Top Ten Toughest Sports Of All Time

The sport that requires you to be the biggest and the strongest, where nothing must stand in your way.
The Top Ten
1 Boxing Boxing is a martial art and combat sport in which two people wearing protective gloves throw punches at each other for a predetermined set of time in a boxing ring..

No other sport requires training and fitness as much as boxing does. It takes a daily routine of hard work: weight lifting, abs, rope skipping, heavy and speed bag punching, running very kilometers a day... It's not easy at all!

Why is ice hockey number 1

2 Ice Hockey Ice hockey is a contact team sport played on ice, usually in a rink, in which two teams of skaters use their sticks to shoot a vulcanized rubber puck into their opponent's net to score points.

I'm 12 years old. I have been playing since I was 7. Every practice I took, the coaches were barring down on me and I you say all you do is have a hockey stick and score a goal. BS! It's much harder than how it looks

I am 11 years old and I have been playing since I was 3 and hockey is so hard because I have already gotten 2 concussions and my friend has gotten 5 concussions in 2 years so you can't tell me hockey's not tough

I'm 13. I've been playing since I was 5. People say all you do is try to go after a small puck. That's crap. All the hits, drawn penalties, blood, fights, everything is hockey. I mean, to me, it's life

3 American Football

Totally should be ahead of soccer...

4 Basketball

The degree of difficulty is drastic...basketball is the only sport where people who have never actually played, will try and play pickup...I never played tennis, so you'll never see me trying to play singles in my spare time but EVERYONE believes they can play basketball...how wrong they are

5 Wrestling Wrestling is a combat sport involving grappling type techniques such as clinch fighting, throws and takedowns, joint locks, pins and other grappling holds.

I can understand rugby, but wrestling should be at least top 2. Wrestlers work the hardest even after cutting weight for a week. We constantly have to run so that we can be in better shape than we are. I have wrestled soccer players that came in and wrestle me and pass out after a 6 minute match. Wrestling is no joke and I wish people would stop treating it like that and step on the mat and see how it really is.

Toughest six minutes in sports

6 Martial Arts

Positioning is a key toughness to reach

7 Rugby

Try playing rugby with helmets and pads especially in open play and in mauls and sucks
Try playing football without pads
UNPLAYABLE
So nflers and ruggers need to appreciate each other

Rugby you don't have to we're stupid helmet, shoulder pads, or football pants. You just need to wear underwear, pants, Jersey, cleats and a shirt and also RUGBY ROCKS

helmet: hahahaha naive, protection: think again, being hospitalized god knows how many times: priceless.

No protection at all. Grueling.

8 Tennis Tennis is a racket sport that can be played individually against a single opponent or between two teams of two players each.

Extremely exerting and lack of technique can cause injury..Still an amazing sport though!

9 Gymnastics Gymnastics is a sport involving the performance of exercises requiring strength, flexibility, balance and control.

They do an insane amount of training and it takes a heavy toll on the body. There is a reason gymnasts seldom have long careers.

Learning and perfection ONE SKILL within ONE ROUTINE takes more grueling effort and SKILL than playing 3 games of Rugby.

In gymnastics you have to endure a lot of pain and learning new skills can often be scary and stressful.

Being Flexible and able to accuratley tumble

10 Soccer Association football, more commonly known as football or soccer, is a sport played between two teams of eleven players each. It is played with a spherical ball. The objective is to score the ball in the other teams goal.

Professional soccer requires very high endurance, speed, physical fitness etc. 9- minutes of almost non stop sprinting while opposing team tackles sometimes brutally. Very tough game at the high levels!

I'm a goalie and my knees have permanent damage from diving and skidding on the grass

The Contenders
11 Baseball Baseball is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of nine players each who take turns batting and fielding.

The hardest thing to do in sports is hit a baseball, but you don't know what pitch is coming

harder to throw a perfect games than to do anything else in sports

12 Sumo Wrestling
13 Chess Boxing
14 Hurling

Countless broken fingers, torn ACL, my shins are in bits from getting hit there with a hurl and having to get stitches. You have to wear a helmet and that only came in in the last 2 years no one wears shin pads. Loads of lads have got there teeth knocked out, many games have been abandoned. The game is played at a sprint pace and not much time to think when you get the ball.

Broke my jaw and still hurled on (55minutes) till the match was over! Not many sport lads do that they look to be taken off! Soccer shouldn't be near the top 10!

Toughest and fastest field sport on earth, period

15 Water Polo

If you've Ever seriously thought about playing water polo, you've probably heard about the 'nail cutting' that players are subject to. That's right our nails (in my circuit) can't pass the end of our fingers, while they do check hands well, they almost never check toes. I have scars on my legs from being cut up by other girls with their feet (and I'm sure I've left a few). We're wearing less padding then soccer or rugby. And we have to tread all while people are thrashing at us.

Having someone dragging on you wi'll having to tredd water for 8 minutes straight and having to sprint with a ball not to mention also trying to score in the slot with 3-4 other players trying to attack you aha soccer are you kidding me it is the wimmpiest sport of all I think it shouldn't even be on this list water polo 2nd but I agree with rugby

Water polo is a crazy and often barbaric sport. Six swimmers beat the crap out of six other swimmers, and they wear no kind of armor at all except for the ear guards. I think water polo should be number one!

Water polo is intense. And this includes just swimming, which I can't believe isn't even on the list! Water polo tests your endurance extremely.
