Top Ten Most Underrated Pink Floyd Albums

The Top Ten
1 Atom Heart Mother

This album is a masterpiece of trippy music. All of this is enjoyable, althought there are some parts that are kinda boring, like the experimental non-musical part on the eponymous suite, or the breakfast bits on the last song. Summer 68 is the gem of the record. Prog Rock in great style.

The greatest Pink Floyd album ever. It has the Atom Heart Mother Suite, which is almost perfect. Then it comes If, a masterpiece. Summer 68' is so underrated. Fat Old Sun is good. Alan's Psychedelic Breakfast is... is... Is a trip.

Truly one of their better albums. Atom Heart Mother Suite, the 23 minute instrumental, is in my personal top 3 favorite Pink Floyd songs.

This Album is so underrated, I mean it has so many good songs on it it's not even funny.

2 Obscured by Clouds

All the songs in this album are relaxing and more mellow in general. After analyzing the lyrics and giving the album some good listens however, you'll find how sharp the songwriting is.

This soundtrack is also underrated. Just listen to Obscured by clouds, Wot's... uh the deal, Childhood's end, Free four.o

Very good for just a calm listen.

3 A Saucerful of Secrets

While it's not as good as their 1970's albums overall, A Saucerful of Secrets was a very important step forward for the band as they found their sound, especially with the title track and Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun. I especially enjoy the title track.

Why is Saucerful so underrated? People probably didn't get into it because they couldn't find the appropriate time to listen to it. Try it at night in bed, it's relaxing.

Let There Be More Light, Remember A Day, Set Controls for the heart of the Sun, Corporal Clegg, The title track, Jugband Blues so much great songs it's not even funny.

This album failed to be in the top 200 billboard in america. But at least it reached number 9 in the United kingdom.

4 The Piper at the Gates of Dawn

Interstellar Overdrive is a classic, one of my favorite riffs ever. I love Lucifer Sam, Astronomy Domine, Matilda Mother, The Gnome, and I even like Pow R. Toc. H and Bike, but this isn't underrated. It is in almost every list of the Greatest Albums of the 60s or of all time. Syd Barrett left Pink Floyd too soon. He was a legend. Wish You Were Here is my favorite, just because it's his tribute. LEGEND. I think he deserves a Greatest Hits compilation called like that, more than Bob Marley

I hate people who go oh I know Pink Floyd yeah their stuffs great. Then I say have you ever heard of Syd Barrett? They reply with who's that? Really gets in my nerves

People in the 60s just didn't see the epicness in pink floyd, they were all scared off. It sounds like your walking through a farm tale! Just listen to flaming.

It's good, for NOT for everyone. I can see why it's so underrated. Very psychedelic.

5 The Division Bell

It has High Hopes, Poles Apart, A great Day for Freedom, Wearing the Inside out are really good songs, great album.

One of the Best Albums of Pink Floyd. Roger Waters was simply envious, because this album was without him.

High Hopes is just epic. There are other awesome songs too!

I just love it pure and simple.

6 Meddle

Echoes, One of These Days, and Fearless are what I love this album for!

Includes the legendary Echoes.

This is one of the most solid albums they've made, with no weak links throughout

7 The Final Cut

I personally believe that this is their most underrated album. It just has so much emotion with the lyrics and the music. Some of the songs are much better than others but if I only could listen to one of their albums, this is it.

I personally didn't like this album. It's really the only Pink Floyd album where I didn't like a single song on it. It's not bad, but boring. Lyrics are good (Roger Waters, of course) but that's it.

There are some songs on this album that I really enjoy.

People say the don't like this album but I love it.

8 More

This album is so underrated. Ok, it has some boring instrumentals (More blues, Quicksilver, Party sequence), but songs such as Cirrus minor 5/5, The nile song 4,5/5, Crying song 4/5, Green is the colour 4,5/5, Cymbaline 5/5, Main theme 4,5/5 and Dramatic theme 4/5 are very good.

By far THE most underrated PF album. One of their best albums, only Party Sequence and A Spanish Piece are mediocre - only to underline the move, leaving 11 beauties that stands on their own and make an very coherant album!

A true PF album, not the ugly stuff they made after Animals. Try to swap any of those for this one and dream away.

Listen to "Cirrus Minor", "The Nile Song", "Green Is The Colour", "Cymbaline" and "Main Theme"... this album ist good

9 Animals

It's not underrated overall, but when it compares to the other albums in the band's era widely considered to be the best, then yeah it's underrated. Most people love Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, and The Wall more, and those are all fantastic, but it would be nice if Animals was properly seen as on par with these stellar albums.

It was unfortunate that this fantastic album got stuck between Pink Floyd's 3 greatest albums. First there was of course Dark Side of the Moon, then the comeback Wish You Were Here. Then this came out and after that The Wall. This doesn't get as much praise as it should

Animals is probably not as popular as the other classics because of the huge change in the feel. Everything sounded warm and fun. Wish Y Were Here had a very comforting feel but 2 years later, you have a new album with a cold dark feel. That's why it didn't do as well. But, it was actually one of the biggest albums by them on the other hand.

This might just be my favourite Floyd album. It's very progressive, and I don't think I've ever skipped a track.

10 A Momentary Lapse of Reason

#10?
Way better than Final Cut. It's a shame people neglict this album only because Waters was not in it. In this album & in Division Bell David Gilmour proved Pink Floyd could still be the same without Waters.

On the Turning Away, Learning to fly, Sorrow... These songs are better than most of the songs in The Wall and albums below.

Not that bad of a album

I don't understand why everybody hates this album I mean the music is incredible

The Contenders
11 The Endless River

Not a lot of people know about this album. It was made in 2014 by Gilmour and Mason. The whole album is instrumental except for the last song. It's great.

12 Ummagumma

this seems like the most creative and carefree of all Pink Floyd's albums. Later on, the band, I believe especially Waters became frustrated and and cynical. They were still putting out fantastic music though. Oh man, Richard Wright was fantastic in this one too.

The Live songs on the first disc are awesome, but disc 2 has only 2 good songs : Grandchester Meadows and The Narrow Way. Other than that this album sucks

I like this album mostly because of the live songs.

13 Wish You Were Here

It is not underrated, but, if The Dark Side of the Moon is here... I think it's more underrated than that

I'm voting for this not because I think it is the most underrated, but because I think it should be higher than DSOTM.

14 Relics
15 The Dark Side of the Moon

No it is not. This album was pure genius. Every band member gets credit for creating one the best albums ever. The sales prove it.

16 The Wall

It's not underrated, but every other album by Pink Floyd was on this list, so I figured I'd add this one so all of the studio albums can be voted for here.

This isn't underrated, but it still deserves its praise.
