Top 10 Safest Countries to Live In 2014
Norway is an absolutely safe country; its quality of life and healthcare are one of the best in the world. Crime almost never happens in Norway, making it one of the few utopian countries. The citizens are really helpful and kind and even the urban areas are sanitary. Norway is considered one of the cleanest countries in the world. Norway has beautiful cities and rural areas that are great for taking pictures. Norway is, without a doubt, a truly safe country almost free from any danger.
Anders B. Breivik is the only one that have attached Norway, EVER. I don't say that Norway is 100% safe, but it's VERY safe. Safer than many other countries in the world. I don't have much knowledge about Canada, but I'm sure it's a nice country : )
Much safer than Canada or any country in the world. No country can beat Norway.
Norway deserves to be number 1. It's way safer than every country in the world.
I've done some research on it. Quite safe in general, big houses, everying affordable. Note I am under 18 Posting this so no hating please. This is just my opinion. I live in the UK (United Kindom) and I would like to move there when I am older like 18. I know I know I'll have to apply for visas and ****(bleeping it incase small kids see this). So ye I like Canada in general one of my best friends was born there so. I don't think you have to pay a lot of tax. I haven't researched that bit. Anyone reply back to me what it is like in Canada. I just saw this when I put in what is the safest country to live in so I bet lots of people are going to see this, laugh out loud. I hope you enjoyed reading this and good bye. It's like 10pm by the time I am posting this.
Canada is not all safe. 97% of Canada is safe and clean. I live here in Alberta and this province is very safe. Canada is N1? Sorry, I didn't notice. But it's really not supposed to be N1. Worldwide, it is the third safest country right after Switzerland and Sweden
I am Canadian and black. I feel safe and I can go anywhere. If I travel to Europe or Asia, I am always looking backwards for the crazies. Canada rocks
Canada has no more crime per capita than any other powerful country really. And I live here now and I can tell you it's very safe.
Known to be one of the most friendliest countries in the world, and it has one of the lowest crime rates!
Considered one of the happiest countries in the world.
Finland is not only safe, but amazing!
New Zealand has less than 1% crime rate, a very stable economy and one of the most beautiful landscapes, so what's not to love. No, I don't live there, I live in the corrupt capital of the world... good old US of A.
Very safe, nice people, great culture. Hardly gets involved in anything dangerous. Less than 1% crime rate. Beautiful Scenery. Very green. I would love to compare New Zealand with America, and New Zealand won!
I live here and it is not perfect, crime is not unheard of, but it is amazingly scarce. I am originally from the US, but I have to say, moving here was the best decision I have ever made in my entire life.
I come from south-Africa and now I live in New Zealand and compared to South Africa this is almost no crime ;P
Very safe From A British/ South African view
Sweden should be number 1 not 7
Even the Cold War ended here! Most terrorists are not aware of its existence so you'll be safe from them too. Unfortunately I've been hearing a lot of the people from Iceland are getting out of there because they're bored or depressed
According to the Global Peace Index (THE FILE THAT TELLS YOU THE ACTUAL SAFEST COUNTRIES IN THE WORLD) Number 1 for 2018 is Iceland
This list is 2014, not 2018, so why won't you complain on the correct list instead of the wrong list.
Hardest language to learn. They stay out of people in the world affairs.
No guns, free health care, excellent police force that rarely fires at civilians (unlike America's) and a multicultural and accepting community. What more could you want? Australia has one of the highest age expectancy and one of the lowest infant mortality rates in the world. Australia's crime rate is among the lowest in the world. We have a strong anti smoking society and have very strict laws but not extreme punishments (such as the death penalty). Australia is one of the safest countries in the world and everyone knows it.
P. S how is India and the United States in the top 10?
I'm so confused. What are we doing wrong? We have a no guns policy, a multicultural community, some of the greatest cities in the world (just because the cities are populated doesn't make them safe). One of the highest life expectancies in the world! US has cities where gun shots are normal every few hours, that's called safe now? Australia is one of the safest countries in the world.
I live in Australia but I'm actually Bosnian. Since I have been here I have noticed something
I have never been in a dangerous place before in Australia, except for a minor car crash. And that was it.
