Top Ten Most Useless Educational Children's Shows

The Top Ten
1 Dora the Explorer Dora the Explorer (2000 - 2019) is an American preschool educational animated TV series created by Chris Gifford, Valerie Walsh, and Eric Weiner in which Dora goes on adventures with her friend, a monkey named Boots.

It teaches Spanish, but the words are so bland and repetitive. All they teach you is how to count to 10 and other basic stuff that almost everyone already knows. Characters also aren't good either. The show features a little girl and monkey going on adventures WITHOUT THEIR PARENTS. The main "villain" is Swiper, a dumb fox who tries to steal their things in every episode.

Every episode is repetitive and the cartoon barely teaches anything that kids don't already know except a couple of Spanish words but they might as well use Rosetta Stone because they won't get too far with the language if they try and use this as a main source. I don't know if this or the one where she's a teenager is worse.

I HATE THIS SHOW It's SO STUPID! At first I thought this was a computer game but no its about a retarded four year old girl going on stupid adventures BY HERSELF with her monkey named boots when I has four when I used to watch the show I liked but now I THINK It's SO RETARDED AND LAME! Like seriously Dora: WHERES THE MOUNTAIN? Me: Right next to you Dora: WHERES THE MOUNTAIN? Me: RIGHT OVER THERE YOU RETARD Dora: THERE IT IS! Me: Thank god so yeah if you want something that will teach and entertain your kids please do not watch this show watch something else like PAW Patrol Or Miraitchi And Clulutchi TRUST ME ITS TEN TIMES BETTER THAN THIS RETARDED SHOW

People try to defend the show saying it teaches Spanish. It only shows like what... 5% of Spanish per episode. Even if it showed more 2 year olds wouldn't even notice the educational bits.

2 Teletubbies Teletubbies is a British pre-school children's television series created by Ragdoll Productions' Anne Wood CBE and Andrew Davenport, who wrote each of the show's 365 episodes. It is owned by Canadian Studio WildBrain, which is the largest independent Children's and Adolescent's Film Studio

I don't even see any educational value in Teletubbies. All the show is about is four Teletubbies who do nothing but eat and play under a sun that has a baby for a face. On the bright side, at least it's not as bad as Barney and Friends and Dora the Explorer. Still, Teletubbies sucks.

The spin-off Teletubbies Everywhere (2002) was supposed to be the educational show. Teletubbies Everywhere shorter episodes - Funny games, playing with numbers, naming and simple logic.

Oh people whine that there's no education, conflict. Maybe the Teletubbies is better for relaxation.

Teletubbies, that show you thought was about space aliens trying to invite your brain...

3 Boohbah Boohbah is a British children's television programme created by Anne Wood. It premiered on 14 April 2003 on ITV in the United Kingdom, followed by its Nick Jr.

Its difficult to believe this was made by the people who made Teletubbies who had more of a life and could say words "Run Away, Big Hug, Again Again" This is like a dumbed down Teletubbies or its for very young babies. But there's nothing satanic in it that's stupid as Christians who called Teletubbies satan.

This show is supposed to promote fitness, but my best friend from high school disagreed because these creatures are fat. Plus, the show looks like it was made on drugs.

Has no educational purpose what-so-ever. Also a minor satanic ritual is preformed in every single one of the 104 episodes of this show.

This is Obviously a Teletubbies family member, its not as bad as Teletubbies, but this is way too babyish

4 Caillou Caillou is a Canadian educational children's television series that was first shown on Teletoon (both English and French versions), with its first episode airing on the former channel on September 15, 1997; the show later moved to Treehouse TV, with its final episode being shown on that channel on October 3, 2010. The show was animated in Canada by CINAR Corporation (later Cookie Jar Entertainment), In season 5, the show was animated by South African-based studio, Clockwork Zoo. The show, based on the books by Hélène Desputeaux, focuses on a four-year-old boy named Caillou who is fascinated by the world around him.

Why isn't this number one? This show basically teaches you that if you whine for what you want, then you'll get it. I have a friend that wasn't allowed to watch Caillou when he was little because his parents didn't want him to turn into a little brat like Caillou.

The only thing this teaches you is to whine and you will get what you want. I used to watch this when I was younger but now I think it is stupid.

The white Little Bill except Bill wasn't a whiny little snot. Also why is Caillou bald but Rosie (his baby sister) has a full head of hair?

Duh Caillou is a whiny baby and he is stupid. Plus he never changes an age and he is four years-old forever also has cancer

5 Barney and Friends Barney & Friends is an American children's television series aimed at children from ages 1 to 8, created by Sheryl Leach and produced by HIT Entertainment. It premiered on PBS on April 6, 1992. The series features the title character Barney, a purple anthropomorphic tyrannosaurus rex who conveys educational messages through songs and small dance routines with a friendly, optimistic attitude. Despite the show being popular with kids, the University of Chicago professor W. J. T. Mitchell's book The Last Dinosaur Book: The Life and Times of a Cultural Icon, he notes that the program is often a target for parody and negative attacks by children of various ages, adolescents, and adults in the United ...read more.

This show should not be here. I was a child back when Barney was a brand new show and it was very beneficial to my learning. So few of the people who even use this site were even alive during this show's prime years so where is this judgement coming from? Even during it's later years the show was beneficial to children's learning. Don't just follow the crowd when you vote on this list. Vote against a show that WAS actually useless like 'Yo Gabba Gabba' or something.

