Best Songs from the Album Viva la Vida by Coldplay

The Top Ten
1 Viva La Vida

Viva la Vida is not only the best song off of this album, but it is probably the greatest stadium anthem rock hit that you will ever hear live. Such energy that Chris puts into it!

This song is just beautiful, you know? It's it's amazing, it's incredible, it's magical, it really makes me Viva La Vida. It's sad, it's tragic, it's beautiful.

I truly love them all, but this one caught my attention the first day I heard it. It is my favorite song, and I love it with all my heart.

Lets not lie it's the best Coldplay song of all time, you feel so powerful and yet happy whilst listening to it

2 Violet Hill

The song has a completely unique atmosphere, and has lyrics that hit hard.

This song gives me goosebumps every time. I agree, it's so underrated.

Quite possibly the most underrated Coldplay song ever.

I love this song so much. I loved it since I was 3 years old. 10/10.

3 Lost!

Yeah seriously what is this doing down here? Like this other person said at least #2 please

It's a shame they don't play live more often. Great song

number 4!?
this gotta be at least number 2

4 Strawberry Swing

This song is what makes the album come together. The songs before are saying how screwed up the world is, but Strawberry Swing asks us to find the beauty in the world. It's the most important song on the album.

I love this song so much! It makes me happy, both musically and lyrically! GET THIS TO NUMBER 1! It deserves the number 1 spot on this list, trust me.

Amazing. Lyrics are beautiful, and instrumentation really helps create the feeling of sheer happiness the song is trying to convey

I really love the combination of guitars and what sounds like a violin in this song, it's so pleasant to listen to every time!

5 Lovers in Japan / Reign of Love

Such a great song. What make viva such a unique album is how it has double tracks and songs that over lap. Each song is like a piece to a puzzle. Lovers in Japan is my favorite coldplay song, and with reign of love, it is a perfect addition to viva la vida or death and all his friends

6 Death and All His Friends

That closing line is just amazing: "No I don't want to battle from beginning to end

I don't want a cycle of recycled revenge

I don't want to follow Death and all of his friends! " And we can't forget The Escapist at the end which, I think, is Jon Hopkin's best work.

What the heck?! This songs is completely beautiful. I honestly think this is the best song they ever wrote. The chord progression is just fantastic. Listen to this song and you will love Coldplay forever. :')

Love it. They tried doing the same thing in Mylo with up with the birds but it isn't as good as its predecessor, this masterpiece

Jonny Buckland pulls off breath-taking guitar at the very ending of this song.

7 Life in Technicolor

Best intro to the best album.

8 42

"Those who are dead are not dead they're just living in my head..."
Not one of the best but definitely one of the good ones.

9 Cemeteries of London
10 Yes

Criminally underrated. The string section in this song is absolutely gorgeous. There are some songs on this album you might get tired of after a few listens; not this one.

One of the most unique Coldplay songs every. The violin part is very chilling and the lyrics are powerful, if not somewhat morbid. Chinese Sleep Chant is good, too.

I have become so tired of this loneliness! Love the build-up in this song

The Contenders
11 Reign of Love
12 The Escapist
13 Chinese Sleep Chant
14 Lovers in Japan
15 Life in Technicolor II

This is actually the song on the music video, and it has absolutely incredible lyrics about the ups and downs of life. The background is so catchy, and has a lot of sound effects that match the atmosphere of the song, too.

16 Glass of Water

This is probably the most underrated Coldplay song ever. It's a beautiful song, very soothing.

One of the best Coldplay tracks. I think it was a huge mistake on Coldplay's part to leave it off of VLAODAAHF.

17 Prospekt's March / Poppyfields
18 Rainy Day

Very Underrated, listen to it, trust me

19 Now My Feet Won't Touch the Ground

I can sing the entire song and it's easily the best Coldplay song ever.