Am certain that Australia is safer to live in than USA- that makes no sense whatsoever?! Live in UK yet do not agree with Australia being in 11th place!
Austria should be higher on the list!
One of the safest countries!
In big cities like Beijing and Shanghai (also hearing people from Shenzhen), you feel very safe, even when walking at night
Typhoons are quite bad but apart from that, it is quite safe to live they don't have guns or anything
Why is Philippines here the typhoon happend duh the typhoons name is typhoon Haiyan how do I know because I'm filipino and I saw the typhoon
Well there's to many safety place here in the Philippines like bacolod city, davao and cebu
Japan! Full with Disciplinity, Very Low Crime Rate (Tokyo at #1 safest country, And other one at #3), Great trains (over over 100+ Trains) Lost and found everywhere, #5 Wealthiest Country at over 4,400 Billion dollars, Average Coldness, 4 Seasons, Cleanest City is Tokyo, Literally Best Country EVER! I know this because I'm living here, my lost items are retrieved with GPS and honest people everywhere
I came to Japan to teach English. less than 3 months my bike got stolen so I bought another bike locked it good still got stolen in one year I lost 3 bikes. But I think its still safe compared to the U. S never heard anyone getting shot or a home burglary. haven't seen anyone assaulting anybody or screaming each other on the street.. Mind your own business.
I've lived there for 3 years, and suppose that Japan is the only one country on earth where you can find your lost wallet on a busy street without losing even one coin.
I do love honest, kind people and stunning culture.
Good food, nice people and safest country in the world
Very safe no military really fee
Very safe place to live.
Switzerland has the lowest homicide and suicide rates in Europe. I think it was deliberately left off the top of the list because it has a heavily armed culture which has allowed it to stay neutral for hundreds of years.
This should be higher.
America - how can it be the 7th most safe place to live when there are such high gun crimes plus mass shootings so regularly?! America would be far safer if guns were not freely available- if only people who owned guns were the special branch in police- yet all the racists in the USA police force need to be rooted out first of all! British grammar is far better than American grammar, absolutely, too! Would feel safer visiting Canada instead of visiting USA on holiday (what you Americans call vacation, too)! USA have the highest obesity rates, too! Now UK has a problem with this thanks to American fast food outlets in UK- thanks America! Do not hate the USA, far from it- just do hate fast food restaurants, guns, your version of English language and how you have almost wiped out /marginalised the indigenous American Indians (first nation people) and how unfair your healthcare system is! Love many American authors (though change the words in the books- cross out the American and put in ...more
Who ever wrote the comment about America not being a safe place to have your kids go to school is an idiot and can barely speak English because their grammar is so terrible. They sound like a 5 year old and are probably from Pakistan and just like to hate on America because you know your obsessed with us. You follow all of our pop culture and listen to our music.
New York used to be VERY high in crime, banks were robbed very often. This inspired super heroes and things like that.
But around the 1990s the new mayor changed everything. Better police, better security. And today New York is modern, and almost crime free. Despite the 9/11 events, everything is ok
By the way I'm British
Any haters of the U.S. can shove that up their buts. We have hard earned freedom, which a lot of places don't have! I love it here, and I plan to stay where I am in Texas, thank you very much!
UK needs to be first! If it was based on the south west of England it would be 1st for safest, for sure! Love living here. Could not live anywhere else! Always feel safe!
I'm glad there is no volcanoes or major earthquakes here. Just the amount of rain!
Where I live (NI) is great. No volcanoes (well, Slemish, but it's extinct) or earthquakes. Some accidents but it happens everywhere.
I'm glad there's no disasters in sheffield
Most warm and non-violent people on earth
Ireland is a safe and beautiful country
Crime? Rarely
Weather hazards? It snows but never dangerously, and normally it has mild weather
People? Ireland is known for its hospitality, it's people are mostly awesome and friendly, with the best accents.
Wildlife? Unless you're worrying about getting eaten by a pony or something, you're pretty safe.
Guns? Nuh-uh
It's pretty safe
Ireland is like australia in its cultural assimilation but overall weather is better than australia
Irish generally mind their own business, except in some remote towns where people are nosy
Personally, I think that Ireland should be in the Top 5, at least. Common sense people!
This is the safest country on earth.
