Top 10 Songs Which Would've Been More Appropriate In a Clockwork Orange Than Singing In the Rain

Tip your hat to Britgirl for this idea guys.

We had a discussion about the "Singing In the Rain" scene from A Clockwork Orange. Being one of her favorite musicals, I asked her what she thought of the film and scene. She replied that she hated how such an innocent song was used for such a disgusting scene. And guess what?

I know it's my favorite movie and all, but I slightly agree.

It does example that this is nothing special and the Droogs do this any other average night, but couldn't Malcom McDowell use a more fitting tune? I know it was the first thing to pop in his head, but still.

Why Singing in the Rain?
The Top Ten
1 Symphony No. 5 - Beethoven

Bum bum bum bum. Yeah, Alex could've hummed this tune to show his love for Beethoven more maybe.

2 Ode to Joy: Symphony No. 9 - Beethoven

I think the innocence of "Singing in the Rain" was what made that scene truly horrifying.

Fun fact: Cary Grant also whistles Singing in the Rain in North by Northwest.

3 Eleanor Rigby - The Beatles

Both rather dark.

4 A Quick One, While He's Away - The Who

Personally, this pops into my head all the time. It is a catchy and rather fun tune, so why wouldn't he use it?

5 The Lemon Song - Led Zeppelin

Both rather perverted.

6 Heartbreak Hotel - Elvis Presley
7 Ring of Fire - Johnny Cash
8 My Generation - The Who

Definitely more appropriate! Haha wow MontyPython, I was kidding! Bravo on your choice of songs!

9 Maxwell's Silver Hammer - The Beatles
10 Hound Dog - Elvis Presley
The Contenders
11 Closer - Nine Inch Nails
12 Animal I Have Become - Three Days Grace
