Top 10 Best Warrior Cats

The Top Ten
1 Firestar Firestar is a character in the Warrior Cats series. He becomes the leader of ThunderClan after Bluestar. He is mates with Sandstorm and has two kits: Squirrelflight and Leafpool. Formerly a kittypet named Rusty, Firestar is killed by fatal wounds inflicted by the spirit of Tigerstar and a falling tree... read more

He's great! He's basically the main character in the first six books, but you know...

He did great as a leader, and I think he really should be liked more. He may be "overrated," but he is still a legend and a lifesaver for many cats like Cloudtail, Brightheart, Bramblestar, and also Bluestar! He should have had a better death than being killed by a tree because that was the most random death ever. He should have had, like Scourge, come back and Bloodclan fight. That would've been good, but otherwise, Firestar's character is well-written. - Kat

2 Bluestar Bluestar is a character in the Warrior Cats series. She was one of the leaders of ThunderClan. She broke the code by being mates with Oakheart of RiverClan and having her kits, Stonefur and Mistyfoot, and Mosskit. Stonefur and Mistyfoot live in RiverClan, while Mosskit died of hypothermia. She has a... read more

Bluestar went through a lot. First, her mother died when she was an apprentice. Next, her sister died. After that, she had kits and had to give them away in order to become deputy so Thistleclaw didn't get it and kill the clan, which resulted in one of her three kits dying. Poor Bluestar. She deserved more, and though she broke the warrior code, she was still loyal.

At the end of her life, she went crazy, but she still saved Firestar (Fireheart at the time). I cried for so long when she died such a brave death.

I LOVE HER! The only beef I have with her is how she named poor Brightheart Lostface. But she did have a lot of trauma.

She definitely deserved better. She's also beautiful, and if all that stuff happened to me, I would also lose faith in StarClan too!

3 Yellowfang Yellowfang was a ThunderClan medicine cat in the original series of Warriors. She initially was a medicine cat from ShadowClan, but she was banished by her son, Brokenstar. She was then found by Firestar, who was then Firepaw, and brought into ThunderClan. Her last words were "Thank you for bringing... read more

Yellowfang is like that nice, classic, original grandma but with so much more about her. She has always been one of my favorite characters. I think I like her because of her personality, mostly for her snappy retorts but with a heart of gold. She also trained Cinderpaw even after she had her accident. Some people don't like Yellowfang because she killed her son and call her a murderer. However, Brokenstar killed kits, blamed that on Yellowfang, exiled Yellowfang, killed loads of cats, and fought in the Great Battle on the evil side. I could go on forever. The point is, what would have happened if Yellowfang hadn't killed Brokenstar? Think about that.

Feather Frost of SkyClan

4 Jayfeather Jayfeather is a character in the Warrior Cats series. He is part of The Three, along with Lionblaze and Dovewing, and has the power to read other cats' minds, emotions, and walk into other cats dreams, He was born blind. according to the Warrior Cats Wiki Jayfeather is a lean, mottled, pale gray tabby... read more

Bro is the single most powerful character (except in fighting) in the 3rd & 4th series. It is a bit of a shame he loses his powers after his prophecy shift, may I say, but he still is the legendary sarcastic, somehow knowing what you feel character. He is just cool.

He's so far my favorite cat. I like it when he is snappy and short-tempered, but I also really like when Jayfeather looks for Half Moon in The Last Hope. I was also sad for him when Briarlight died because she was one of his best friends. She didn't judge him, and there are so many things I can say about him.

When he said he wanted to be a med app, he felt bad for Brightheart, which surprised me, but I understood. I like how he talks back even to his clan leader and how he wondered how his short-tempered father, Crowfeather, was even his father. (And I realize it's not for him to say.) He felt a lot of grief over Briarlight, Leafpool, Hollyleaf, and Half Moon (though she didn't die).

- Duskstream, Medicine Cat of ThunderClan

5 Cinderpelt A Medicine Cat from the book series Warriors by Erin Hunter, she is a small, fluffy, sleek, and soft-furred she-cat with a smoky dark gray coat and wide blue eyes. Initially, she started out as a Warrior apprentice but was forced to train as a Medicine Cat after a monster broke her leg on the Thunderpath... read more

I read Cinderpelt's name in one of the books, and I get excited. I love Cinderpelt so much, and though she likes Firestar, she doesn't end up admitting it so she wouldn't break the warrior code, and so Firestar could get a better mate. When she dies from the badger attack, I thought I was going to die.

