bedroom'loverboyand much more great songs they should be on the top 100 and how is all time low ahead of them they ttoatly not better than these guys rock on!V 2 Comments
#144! Dear god, what is happening?
Kasabian in my mind are one of the greatest bands of the modern age, let me just throw some songs at you:
-Shoot The Runner
-Where Did All The Love Go?
Kasabian are fantastic and they don't deserve to be this low
Great band from the UK. Very unique style. Definitely should be in the top 50.
An amazing band with some great songs
Nobody likes Kasabian?V 1 Comment
The Stone Roses at 271? They influenced started the so called "Brit-pop" era of the 90s as well as producing their self titled album which for me is an all-time great.
The Stone Roses should definitely be higher. One of my all time favourite bands and influenced so many other artists!
Woeful list, Stone Roses are possibly the best band since the end of the 70's.
Ian Brown is awesomeV 4 Comments
Really underrated. Probably one of the best bands to come from the 2000s
Bad-ass. Easily the best band making music currently - redwings56
Awesome band... they're going to buzzfest 2016.. but as the MAIN THING WHICH IS AMAZING. GOOD JOB GUYSV 5 Comments
QOTSA is the greatest band of all time. this list should be called best selling rock bands because that's what it seems like. the only reason QOTSA is so low on the list is because they didn't (and still don't) have a "genre hype train" to jump on. what I mean is: they are not "indie" (which isn't even a genre), they r not metal, they r not new wave, they r not punk rock, they r not grunge, they r not glam death thrash hardcore punk pop blues. many bands got popular because they had some stupid genre to be a part of like nirvana and pearl jam (grunge), Metallica (metal). I would just say "rock" to describe them. listen to SONGS FOR THE DEAF. that album...
Pretty tight band, shouldn't be this low, definitely one of the best modern rock bands around
I'm sorry, but if there's ANY musicians reading this comment please! Listen to at least their last album. If you really are a musician you'd note that they have an original sound, original musical constitution, they have good meaning, and well, they have great sound! This should easily be right behind all the legendary bands like Led Zeppelin, and DEFINITELY ahead of Linkin Park, Green Day and 30 seconds of Mars
One of the best bands of the last 20 years, should be top 30 of all time at least.V 15 Comments
ERASERHEADS, if they were not born, Philippine's MUSIC will not be alive. They serve as the inspiration of the Philippine band. They are compared with the Beatles, and so, they are so humble. They are the "THE BEATLES" of the Philippines.
The best band on earth"try to listen to their music
This is best band in the Philippines
You must hear their greatest songsV 5 Comments
Seeing The Smiths this far down doesn't surprise me at all. One of the best bands in the history of music indeed, they have influenced every single act that has come out of the British rock since 1987, but they wouldn't be The Smiths if they achieved mainstream success. The Smiths stand for the outcasts, for the outsiders, for the alternative. Morrissey's lyrics entwined with Johnny Marr's melodic guitar playing gives us the most prominent songrwiting partnership since Lennon/McCartney. However, honey is not made for the lamb's snout. Let them stick to Linkin Park and Chester Bennington,30 seconds to mars and Avenged Sevenfold while we listen to the real thing.
Absolute travesty to see the genius of The Smiths so far down on this list. Daring and never seen before lyricism, one of the best guitarists to ever exist and hugely underrated bass and drums from Rourke and Joyce. This band has inspired the likes of the Oasis and Radiohead for crying out loud people!
No other band had more influence on 90s alternative singer-songwriters as Morrissey and The Smiths. Without The Smiths, "emo" would have never existed. Morrissey made it OK to say exactly how you felt about being awkward, nerdy, geeky and misunderstood. Johnny Marr's famous guitar stutter effect on "How Soon Is Now? " would forever change the sound of alternative rock guitar forever and spawn thousands of copycats.
Musically superlative; no other band touches their staunch, wizened, yet eloquent realism, they've come and gone and nobody will replicate the Smiths, ever. Should easily be making the top ten, dare I say a worthy contender for the number 1 spot?V 13 Comments
Twenty One Pilots music has power to it! Each and every song speaks words of wisdom! No matter who you are you can relate closely to one of their songs. The style in which they use makes you really get into the music and makes you think about what the lyrics mean and bring happiness to everyone.
Why isn't my favorite band higher!? Their music is easy for me to relate to and it makes me feel happy. But, as it says in Message Man, "These lyrics aren't for everyone." Maybe their music and lyrics is hard to understand for some, but I know that isn't the case for me.
They are great, but they are singing Hip-Hop, not Rock
You are down...feeling bad...well listen to holding on to you and guns for hands...there will be a change in your feelingV 14 Comments
Primus has the best bassist in the universe, and all of the songs are awesome! Anybody who tries to beat Primus at being awesome will fail. Primus Sucks!
Primus deserves better than 139th place. Primus deserves to be in at least the top 50. Les Claypool auditioned to join Metallica once after the original bassist had died, and he didn't make it because he was too good.
Heh, it's a pity that not in first 100, but still good that in first 300
Best bassist ever, but he's practically the whole band.V 3 Comments
They're so amazing. I'd recommend it to everyone who absolutely loves heavy rock with amazing screams...
I cannot tell you how kickass this band is.. You should listen to their cover of dio's holy diver..V 2 Comments
It is not a rock band at all... You have insulted the genre by inserting this band in the list. Where is Pink Floyd?
They are a rock band of some sort and I LOVE them even though I'm 53 1/2 years old! They should have been way better on the list!V 3 Comments
