Top 10 Songs to Describe Death

I'm a joyful person, my followers know that. But! Did you know that I'm also really morbid? Well here's a list to prove that!
The Top Ten
1 The Show Must Go On - Queen

This song reminds me of a soldier's death. Trying to break through and keep going but then slowly dies.

Perfectly describes it. This is definitely the best Queen song.

Dying of Aids, still sang his heart out.

Amazing vocal from Freddie. RIP

2 A Day In the Life - The Beatles

@visitor - the following line "he didn't notice that the light had changed" clearly shows that it was an accident of timing - there was no suicide implication. Entire context is important to derive meaning - not simply "chose the words which support your idea"

This song reminds me of death because this song tells a story about an average day. But at the end, you don't hear any regular sounds, it's just a loud piano that had just been banged on. Like if someone was shot or something fell. Well, I imagine it like that...

The line "He blew his mind out in a car" very plainly describes a suicide.

3 Stairway to Heaven - Led Zeppelin

Of course, the title explains itself. This song reminds me of a girl who's looking for something in her life before she dies. But in the end, she's buying a stairway to heaven.

4 Yesterday - The Beatles

I know this song is actually about a breakup, but it reminds me of a sad death, where the man who died felt like he didn't achieve enough.

5 Highway to Hell - AC/DC

Before you start laughing or rolling your eyes, listen. This song reminds of a death where someone felt like they could do anything. Race anyone on the road at any mile per hour, do drugs and sipping beer, but then later suddenly died within the, "And I'm going down... All the way! "

6 Hallowed Be Thy Name - Iron Maiden
7 Gimme Shelter - The Rolling Stones

This song reminds me of a death from an attack. Like if you're running for your life and some people are chasing the town shooting people and killing them. He's just a shot away!

8 More Than a Feeling - Boston

Finally! This song reminds me of a happy death. Where you feel like you lived the right life at the right time. And you finally did it. You lived life.

9 My Last Sunrise - Demons & Wizards
10 Fiddler on the Green - Demons & Wizards
The Contenders
11 Knockin On Heavens Door - Guns N' Roses

Excuse me but I believe an American chap, name of... Bobby Zimmerman I believe, actually wrote and recorded this song.

15 One - Metallica

About a soldier who is severely wounded by a landmine blind and unable to speak to other people, begging god to take his life from him, because he feels constant pain.
I hope this says enough.

16 Knockin' on Heaven's Door - Bob Dylan
17 A Past and Future Secret - Blind Guardian
18 Curse My Name - Blind Guardian

A song inspired by "The Tenure of Kings and Magistrates", a political writing by John Milton where he legitimizes the killing of a king who didn't carry out his duties.
This song always creates vivid images in my mind because its music perfectly matches the lyrical theme.

19 Haunted - Evanescence

This song reminds of a dark, saddening, scary, and lonely death.

20 Hurt - Nine Inch Nails
