The Contenders: Page 5XW
If everyone on this list watched this movie, it would guaranteed be in the top 5, along with House of a thousand corpses.. Anything Rob Zombie is genius.
Amazing. Show realistic, surreal, insane scenes of gore that with leave you in shock. Plus, the ending with Freebird is simply amazing.

New York Press granted it "The Scariest Movie Since The Ring"
95 minutes scary movie
I believe it will go to number 1 in no time. - AourangZaib
Scariest and creepiest movie and freaks you out! It looks like real movie... You can't call it fake movie
I still have nightmares even though I saw it ages ago!
Shivers just thinking about it.V3 Comments
Maybe not a Horror-Movie in the traditional sense, but terribly disturbing and shocking. At the time, it almost destroyed the careers of director Michael Powell and actor Carl Boehm, as it was very controversial and too daring for 1960 (and it's still now).
Final my ass note to filmmakers never use the word final cause if it makes money the studio will just make more and you'll end up looking stupid
Superb Horror movie...Last 20 minutes of movie scenes are too horrible.
Awesome direction and sound effects. No need to tell about it's horror effects. Name speaks itself
One man died while watching this movie
Brilliant movie, better than the already great first.V14 Comments
I love you babe.
Not the black and white but the 1988 version. This is a twisted story about a US bio-weapon that gets out of control. Very scary movie but the ending takes the cake. Must see. - lapana
It might not be scary, but it tells us an important lesson. You might want people to get in a fire and when that happens you feel sad because you actually don't hate them, you are just mad at them but that doesn't mean hate. My personal favorite is the gingerbread men because they are just so funny and scary at the same time. This should be at the top five most popular horror movies.
I wouldn't say it's the scariest, as I give that to (orig) Shutter, but this horror film has a great opening Jump Scare and a great atmosphere that makes you uncomfortable for the majority of the film, as well as revolting moments and terrifying mutants. It is also extremely rare to have a nearly all female cast, and considering screenwriter professors tell their students not to write women into lead roles, because men wont watch it, this film really surpassed expectations as a horror gem. My only gripe is the alternative ending that was adopted after the theatrical release--- I don't know they they do such things when the ending was great as is, and necessary to the sequel.
Holy hell! I haven't really, truly screamed in a movie other than this for as long as I can remember.... - heather
As if no one had put this on the list its a great horror movieV2 Comments
Hellraiser and Hellraiser 2 are just so great! They're unlike anything you've ever seen. Point in fact, they are so strange compared to most other horror films, which is half the reason they're so great. Clive Barker really pulled it off!
Better than the 1st.
Clive Barker is a horror genius. Doug Bradley as Pinhead is the best villain in a horror picture ever.
This and Hellraiser 1 should be on top 10
It had like 1jump scare but not scary at all by far
This is one of the greatest of all time. I can't begin to describe how awesome this movie is! - MRJ12744
Considering this movie actually was considered good by movie critics who only dis horror movies, I'd say this movie is definitely one of the best - u_maddox_bro
Pretty scary for me. It made my sister get scared and she run out of the house running like a little kid.V3 Comments
The final scene is what makes this movie the ultimate horror. I'm not gonna spoil it for you though.
This movie isn't really scary, it's just weird. And the poop scene is just gross!
It is a really good horror movie
Jeez man. Horror, comedy and iconic scenes, whats noy to like, especialy the scene where he is like sh then kills herV1 Comment
The first installment of Roman Polanski's Horror-Trilogy (the other two are 'Rosemary's Baby' and 'The Tenant') and an absolute classic psychological Horror-Thriller. Catherine Deneuve is brilliant in the lead role.
