41 The Birds The Birds

Way better than crap like "The Hills Have Eyes" - TheGreatest

I watched this for the first time when I was still just a little kid. I'm pretty sure this was my first full-on horror film experience. I felt uneasy around seagulls and crows for weeks afterwards. - BKAllmighty

Alferd Hitchcock is a genius to make such a horrific movie. - Baltimore1993

I really don't know why people sort this film under scary movies its nothing don't waste your time.

THE BEST HORROR MOVIE IN THE WORLD! HOW IS IT IN 82? And to the second person down from me it picked 1408 because add the numbers together

1+4=5+0=5+ 8= 13

13 the most unlucky number ever. - rushrules

It was one of the best horror movies...just like some real life haunted things places, this movie was really interesting and scary

I thought about it: What would happen if my locker number was 140-? I don't even want to type the number. I can already see the little thing in my vent in my room. Holy...
But one thing... Why did he chose 140-? Why not 666? It's more original. Well, spontaneous I guess...

43 The Blair Witch Project The Blair Witch Project

Ppl didn't get this movie that's why they hated it, The reason why they filmed scenes like them in the Shops or them havin' conversations is to make it seem real, e. g. anybody would film this stuff they filmed. And they didn't show the witch, because using your imagination is the scariest monster there is - roblist

This movie has always been the scariest movie for me because of the fact that you never really get to see the witch, but you know it's there. It amazes me how scary they made it while using pretty much three actors and virtually no special effects. The acting is so convincing I almost thought it was real, going into the forest will never be the same.

This was a horror movie which didn't need the physical presence of evil. the fear one feels is pure and the slight confusion among the characters which later becomes a conflict adds to the fear, to the chaos. The knowledge that they are being stalked and observed and the lack of it as to who or what it is that seems to be lurking in the brush subjected me to pure abject terrorThe ending is scary and confusing in the right proportions - I failed a test because of this movie - I couldn't think of anything but this story for weeks

I hated this horror film with a passion, I don't even think this film should be aloud in the horror section it was so bad. I love horror film but this is definitely the worst horror film I have ever seen!

The only movie to make me cry. It is so disturbing and emotional. That jump scene at the end is one hell of a jump scene!

Actually this movie was a mediocre for me, well it may seem OK, but this wasn't scary at all. Anyway, this movie wasn't so bad, at least it's emotional & well made. - Fan_of_Good_Music

46 Final Destination 2 Final Destination 2

I hate any Final Destination movie in the sense that it scares me really bad.

The third one has already made me swear off tanning beds, by the way, and I've never even been in one. - frostwiire

This movie is not that scary but I hate the feeling when you are waiting for the death of the characters and it is hard to expect the unexpected.. Err

The unexpected is what freaks me out and I have to scream when the killing happen. It is really not scary is the building up to the point is so

47 Insidious Insidious

I have seen almost every movie on this list, I don't scare easy but this movie almost made me piss myself like 12 different times. Left me lying in bed staring at the door making sure nothing was coming in.

Y is this movie so down below in the list... And look at the movies which r on the top... Is this a list of top horror movies or what? What's wrong with people they r voting for saw... COME ON

Ill personally keep it on 1st. All the classic horror fan following is just bs to me. No horror movie can be like this. Insidious is just horror and horror from the beginning till the end. The soundtrack alone is enough to give you sleepless nights. Watch the movie alone in the middle of night and slowly the horror surrounds you for many nights. It might induce you sleep paralysis beware.

This was some scary stuff, surprised it wasn't higher in the list

48 Killer Klowns from Outer Space Killer Klowns from Outer Space

This movie was awesome I loved it

This movie is hilarious and scary.
Second thought, the klowns were cute, especially the short, green haired clown.

49 Sinister Sinister

This movie scared the crap outta me. The plot kept me at the edge of my seat at all times. I found it really horrible the videos kept showing different methods of death but at the same time I found it really scary and interesting.

If you call yourself a horror "veteran" and movies like the ring, paranormal activity or woman in black didn't phase you. Watch this, its not so much scary as in creepily disturbing. When there is a jumpscare the initial shock does not break the suspense building up to it. Amazing movie with a solid story on a Saw II level of disturbing without being gory in the slightest.

This is the first movie Scare the hell out of me

50 [Rec] [Rec]

This is the scariest movie I've watched. I was so entranced by the movie and so shook up that it made a lasting impression on me. This is the inspiration for The Grudge many other modern horror classics, and it draws inspiration from movies like The Blair Witch Project with the shaky camera.

shaky camera work at its best and really screaming movie - pankaj1993

Amazing movie with a very realistic plot,. IT doesn't show ghosts or anyting but it has a very realistic plot that can happen anywhrer

51 Black Christmas (1974) Black Christmas (1974)

The imagery and cinematography in this film is brilliant. I only watched it for the first time a few months ago but I was waist deep into this movie. Strongly recommend it. It's CANADIAN also, which pleases me. - BKAllmighty

52 The Amityville Horror (1979) The Amityville Horror (1979)

Mad Me Scared To Sleep In A House That Looked Like That!!

Best horror picture I ever watched.. It should be at least top 5 rank. Each end every moment of the picture I really enjoyed. The ending part was very good..

Best out there ever. That is all I will say. The depth and suspense will send shivers down your spine, and also force you to think simultaneously. Just play the games.

I love this movie, but it's not really a horror movie. It would fit more into the action genre.

57 My Bloody Valentine My Bloody Valentine

Made me pee my pants and has a very good plot and good actors. - Shawn13

A good scary movie to watch and hence counter your fear with irregular heartbeat

Stephen kings best movie, other than the shining. Kathy bates oscar winning role will never fail to scare the crap out of you. This is a classic horror movie

59 Jeepers Creepers Jeepers Creepers

It's not the best but it would freak you out at night. I my self watched it at night, believe me couldn't slept that night

I love this film so much would have liked it to be higher up. It is definitely a film worth watching!

Very mysterious villian. We all who freddy is and jason and myers. Who is this. A surgon who made a deal with a demon that went horribly wrong. An angel cast out of heaven. Or prehaps he was a cowboy who killed lots of indians, that cursed him cause he dresses like one. Ancient evil maybe. We don't know. The musics both creepy and you can whistle along with it. And I found the reactions when people saw the monster in the movie to be pretty real.

60 The Thing (1982) The Thing (1982)

Wow, Shawn13 doesn't have great taste. See No Evil and My Bloody valentine? Are you serious? They aren't remotely scary or good movies. There are some good ones like Friday The 13th and Halloween (unless they are the remakes) but this guy needs to watch better movies.

Its really awesome. The things showed thought to have set by good innovative person.

This movie is already on 9th spot. This is not the remake. - Olive855
