Top Ten Rock Opera/Concept Albums
When people ask me what my favourite Pink Floyd album is, I always say Animals. Every song is great in it's own way, and every song compares us to Animals. Bit like the three classes.
I agree completely. While it doesn't stand up to Piper, Saucerful, and Dark Side, Animals is far better than The Wall. Plus, it doesn't stray from the "concept" like so many albums do.
I don't think I've ever listened to an album so gripping and sad than this. Every song stands out, and there are several musical and lyrical references to the song "Metropolis Pt.1". So please, before voting blindly for The Wall, listen to this first.
Don't kill me for putting this 6th. It's a damn good album, but I've always prefered Animals.
Written about prophets and madness, every song is great - especially the title track. My favourite Iron Maiden song.
Thanks for listening, peasants
Every song is about monsters, killers, and other historical people. Some song examples: Dracula, Frankenstein, Transylvania (Iron Maiden cover) etc.
Queensryche went slowly downhill after Promised Land and the departure of Chris Degarmo. But this is one of the classics.
My favourite album by The Who. The story is really cool.
Did I write it correctly?
No worries, my friend. While it's my all-time favourite album, I don't really think its concept holds up as well as most of the others on this list.
Yeah... Just like me to put rock at the end.
Great music, great story!
Great band, great album