Also, (I said this about Spottedleaf too) she is much much better than Jayfeather, she deserves 4th, not 5th. People, vote for Cinderpelt because she rocks!

I always thought she was going to and is the best medicine cat. Off topic, but if I had to vote for the 11 best cats, I would vote for Yellowfang. Her death made me on the edge of tears! Anyway, Cinderpelt has a great personality, and I think she is very wise and is a great mentor. Cinderpelt always looked at both points of view before judging someone. That just by itself makes an outstanding character!

6 Hollyleaf Hollyleaf was one of the rare, strictly loyal cats of ThunderClan.

Her birth broke the warrior code, and she killed Ashfur in fear of him revealing the truth over her family. She lived in the tunnels for a while, before rejoining ThunderClan. Hollyleaf was slain by Hawkfrost and spent her last... read more

She was probably the most loyal cat in the history of the clans, since she stayed with it all her life. And she also stayed with the warrior code in the tunnels! She ALSO made a lot of the cats of the clans get the warrior code back.

I love Hollyleaf more than any other character, even more than her brothers. She was the most misunderstood cat in the entire series. When she was trapped behind a wall of fire and found out that her birth had broken two codes - both medicine and warrior - she was devastated.

Ashfur was determined to kill one of the cats that Squirrelflight loved most because she chose Brambleclaw over him. He tried to kill Lionblaze, Hollyleaf, and Jayfeather out of jealousy. Hollyleaf was fiercely protective of her brothers and wanted to keep them safe, no matter what. She didn't mean to kill Ashfur. She just wanted to prevent him from hurting her littermates. During the struggle, he fell into the river. Knowing she couldn't swim, she knew she couldn't help him.

Feeling guilty for what she had done, she ran away into the tunnels. She returned to her clan just in time for the Dark Forest battle and died while saving Ivypool from the savage claws of Hawkfrost. If you people don't consider that loyalty and bravery, I don't know what is. Hollyleaf's entire life revolved around the warrior code, and she never forgot what it meant to be a warrior. She was the cat who saved the clans. Unlike Ashfur, who tried to kill three cats and yet escapes judgment, Hollyleaf doesn't deserve a bad rap.

7 Graystripe Graystripe is a cat in a series Warrior Cats. He is named after the grey stripe that goes down his back. In the second book he falls in love with a cat named Silverstream. He is also friends with his childhood friend Firestar. He became mates with Millie who gave birth to their kits Blossomfall, Bumblestripe... read more

He was always loyal to ThunderClan, even when he was in RiverClan. That's why he switched clans again and followed his gut. It was mostly him being loyal to Firestar. Silverstream's death made me sad. If she didn't die, he would probably be in RiverClan and NOT have multiple wives. He was the right deputy in the end. But that's all I've read up to! Thank you so much for reading!

He sacrificed a lot of his loved ones to live, even his first litter. He was also a very loyal and caring cat. I think he is important because he was the first clan cat to invite and see Firestar (Rusty back then).

8 Squirrelflight Squirrelflight is a dark ginger she-cat with forest-green eyes. She has one white paw, short legs, a torn ear tip, glossy fur, and a long, squirrel-like, bushy tail. She has a scar running from her chest to the top of her hind leg along her right flank. She is a cat in the series called Warrior Cats... read more

I think she is a brave and strong warrior. She handles things well and is very likable because of her looks and personality! I mean, look how many boys were into her! Brambleclaw got lucky. She is very clever and solves problems by looking at things from a different point of view. She's also very stubborn and takes lots of risks, but personally, I think she matures from when she was an apprentice to a warrior. I would rate her personality a 7/10!

She is a bossy bat, but when she is serious, she is serious. She spends a lot of time resting for the next day, but she has had a lot of time in sadness because she wasn't able to have kits, or according to her prophecy. But then she was happy after she found out she was going to have kits of her own.

