Top 10 Greatest Songs of the First Half of the 2010s (2010-2014)
Well, the first half of the decade is nearly over. And as this has been a very... eventful 5 years in music, I say it's about time we look back on the decade so far, and pick out the best of the best, the most fun, emotional, or downright awesome music from the first half of the '10s.A Beautiful and haunting song sung by Jackie Evancho as only she can. Jackie makes anything that her voice touches turn into gold.
Jackie turns this song from Game of Thrones into a mournful anthem using the maturing lower register of her golden voice.
This song is great, the more I listen the more I hear.
There is complexity and simplicity at the same time,
As well as strange beauty.
Jackie Evancho. Remember her.
Has to be on the top 10.
HOLY CRAP THIS SONG IS AWESOME! Eminem is easily one of the best, if not THE best rapper alive. And as good as classic Eminem songs like Lose Yourself or Stan are, I say this is Eminem's best song. I don't even have much of an explanation for this one, it's just. so. AWESOME! Seriously, just go listen to it. Right now. You'll see what I mean.
Best rapper of All Time. I don't like This song. I hare It when people say that they are the best, he hasn't done that in his Whole career, Just like lebron James during the finale and he lost
THE BEST RAP SONG IN THE WORLD! Eminem is the best rapper in the world! I love it!
A lot people say A Thousand Suns was Linkin Park's worst albums. And yeah, in a lot of ways, it was.
But The Catalyst is just a damn amazing song. It's everything great about Linkin Park rolled into one.
A lot of people prefer Waiting For The End, and yeah, that song's pretty good to, but I say The Catalyst was just simply better.
It's definitely worth a listen.
It's too overplayed and overrated, but it's the best mainstream song when compared to the rest.
It's the most successful song according to Billboard, so it needs to be number 1
As critically acclaimed as it is commercially successful. It doesn't get any better than this!
I Love This song. Oh wait,I Don't. Otherwise I wouldn't Be posting anything
This song. This song is, in every way, undoubtedly, one of the greatest pieces of music I have ever heard. It's sort of difficult to put to words how amazing this song is.
Don't You Worry Child was the last song the Swedish House Mafia ever produced, and they could not have chosen a better note to go out on.
The production is just epic. John Martin's vocals are indreduble. And when this song comes to the chorus and the beat drops, it sends shivers up my spine.
The message of this song is basically this: when things are looking down and you're depressed, never give up hope: everybody has a purpose, and anybody can achieve greatness.
It's a shame to see the Swedish House Mafia break up, because this is very easily the greatest piece if electronic music I have ever heard.
Thank you, Swedish House Mafia.
Thank you for this masterpiece.
This isn't a pice a crap like most songs
They always be my favorite electronic artist thanks to this funky beat of a track.
Kanye West's best song possibly ever, "All Of The Lights" is a captivating, powerful story of struggle, familial issues, sadness, and losing grip on sanity. Coming from one of the greatest musical geniuses of our time, Kanye's rapping skills an lyrics are great as always, but the real power in this song is in the production, undoubtedly Kanye's best production to date. In the tradition of the rest of MBDTF, this song is jam-packed with guest singers, such as Rihanna, Kid Cudi, Fergie, and many others on the chorus, such as La Roux, John Legend, and even Elton John, making this a truly star-studded song. It even comes packed with a colorful, energetic music video (which DOES have a seizure warning, so be careful). Pure musical glory.

Pathetic list. I was looking for Runaway, but I'll support this song instead. And Linkin Park is terrible. Especially their modern stuff.
These songs sucks...really you don't know what real music is..wecking ball is noy good song and the video is porn.I don't want to talk about gangam style or bang bang...the only good songs are a sky full of star and rap god by Eminem
This song is crap. They all sing like sluts.
Um, sorry, but it can't be here. The song cam out in 2009, and it IS a masterpiece, but if we're talking about songs 2010-2014, we can't put it on here.
But if we could... GREAT SONG!
Ah, The Script. One of my all-time favorite bands hit this decade with one of the most inspirational, powerful ballads of all time. Danny is at the height of his vocal performance here, and the instrumentation is just as powerful as the singer. I was slightly concerned when I heard will.I.am was going to be involved, but god damn, he is at the best he has EVER been here. Just listening to this song gets you pumped up, ready to accomplish anything. It's basically the new Eye Of The Tiger.
Will.I.am and the Script should collaborate more
This is a great song!
This song is... Boring
Ladies and gentlemen, the ultimate party song.
It's fun, bouncy, catchy, energetic... Everything a party song needs to be. Just hearing the first few seconds of this song make me want to get up and dance uncontrollably. Having a bad day and want to cheer up? Listen to this song. In a good mood and want to party to something? Listen to this song. It's the universal cure for boredom.
YEAH! YEAH. YEAH!
Coldplay. What can be said about this incredible band that hasn't been said already?
A Sky Full Of Stars is easily one of Coldplay's best. Whilt lyrically it may be a simple love song, musically it is an experience. Produced by Avicii (one of my all-time favorite producers), the production on this masterpiece is sweeping, intense, and beautiful, all at the same time, and mixed with Chris Martin's haunting falsetto turns the song into musical perfection.
I love you, Coldplay. I just love you.
I can't get enough of this song! Let's just say that lately, I've been, I've been losing sleep just having this song playing in my head! Great song. Totally deserves to be way higher on the list; most of these I've never even heard of! Like, seriously?!
About the only good song on the list.
Ellie Goulding is one of the greatest new talents of the decade. And no song better captures her pure talent than Lights, a dark, aptmospheric tune that really gets in your head. It also has a very beautiful music video that perfectly matches the haunting tone of the song. Here's hoping Ellie Goulding can get many more hits in the future.
