Which is the best romance novel that was ever written?
The Top Ten
1 Outlander by Diana Gabaldon

Stick with this book, it starts out slow but you will be rewarded with Characters you will love at the end of the day. Also surprises, with most romance you can see where it is headed, Diana Gabaldon has an amazing ability to create new and exciting plots that will keep you thinking

One of my all time favorites. Think I'm still in love a little with Jamie after all this time. Definitely a must read!

4 Me Before You by Jojo Moyes

This is euthanasia disguised as a love story. Bull book by bull author, not at all romantic, for bull readers.

The best ever. Really touching... A story that you can never forget.

Never read a more emotionally enthralling book before!

5 Five Feet Apart by Rachael Lippincott
6 To All the Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han

8 Along for the Ride by Sarah Dessen
9 Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

I've read this book at least 6 times. I think all the other books listed
Here, have a base in this book. Certainly Jane lived in a time where she
Herself didn't have the advantage these great authors did in reading other
Great works. A genius in character behavior and romance.

The first romantic novel, which introduced me to the world of romantic novels and made me realise that how beautiful this world is...I really have a great deal of appreciation for Jane Austen for such great work.

The novel is an example of what a true artist can achieve with ever so little!
Jane hersellf said that two or three families in a country village is a very thing to work on.
Likewise we find that here too like in rest of her novels she has turned her limitedness to greatest possible advantage! :-)

10 The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks
The Contenders
11 Knight in Shining Armor by Jude Devereaux

I think it's the best romance book I EVER read next to paradise by judith mcnaught... I couldn't stop thinking about colin and my tears were preety unstoppable in many places... Trust me it's a must have to read book for all the romance lovers out there... And I am judging from the hundreds of seventy two romance novels I have read.. I can't believe still thinking about the book makes my heart contract..

I was literally sobbing at the conclusion of this novel. It touch something so deep within my pysche that to this day, I both abhor and exalt the idea of a soulmate. I have never read it since, but truly cherish the memory of reading it, as it is one of the top three greatest romantic novels of all time.

12 It Had to Be You by Susan Elizabeth Phillips

One of my all time favorites! I absolutely love Phoebe! It had to be you is the first in the Chicago Stars series which I have also loved do far!

I wasn't expecting to, but it was a surprise how much I love the novel and connected series!

13 Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell
14 A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Sparks

I was expecting this to be a lot lower for some reason, I guess because I don't hear too many people talk about it - but I'm pleased it is actually in the top 10, where it deserves to be. It truly is the most beautiful, heart-wrenching romance story I've ever read. If you want an empowering read of pure, innocent love, then I highly recommend this one. The movie is just as good.

This book's pages will become wet with your tears! Truly a masterpiece. "I believe miracles can happen." This book itself is one!

I've been reading this book for 10 days and I can't stop reading it.
I love its story.

15 Lord of Scoundrels by Loretta Chase

Best romance novel ever - and I have read tonnes but nothing has ever come near to this wonderful book. It is a modern take on the beauty and the beast story where the hero due to his troubled past thinks that no one is capable of loving him. And then comes our fiesty heroine who turns the world upside down for him. A must read!

Loved this book! Kept me captivated from the beginning to end. It never got boring and it just kept getting better with each page! As soon as I finished it, I read it again!

Yes, best romance ever! The characters, dialogue and story make you want to follow them anywhere! Test of time and it is still a romance among romance!

16 Twilight by Stephenie Meyer

Intriguing... It will take you in a different world where you may get lost and never want to return back!

Every time I read it...felt like I read it for the first time..

Such an amazing novel ever... I just love bella and edward..!

17 The Girl You Left Behind by Jojo Moyes
18 Flowers from the Storm by Laura Kinsale
19 McKenzie's Mountain by Linda Howard

Some of the first Romances I read & still the best. These are keepers and I have reread them many times among other great authors. These characters will stick with you after you read the last page...

Anything by Linda Howard is perfection, but the McKenzie ' s will stay with you long after reading any of their novels. Also the fact that they personify sexy doesn't hurt either...

One of my favourite authors and series. You can't go wrong with LH!

20 Morning Glory by LaVyrle Spencer

Best book by LaVyrle Spencer by far is Bitter sweet and Family blessings. And don t forget November of the heart. All of the lovely...

I have all her books. I love them. I would like to find someone who writes just like her. I read a lot,but can't find books as good as her books.

I love anything LaVyrle wrote, but Morning Gloria and Twice Loved are my favorites.

21 Dream Man by Linda Howard

Great novel and sadly very realistic on real crime events.

22 Nobody's Baby But Mine by Susan Elizabeth Phillips
23 Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins
24 A Kingdom of Dreams by Judith McNaught

A Kingdom of Dreams is a wonderful book. I wish Judith McNaught could write more books like this one but her old books are better than her new books.
The problem with her new books is that hero and heroine of the books hardly spend time together so they do not connect enough.

Love Judith McNaught. Kingdom of dreams is a journey. Great story and beautifully written. Read it 3 times over the years.

Another one of my all time favourite authors. I have all her books!

25 Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte

It's my favorite novel of all time, and it should be number one on this list. I appreciate the fact that Jane Eyre is not merely a romance novel. The romance is a plot device to uphold the deeper themes of feminist ideals such as autonomy, independence, morality, and self-respect. While Mr. Rochester is indeed swoon-worthy with his dark, brooding, yet charming personality, there's more to Jane's personality and life than him alone.

Best love story ever, true love, passionate. Tackles themes such as redemption, abuse. Bigamy. Loss, rejection, a work of genius by a genius