9 Spottedleaf Spottedleaf was a medicine cat under Bluestar's leadership in the forest territories. She was born as Spottedkit to Adderfang and Swiftbreeze alongside her littermates, Redkit and Willowkit. Initially, Spottedpaw was apprenticed to Thrushpelt; however, she decided to become a medicine cat with Featherwhisker... read more

Why did Spottedleaf have to die? So Sandstorm and Firestar could become mates? So Firestar could want lots of revenge on Clawface? Who knows! All I know is that I wish she didn't die. Though she loved Firestar, she knew they could never be together due to the warrior code. At least she thought of the warrior code first.

And, I mean, don't you people think that Spottedleaf is better than Squirrelflight, Hollyleaf, and Jayfeather? She deserves 6th.

Spottedleaf is the best warrior. She was mistreated by Thistleclaw when she was an apprentice but still was so sweet to Bluestar and Featherwhisker. She even tried to love again with Firestar. She also gave up her opportunity to become a warrior but decided to be a medicine cat because of Thistleclaw's danger.

As an official medicine cat, she attempted to save Firepaw, at the time, from Longtail in battle. She also sacrificed her life to save Frostfur's kits. So, I think that is a reasonable explanation for Spottedleaf to be the best Warrior.

10 Bramblestar Bramblestar is the leader of ThunderClan. His mate is Squrrielflight and his kits are Dandilionkit, Juniperkit, Sparkpelt and Alderheart. Bramblestar sister is Tawnypelt, his parents are Goldenflower and Tigerstar. Bramblestar is a huge and muscular dark brown tabby tom with amber eyes, he has sleek... read more

Brambleclaw is my favorite character! He was really cute when he was an apprentice, and I adored him as Brambleclaw, a noble, just, and brave warrior. He displayed true leadership and courage on the journey to the sun-drown-place and played a significant role in settling into the new territory. He endured scorn and hardships merely because he was the son of Tigerstar, but he overcame that dark legacy to become an excellent deputy. The authors could have preserved his character and made him a great leader, but they chose to dismantle his personality instead. And what's the deal with Jessy? The REAL Brambleclaw, a noble warrior and caring mate, would NOT have acted that way! Also, when he became Bramblestar, he acted too much like Firestar and developed a short temper. Regardless, Brambleclaw will always remain in my heart as a loyal and courageous warrior, the noble leader of ThunderClan ⚡.

The Contenders
11 Ivypool Ivypool is a fictional character created by Erin Hunter for the Book series named Warrior Cats. Ivypool is a common silver-and-white tabby. She spied in the Dark Forest and has dark blue eyes. She is the sister of Dovewing and the kit of Whitewing and Birchfall. Her mate is Fernsong, and she is the... read more

Ivypool's new role as a deputy is really big! She did so many awesome things in her lifetime, like spy on the most evil cats to save her Clan. She also fought hard in every battle! She gets my vote for sure.

I saw their arguments sometimes from outside the camp after I was exiled. Dovewing's behavior towards her was... I could barely believe it. Not to mention her ungratefulness about her power. Ivypool may have trained in the Dark Forest, but so did Crookedstar, and cats who criticize him are mouse-brained. Ivypool also spied at the risk of her life, instead of just running away, and fought against them when the time came. I was in the shadows of the Dark Forest after losing my family and all respect for me, but I admired her for standing up for them. -Ivyflower, exiled ThunderClan cat

12 Feathertail Feathertail is a fictional character created by Erin Hunter for the book series called Warrior Cats. She's a slender, silver-tabby she-cat with sky-blue eyes and a plump tail. She is the daughter of Silverstream and Graystripe, Stormfur's sister and Crowfeather's first love interest. She used to be... read more

I've never cried over a fictional story, but there are times I come pretty close. I've read about her death 100 times, and it gets harder each time. I love her graphic novel, and I love her friendship with Sasha (RIP friendship). I love her father, I love her mother, I love her parents' love story, I love her brother, and I love her. I love how she was part of the journey in The New Prophecy. I love everything about her, and I miss her so much.

Feathertail was such an amazing character. Honestly, she fell in love with someone she could never be with, she saved a ton of cats at the cost of her life, and her personality is epic.

