Singers With the Coolest Singing Voices

Obviously Freddy Mercury, Michael Jackson or Robert Plant would be top 5 on best singing voices, but this is coolest. MJ and Freddy had amazing voices but they both did pop-rock (mixed with other genres but those were their mains) which can be annoying and Plant just had something about his voice that can get obnoxious after a few hours; not to mention they all had a whiny quality which was cool but tiring. This is coolest artists of all time not best.

Variables include:
Unique-ness, and cool-ness, that's it. Oh, and it has to be a voice you could listen to all day, I don't know a single word for that, I guess maybe awesomeness... Any way, who cares. (Sorry I keep adding "ness" to every word).

I have listened to Jackie every single day since I first experience her beautiful, rich, perfect singing voice on August 10, 2010. Alexa wakes me to Jackie every morning. Jackie is the last voice I hear before sleep.

Buttery smooth, perfect pitch, and wide classical range complete with gracefully nuanced vocals that are deliciously behind the beat...

She totally owns it - nobody else even approaches the threshold of her greatness.

Cool and refreshing, like water from a mountain spring.

3 David Gilmour David Jon Gilmour is an English singer, songwriter, composer, multi-instrumentalist, and record producer. He joined the progressive rock band Pink Floyd as guitarist and co-lead vocalist in 1968.

Something in that voice, perfect mix of course, vocal range, and deep-softness.

Listen to: Wish You Were Here, Hey You, Time, Dogs (chorus), and Run Like Hell

4 Johnnie Taylor Johnnie Harrison Taylor was a three-time Grammy-nominated American recording artist and songwriter who performed a wide variety of genres, from blues, rhythm and blues, soul, and gospel to pop, doo-wop and disco.

The man was a monster

5 Kurt Cobain Kurt Cobain was born February 20, 1967, in Aberdeen, Washington. In 1987, he started the grunge band Nirvana, which became one of the most successful bands ever. He was a talented yet troubled grunge performer. Kurt Cobain became a rock legend in the 1990s with his band. He committed suicide at his Seattle home in 1994.

He didn't have great range, but what he did have was a course/soft sarcastic voice with a great ability to change from a yelling chorus to a soft verse that a lot of people can't pull off (If you can manage to find their older stuff, (before bleach) then Kurt sounds a little like Paul McCarney when he did Helter Skelter). I might be a little partial b/c I'm from Seattle, so vote vote vote.

Listen to: Dumb, All Apologies, and Where Did You Sleep Last Night.

8 Roger Waters George Roger Waters is an English singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and composer. He is mostly known for being the secondary lead vocalist and bassist of Pink Floyd.

Almost didn't put this on here because some of his songs, if you listen to full course albums, his voice gets annoying. But 5/6 of his music is very interesting, unique, and cool. A tone of either being lost in pleasure or being lost and alone.

Listen To: Comfortably Numb, Another Brick In the Wall (Part 1 and 3), Vera, Pigs On The Wings (Part 1 & 2), dogs (verses), and Hey You (Chorus and last verse)

9 Lyfe Jennings
10 Eddie Vedder Eddie Vedder is an American musician, singer and songwriter best known as a member of the rock band Pearl Jam, with whom he performs lead vocals and is one of three guitarists.

Vedder probably has a better quality and abilitie in his voice then Cobain and Gilmour (and he sounds kinda like a cross between the two) or even maybe better then the whole list, but his style can get boring after a while, he seems to only do hard/fast and deep/slow/soft or both in one song, he doesn't change to much on each album (which is nice b/c you at least have assurance on how it will sound) which gets tiring.

Listen to: Jeremy, Just Breathe, and Even Flow

Jeremy is the coolest song ever

The Contenders

Guy Sebastian is one of my favourite Aussie singers.

13 Bob Marley Robert Nesta "Bob" Marley was a Jamaican reggae singer, songwriter, musician, and guitarist who achieved international fame and acclaim.

If you listen to a lot of reggae then you'll notice how unique Marley's voice is. Something about it sets him aside. Not to mention he wrote songs in a way that was new (back then) to reggae by including rock, but writing skills isn't a variable. This is coolest voices not artists.

Listen to: Could you be loved? , Three Little Birds, and Exodus

He has a cool voice, but gets annoying after about 40 min of listening, couldn't think of any other voice that was cool for a long period of time. I only liked him in Jackson 5 and early 80s stuff. I never liked him as a person but I'm not going there today...

I vote for Michael Jackson because he has a very BEAUTIFUL singing voice, along with amazing dance moves.

He is awesome... His voice is just mesmerising... He should be no. 1... Vote him up guys,

He has probably the most unique singing voice

His voice is extremely versatile. He can sing something as calming and quiet as blackbird and sing something as harsh as helter skelter. Personally, I think his voice is better than all the other Beatles. He needs to be higher

I don't know, I just like it...
