Best Thrash Metal Albums Not Released by the Big Four

Best Thrash Metal albums released by bands that aren't Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, or Anthrax.
The Top Ten
1 Bonded by Blood - Exodus

The riffs are so catchy and the vocals are chaotic and out of tune. Pure thrash at its finest. Had it been released when it was originally going to be it could've been the next Kill 'Em All.

This is the second best trash album right after Reign in Blood. There is just something special with this album and I think that this album is enough to place Exodus in "The Big Four"

It's not often when a band's debut album ends up being their best, let alone one of the best of all time.

Like reign in blood rust in peace ride the lightning... There is something special here!

2 Beneath the Remains - Sepultura

Sepultura has made too many good albums, Beneath the Remains is amazing.

Pure thrash at it's finest

3 The Years of Decay - Overkill

Can't believe this is at number 8. This album is beyond great. If you have not heard it than I say you need to

I can't get enough of Bobby's vocals.

4 The Legacy - Testament

Testament's debut album is competing with The New Order in my mind. They are both so good it's hard to decide which one is better.

5 Pleasure to Kill - Kreator

Fastest and probably craziest album I've ever heard next to Rust in Peace and Reign in Blood

Off pace drumming, chaotic riffing, extreme vocals, this album is wild!

6 Alice In Hell - Annihilator

Jeff Waters has got to be the finest thrash/speed metal guitarist. The riffs are killer and the solos are mesmerizing. As an aspiring guitarist, this is the album I look up to.

Annihilator's debut album is incredible - so good that every song is awesome but there are 3 masterpieces: Alison Hell, Human Insecticide and Schizos (Are Never Alone).

This album perfected Technical Thrash Metal. The riffs and solos are fast yet sophisticated.

It's like Slayer but much, much better... Jeff Waters is insane on the guitar.

7 Arise - Sepultura

Best Brazilian band of all time by far! This is from when Max was in Sepultura and the band was at their pinnacle.

8 The New Order - Testament

If the Big Four was expanded to a Big Five, Testament would be the fourth band. This album is crazy!

9 Horrorscope - Overkill

While I think The Years of Decay is great, I think this is their best album, and one of the best albums ever made. Every song from front to back is amazing.

Their first album with the two new recruited guitarists, Rob Cannavino & Merritt Gant.
An excellent thrash-metal album from start to end. One of their strongest album still to this date.
Best tracks: "thanks for nothing", "Blood Money","Bare bones", "Live young, Die free"

10 Fabulous Disaster - Exodus

The Last Act of Defiance, Fabulous Disaster, Verbal Razors, and Open Season are thrash anthems; I don't think the AC/DC/War covers detract at all.

The Contenders
11 Coma of Souls - Kreator
12 Darkness Descends - Dark Angel

Great songs: Black Prophecies, Darkness Descends, Merciless Death.

13 Time is Up - Havok

Best new wave thrash metal album.

14 By Inheritance - Artillery

Iron Maiden and Overkill had a baby. They named it Artillery.

Best Danish Album and best thrash album ever made!

This album is amazing, Morten and Michael show their melodic side while they still riff like machines! Flemming's vocals range from melodic to high pitched screaming. The stand out track here is without a doubt, "Khomaniac". It is a awesome thrash song and on my top 20 favorite thrash songs ever! Give this one a listen, this album is a must listen.

Listening to this now. One word, MASTERPIECE!

15 Mental Vortex - Coroner

technical thrash - considered as one of the most technical and proficient albums of thrash metal.

16 Practice What You Preach - Testament

The third in a trilogy of classic Testament albums, with "The Legacy" #1 and "The New Order" #2!

17 Phantom Antichrist - Kreator
18 Agent Orange - Sodom

Sodom is a great thrash band. Agent Orange was the one album that gave them commercial success, and the album was actually on the German charts.

19 The Ultra-Violence - Death Angel

Most underrated thrash band of all time. Death Angel is one of the best thrash bands ever in my opinion.

20 Doomsday for the Deceiver - Flotsam and Jetsam

Fire in the hole!

21 No Place For Disgrace - Flotsam and Jetsam
22 Extreme Aggression - Kreator
23 Time Does Not Heal - Dark Angel
24 Leave Scars - Dark Angel
25 The Art of Partying - Municipal Waste