So, to those people who hate FeatherCrow, I need to explain this: Crowpaw was almost a warrior. In fact, he was already quite mature compared to Squirrelpaw (who was a couple of moons younger). If you ship BrambleFlight, then it makes no sense not to ship this, as the BrambleFlight age gap is bigger. Also, Feathertail helped Crowpaw become the cat he couldn't be before (and his death made him so emo, nothing wrong with that).

Then her ultimate sacrifice, when she had EVERYTHING, was beautiful but also had me in tears. She deserved so much better than she got. She's my 100% favorite character.

13 Whitestorm Whitestorm is a fictional character in the Warriors novel series by Erin Hunter. He is a long-haired, sturdy, white tom with green eyes, and is known for his loyalty, wisdom, and calm demeanor. Whitestorm is a senior warrior of ThunderClan and has served as a mentor to many young apprentices. He is... read more

I love Whitestorm because he is just so brave and also very loyal. I like the fact that he was kin with Bluestar, because his mother was Snowfur, Bluestar's sister. He suffered a lot when Snowfur died. Plus, his father, Thistleclaw, was so very evil, but he didn't turn evil because of Snowfur's death and Thistleclaw's influence. I felt so upset when he died in the battle against BloodClan.

These are my opinions!

Whitestorm was a noble deputy. I could have intervened when he died, but I was too terrified. I blame myself for the loss of a true deputy. Graystripe was a terrible cat - he was loyal to no Clan, not even his birth Clan. His relationship with Silverstream was against the warrior code, and he lacked the foresight to see how kits would affect their relationship. I watched them from the shadows, hating myself for bringing this cat into a possible position of leadership. Then Brambleclaw came along. Brackenfur would have made a much better deputy, but no. However, the current deputy - and her most probable choice for deputy - is better than nothing. -Dusk, a loner

14 Crookedstar Crookedstar is a huge, light brown tabby tom with green eyes and a twisted jaw.

Crookedstar was a RiverClan leader in the forest territories. He was born as Stormkit to Rainflower and Shellheart alongside his brother, Oakkit. Following an accident in which he broke his jaw, Stormkit was renamed... read more

Did I ever mention my attempt to get into RiverClan? While poor Stormstar (yes, I'm calling him that. You can't stop me) was a 'paw, I pleaded to get in. Of course, it was a no, and I nearly died to a badger on my way out. Rainflower, that wretched cat, rejected him after one injury. Not the best mother. Many a time, I have wanted to shred her and demand she be a better mother. But I did not. Tread carefully, Stormstar. Your path is dark, even in StarClan.

- Echosplash, outcast of ThunderClan

He suffered. He was lost. He didn't know what to do. Y'all say Mapleshade had nothing to do with killing his whole family, and it was just his bad luck. Please, she was there, faking friendship and steering him down a dark path. No one tried to help him. His mother hated him. He rose through it all, though. He fought to be respected. If anyone earned the prefix star, it was him. It wasn't handed to him - unlike Firestar. He took his rightful place.

When he and his family were gone, I mourned as if one of my closest friends had died. Even if he was fictional, I knew him better than anyone in real life. Because that's what a character is supposed to do: give us an escape from reality.

15 Ravenpaw Ravenpaw is a fictional character created by Erin Hunter for the book series Warrior Cats. He's a skinny, jet-black tom with a small white dash on his chest, greens eyes and a long, thing white tipped tail. He is shy, jumpy and nervous... read more

I felt bad that Ravenpaw was so shy and distant. And most of all, he was caught up with the memory of Tigerclaw killing Redtail. I was happy when Tigerclaw/star got the punishment he deserved, and when Ravenpaw found his happy place with Barley. He is truly one of the most special cats in the first series.

- Kestrelsong, the RiverClan she-cat.

I never used to like him, but he grew on me. He had a lot of trauma at a young age, but he grew up and became an amazing cat. Also, Raven x Barley is finally canon, so he's one of the only confirmed gay cats in the series, which I also love about him. His death was so sad. I cried when I read it. I love Ravenpaw!

