I personally hate rap and it bothers me that everyone else likes it, because it means there I times when I have to listen to it. Now let me explain why I think listening to it is such a bad thing. Eminem is good, but aside from him, rap "music" does not require any lyrical or musical talent. People liking and agreeing with the opinions of rappers is ok, but the second they call it great music is when I begin to get annoyed. The genre is mostly people talking (that's right, talking, not singing) about how cool their cars are and how dope their shoes are and how they're better than everyone else. They are the opposite of that, they talk (I still mean TALK) a big game about how cool their life is when in truth if radios didn't accept them as gods their lives would be crap. None of them can play instruments, and those who can really shouldn't have become rappers. I like rock music (most subgenres) because when they are good, they are energetic, meaningful, engaging, feeling, and really require a lot of talent to make. They are intricate with great stories. Iron Maiden is my favorite band, because they have endless great riffs solos, and really cool, lyrically deep, stories. If more people realized that rap isn't music, the music industry would be one step further from falling apart.
