Top 10 Smartest Comic Book Superheroes

The Top Ten
1 Batman Batman aka Bruce Wayne is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. The character was created by artist Bob Kane and writer Bill Finger, and first appeared in Detective Comics #27. In film, he has been portrayed by Lewis Wilson, Robert Lowery, Adam West, Michael... read more

Bruce Wayne doesn't have any powers. Unlike a lot of other superheroes, the crimefighting life wasn't just handed to him. No, he had to work for it. And he did, since he was TEN YEARS OLD. He honed his body to physical perfection and trained his brain to mental and academic perfection.

He learned more than fifty languages, studied or obtained degrees in subjects like biology, maths, physics, mythology, advanced chemistry, technology, criminal justice, forensics, medical sciences, and more. Batman is considered the "World's Greatest Detective" a title that is not exaggerated.

Batman is considered the second smartest person on the ENTIRE planet, Lex Luthor being the first. However, Batman has single-handedly foiled Luthor's schemes more than once.

You could say that Superman has stopped Luthor on his own more than Batman, however, given the fact that Superman usually deducts Luthor's plan by using his super hearing and sight, it does not make him smarter than Batman, who resorts to his brain. Although fairly smart, Clark relies too much on his powers to be considered a genius.

Batman doesn't fully trust many people, and even those he does, he makes sure he is prepared to take them down if necessary. While Wonder Woman was angered by this, and Superman was hurt, Batman refused to play it by trust. He played it smart. He has a backup plan for everything, doesn't trust what he sees at first, and does not pick between two bad choices, but instead invents another one.

Batman is one of the greatest heroes in history, if not just for his amazing intellect. Without him as the League source of information and knowledge, they would have failed to save the world as many times as they have.

2 Iron Man Iron Man is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics, as well as its associated media. The character was created by writer and editor Stan Lee, developed by scripter Larry Lieber, and designed by artists Don Heck and Jack Kirby. He made his first appearance... read more

The persons who are on the second and third are true Ironman fans and as you all know that people will do anything to make their superhero first. Those two don't know who batman really is. It's not batman doesn't build his own suit. He does not build his suit in the Christian Bale series but wait till you see him build his suit with his own hands in the upcoming Batman v Superman. Not only does batman build his suit in the BVS but also in The Dark Knight Returns in which he defeats superman. So tell those two to shut their big mouth and speak what they know.

3 Mr. Fantastic

He should be no. 1 but sadly Batman And Ironman's popularity (and possibly there much better movies) have beaten out Mr. Fantastic for the top 2

in my opinion: the order should be:

1. Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic)
2. Tony Stark (Ironman)
3. Hank Pym (Ant-Man)
4. Bruce Bannor (Hulk)
5. T'Challa (Black Panther)
6. Bruce Wayne (Batman)
7. Clark Kent (Superman)
8. Dr. McCoy (Beast)
9. Charles Xavier (Prof. X)
10. Barry Allen/Wally West (Flash)

Spidey's smart but not top ten. Batman is really smart but not too 5.

I suppose reed Richard's has an iq of 264 whereas when we talk about batman it is just 196 and Tony stark is 207 then we have doctor strange and black panther after Peter parker having an iq from range 210 to 250. Reed Richard's has the capability to study cosmic rays and his observation is no match for batman's detective skills. Peter parker being young gives him a lead but reed Richard created a Telenor ter at the age of just 10, so this just blows every1 up (batman is just liked by every1 because of his pre-preparations)

4 Hulk Robert Bruce Banner, also known as The Hulk or Bruce Banner, is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby and was portrayed by Edward Norton and Mark Ruffalo in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

A big misconception is that hulk is dumb. Not true at all. Calm hulk is similar to banner in terms of intelligence. World War Hulk has all of banners smarts, and has massive combat intelligence.

He has the intellectual skills and talents of understanding the concepts of gamma radiation and the tesseract.

Bruce Banner should be on here instead. Hulk only thinks about being mad.