16 Crowfeather

He was a great character with so much conflict. I loved him and Feathertail so much. As for Leafpool... nah. I like Leafpool, and I like Crowfeather, but them together was awful. It was so unrealistic. I actually don't hate Nightcloud. She loved Crowfeather in the beginning and then realized he didn't love her back. She was also a single mom to Breezepelt. I loved Crowfeather's Trial. He and Breezepelt finally got along, and he became a great father!

Crowfeather is amazing! He lost so much. I can't blame him for being bitter. And he's not that bad of a father. He was just never given a chance. Everyone thinks he treated Nightcloud and Breezepelt horribly, but they're just as big of jerks to him, and they made up in Crowfeather's Trial. He and Nightcloud are even friends now! Harestar has been leader for long enough. It's time for Crowstar!

17 Silverstream SIlverstream is a character created by Erin Hunter to the book series named Warrior Cats. Silverstream is a sleek, soft, and thick-furred, slender, silver -and-black tabby she-cat with a finely shaped head, and bright blue eyes. She's the daughter of Crookedstar and Willowbreeze, former mate of Graystripe... read more

Based on how Erin Hunter (author of the series) described Silverstream, I immediately fell in love with her. She truly deserved Graystripe, and Graystripe deserved her. They were the perfect couple. I was so sad to hear how she died, delivering Graystripe's kits. She was a wonderful RiverClan warrior.

- Kestrelsong, the RiverClan she-cat.

What a good cat. She has had a rough life, given that her mother and siblings died when she was a kit. Now, she is a StarClan warrior, and her legacy lives on through her daughter. She was a wonderful cat, and I loved the moment she gave her heart to Graystripe. Their relationship was strong, and it was heartbreaking when she passed away. I wish she could have lived to see her two wonderful kits grow up. She will always be Graystripe's first love, and I firmly believe they should be together, while Millie should be the one to go. Millie was a poor mother who played favorites with her kits. I hope that when Graystripe joins StarClan, they will reunite.

18 Mapleshade Mapleshade is a character in the Warriors series by Erin Hunter. Mapleshade is a large, tortoiseshell-and-white she-cat, with a scarred white muzzle, and white patches throughout her pelt. She is thick-furred, and her pelt is ragged, patched, and scarred. Her fur is thick around her neck, like a mane,... read more

I personally think she is very interesting. There always has to be a killer! I honestly feel bad for her because of her kits dying. Like I said, her life is very interesting! And the way she just got away after killing those cats until finally she died. Her personality is nice too! Well, the good things about her. I think she just thought if her kits couldn't live, no one could. I haven't read much about her, but some people have spoiled to me that she died. All I've read is up to the fact her kits died. Sorry if some information is incorrect. She's a savage!

19 Brackenfur

Honestly, he never got too much love. He is Brightheart and Cinderpelt's brother! Everyone forgets about him!!! I love him. He is just such an awesome cat and needs more love! If you see this, vote for him, please!

-Bluehaze- of RiverClan

To me, Brackenfur seemed like a really good-looking cat. He was sweet and always wanted to know if anything was wrong. I hated that he had to live with the fact that *SPOILERS* Seedpaw and Sorreltail had passed. He seemed broken afterward, but he knew he had to stay strong for the sake of his clan. He always cared about his sister and was worried about her leg. Even though the books don't say this, I believe he would have done anything to have Cinderpelt train with him as an apprentice. I love you, Brackenfur!

20 Scourge Scourge is a villain the Warrior Cats series. He's the leader of BloodClan. He was bullied by his siblings, Socks and Ruby, in the past because he was the smallest out of his kin. One of his most notable features is his collar of dog teeth. Scourge is a small black tom with one white paw, ice-blue eyes,... read more

Scourge was a villain. Not necessarily evil, but a villain. But that's exactly why he's my favorite warrior cats character of all time- he has so much wasted potential. He ripped nine lives out of a leader twice his size, nearly took over the entire forest, and almost killed his half-brother. He built an entire society from a bunch of fighting, hungry alley cats. And his manga, Rise of Scourge, shows his utterly awesome backstory. Besides that, he wears the claws and teeth of his enemies, which is absolutely insane and cool, and overcame his disgusting, immature siblings. The most interesting warrior cats character ever, and I really wish that he had a few more pages.

