Ian Gillan of Deep Purple is awesome. Gillan was also the first singer that sang the Jesus Christ parts in the rock opera 'Jesus Christ Superstar' (1970). Gillan was selected for the role of Jesus Christ personally by the author Andrew Lloyd Webber. Gillan performance of the aria "Gethsemane (I Only Want to Say)" is incredible. It's better than anything you've heard from him with Deep Purple.