5 Spider-Man Spider-Man is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics existing in its shared universe. The character was created by writer-editor Stan Lee and writer-artist Steve Ditko, and first appeared in the anthology comic book Amazing Fantasy #15 (August 1962) in the... read more

He's cool with at, always being fighting crime with supreme wise power of them all. Web makes him smart at all. he bites spider so he became spiderman. he can fly around the world like superman but not like greenlantern who can fly the galaxy forever during Christmas. Sad to know its all over for the recent franchise. I love spiderman but stick only to one because how can he save the city if there is confusion who spiderman really is. I hope this is not the end of the world for the Avengers. Nick Fury is great but he's blind, man. The shield is with a star but spidey has spider on his pecs. that's scary. I don't like how Shazam dressed up. Tony has Iron suits. its heavy. I wonder how he can carry that . Spidey cannot punch that he might get hurt. Hulk can crumple that suit. Thor is gay. Black Widow is a spider but cannot walk tru walls like spiderman. She's a bitch. Ant man is small.

6 Black Panther T'Challa, better known as the Black Panther, is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. He was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in 1966, first appearing in Fantastic Four #52 (cover-dated July 1966) in the Silver Age of Comic Books. He is known to be the... read more

This guy is the king of Wakanda the most advanced city in the marvel universe and guess why because of Black Panther I don't think Iron man can say anything like that as a comeback. If you saw him in Captain America Civil War he was bad ass. He is totally smarter than Spidey he should definitely needs to be higher

He used a sound weapon against Ullyses and ate a Wakandan heart shaped herb which gave him his abilities and intelligence.

In the Marvel Universe Black Panther is the 8th smartest man on planet earth.

7 Professor X Professor Charles Francis Xavier is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics and is the founder and leader of the X-Men.

Charles Xavier was one of the few responsible for creating Cerebro and is an expert on genetic mutation. SHould be a spot higher.

Come on! He can read minds. He can displace people's consciousness in different dimensions.

He is the invincible, inconceivable, incredible...

8 Beast Beast is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics and is a founding member of the X-Men.

Hank Mcoy should be higher than Bruce Banner. He created a serum that can enhance and get rid of the mutant x-gene. He also assisted in the making of Cerebro.

Hank is easily one of the smartest comic supers ever to be on the pages of any comic book. Should be in the top 3... Actually it should go like this.
1. Mr.. Fantastic (Reed Richards)
2. Antman (Hank Pym)
3. Beast (Hank McCoy)

He is well known and trusted as smartest member of X Men.

9 Superman Superman is a comic character. And probably the first powerful superhero in the fictional world. Although the bat for sure is smarter, giving him a chance to fight against him, Superman is good at learning from his mistakes, or watching and learning from others. With this man of steal what lacks in strength makes up for intelligence.

He's been outsmarted so many times it's not even funny; consudering he's so much stronger than bat man how is it that he has been beat by him on so many occasions? Batman is smarter. A lot smarter. Fanboys stop voting for a hero for anything just because you like him

10 Brainiac 5

He has TWELFTH level intelligence. Saying batman is smarter than him because he has legions of fans is like saying Nicki Minaj is a better singer than Susan Boyle because she's more popular.

'Brainiac 5 possesses a twelfth level intellect. By comparison, 31st century Earth as a whole is a ninth level intellect.'

No contest.

Is intelligent enough to figure out a cure for death.

The Contenders

12 Flash The Flash is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. His first appearance was in October 1956 and was created by Robert Kanigher. His main ability is super speed through the Speed Force and can run at speeds exceeding light.

The Flash's brain can process things at extreme speeds, which makes him able to counter enemy moves before they even get close to him. He can read books super fast, which enables him to learn lots of things in seconds. He once ran all of the people in a burning building out onto the sidewalk, ran to the library to read hundreds of books, and used what he learned from the books to rebuild the entire building - all in a few seconds. He's mostly only known for his speed, and he should get more recognition for his creativity and ingenuity.