21 Tallstar Tallstar is a large, black-and-white tom with a very long, thin, black tail with a white tail-tip, powerful shoulders, amber eyes, strong paws, short, thick fur, and a white muzzle and paws.

I never did see much of this cat. So there is not much to say. But I know his heart, and that is enough for me. He resides in StarClan, now. And Onestar is a good leader, even if he is a bit bristly towards my former Clan. Tallstar chose well.

- Echosplash, outcast of ThunderClan

I was a young warrior when he left. His father's open hatred of him was terrible. His kithood wasn't joyful, but he was a great cat, saving Sparrow's life instead of letting him die. I snuck out to follow him. It wasn't my mission, but I wanted to be his mate. Finding out Jake would always be his heart cat was difficult, but I found another cat. - Gorseleap of WindClan.

22 Leafpool Leafpool is a character in the Warrior Cats series. She's the daughter of Firestar and Sandstorm, sister of Squirrelflight, mate of Crowfeather, and mother of Jayfeather, Lionblaze, and Hollyleaf

Leafpool shouldn't be all the way down here. She sacrificed so much for the sake of her kits and clan, like protecting her kits from the unbearable secret.

She gave her life to save Moonlight's kits. She is such an underrated character and an amazing medicine cat. She should be first.

I like Leafpool. But when she went with Crowfeather, I was like, NO. NO WAY. It makes no sense! She talked to him three times before he confessed his love for her. Two of those times he was yelling at her, and the other time was a short, one-minute conversation. It was so unrealistic and a bad excuse to bring Holly, Lion, and Jay into the world. I love Crowfeather, but...I like Leafpool. She's cool and smart. I think Crowfeather didn't deserve her. Crowfeather was a jerk to her, and their relationship was WAY too quick.

23 Tigerstar Tigerstar is a villain in the Warriors series by Erin Hunter. Son of Leopardfoot and Pinestar, former mate of Goldenflower and Sasha, and father of Bramblestar, Tawnypelt, Mothwing, Hawkfrost, and Tadpole. This brown tabby cat almost causes the downfall of the clans. But is killed, firstly by Scourge,... read more

Tigerheart is SO amazing! I love his personality, his humor, his protectiveness, his caring, his courage, and his overall wholeness. He tried not to let Tigerstar's legacy get to him. He certainly made mistakes, but that is what is so beautiful about him! He has good comebacks, is smart, and strong.

He sticks to Dovewing, and after hearing that she's gone missing, goes after her. He also saved ShadowClan. They were always heading down a dark path, and Tigerheart made them a clan again. He made them strong, and he made them care. I have a whole sense of who he is, and he's such a well-developed cat. He is amazing!

24 Sandstorm

Sandstorm is one of my favorites! Her personality is so unique. I really liked how at first she hated Firepaw/heart/star, but then grew feelings for him. And oh boy, when he rescued her from almost off a cliff, I was like 'Yes. Perfect.' They are the perfect pair!

Sandstorm is the feisty, independent she-cat who is Firestar's REAL MATE in the books. Spottedleaf was just a sweet-smelling, pretty weirdo, while Sandstorm stood by Firestar for a long time and gave birth to his kits and had grandkits with him. Then she died, which was VERY sad. But then Firestar and Sandstorm are together in StarClan! - Shadow and Thunder Studios

25 Lionblaze Lionblaze is a character in the Warrior Cats series. He is part of The Three, along with Jayfeather and Dovewing, and has the power of being undefeated in battle. However, the power if removed from him after the Clans are saved from the Dark Forest. Lionblaze is a broad-shouldered, muscular, bright,... read more

He's great! He has some trouble with love (Cinderheart and Heathertail), and he fulfilled a prophecy. I believe he had the most useful power for ThunderClan anyway. It was kind of annoying how he reacted when he lost his power. It was almost as if he was trying to get himself killed and becomes headstrong in TBC. But in late PO3 and OOTS, he is a very good character. Also, just pointing out, in The Sight, Lionblaze says Hollyleaf will be the best fighter, and Hollyleaf says Lionblaze will be the best hunter. Ironic, right?