Does anyone even remember anything good of educational value that came out of this stupid live-action kids show atrocity?

Barney smiles way too much and if anyone does this all the time in certain situations that's bad

If it was only Seasons 9 or 10-14 then yes. The older seasons are actually underrated.

6 Go, Diego, Go! Go, Diego, Go! is an American animated educational interactive children's television program that originally aired on the Nickelodeon children's cable network in the United States and produced by Nickelodeon Animation Studio .

8 Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Mickey Mouse Clubhouse is an American computer-animated interactive children's television series which aired from May 5, 2006, to November 6, 2016. The series, Disney Television Animation's first computer animated series, is aimed at preschoolers.

This show is probably even more useless than Dora. It teaches NOTHING WHATSOEVER. Just how to count along (which I'm sure the children watching this already know how to do) with the characters being unrealistically dumb.

Never turn a cartoon icon like Mickey Mouse into a useless educational program.

Maybe younger kids who haven't learnt how to count. Around the age of three.

Whoever turned my boi Mickey Mouse into a toddler's show? Where's the R18 version of Mickey Mouse?

9 Yo Gabba Gabba Yo Gabba Gabba! is an American live action/puppet children's television show starring five costumed toys-come-to-life and their friend DJ Lance Rock.

I remember briefly watching this as a kid. The DJ guy was pretty cool, everything else was just... well... you tell me.

I literally don't understand anything about this show.

It's basically Barney and Friends 2.0.

What No... I loved this show as a kid :0

10 Dora and Friends: Into the City Dora and Friends: Into the City! is an American CGI interactive educational animated television series.

This thing is worse than Dora The Explorer

The Contenders

This show can be so annoying sometimes. For example, they repeat plot lines that might have been already done before. Also, do the characters have to always say bark BEFORE THEY DECIDE TO TALK NORMALLY?

This show is so stupid. The last time I saw an episode, the mayor and her stupid chicken were on a plane with a girl and their plane needed to b repaired. The girl got her sleeve stuck, and didn’t even think to rip it off with her other hand, ask the mayor for something sharp, or anything like that. Th mayor called the paw patrol instead. It’s not an emergency, so just handle it yourself.

This is probably one of the most overrated preschool shows out there.

This show is targeted to preschoolers. The characters themselves are preschoolers, yet they're learning stuff that 4th-5th graders learn.

Ugly characters

13 Peppa Pig Peppa Pig is a British preschool animated television series directed and produced by Astley Baker Davies in association with Entertainment One, which originally aired on 31 May 2004. It went on a hiatus for just over two years before re-premiering on 14 February 2015.

Peppa abuses her father all the time and calls him names. She moans and whines non stop and even though it was my favourite show it's not educational towards children

She abuses her father on a regular basis and moans and whines non stop.Although this is one of my favourite shows its not educational towards children

Peppa Pig is NOT educational, in fact Peppa doesn't teach kids ANYTHING, except she has a lot to learn.

The animation sucks and an episode was BANNED in Australia

14 Max & Ruby Max & Ruby is a Canadian children's animated television series produced by Nelvana Limited based on the book series by Rosemary Wells.
15 Bob the Builder Bob the Builder is a British children's animated television show created by Keith Chapman. In the original series, Bob appears in a stop motion animated programme as a building contractor, specialising in masonry, along with his colleague Wendy, various neighbours and friends, and their gang of anthropomorphised work-vehicles and equipment. The show is broadcast in many countries, but originates from the United Kingdom where Bob is voiced by English actor Neil Morrissey. The show was later created using CGI animation starting with the spin-off series Ready, Steady, Build!.

It used to be a classic, but like many shows, they've moved on to CGI, and it's just not the same anymore.

Bob the builder can we fix it? Bob the builder yes we can! I only rember this part of the theme song.

Dangerous. Scary show.

This actually kinda touches down on fractions.

I've never even heard of this show lol.

17 Baby Looney Tunes Baby Looney Tunes is an American animated television series taking place in an alternate universe depicting the Looney Tunes characters as toddler and preschool versions of themselves. It was produced by Warner Bros. Animation.

Who on earth had watched The Who Said That episode. Daffy Duck taught a swear word that sounded like a rubber ducky.

I like Baby Sylvester

18 Ratafak Plachta

Have Drax the Destroyer (Guardians of the Galaxy) destroy this hideous creature

What the hell?

19 Jigsaw

Welcome to creepy retro shows.

Lol, looks creepy

20 Wonder Pets Wonder Pets! is an American animated children's television series. It debuted March 3, 2006, on the Nick Jr. block of the Nickelodeon cable television network and Noggin (now Nick Jr.) on December 27, 2006.

The message is good but the plot is super repetitive and the singing voices are really annoying.

Who would keep a duck as a pet?

I loved this one as a kiddo!

21 Bubble Guppies Bubble Guppies is an American-Canadian animated television series targeted at preschoolers, which premiered in 2011. Corny name, ugly hair, cheesy music, this show sucks!

22 Little Einsteins Little Einsteins is an American animated children's television series on Playhouse Disney. The educational preschool series was developed for television by Douglas Wood who created the concept and characters, and a subsequent team headed by Emmy Award-winning director Aidan Abril and JoJo's Circus co-creator Eric Weiner, and produced by Curious Pictures and The Baby Einstein Company.

I know the name of the show is Little Einsteins, but trying to teach world culture and the arts to little kids is a bit TOO COMPLICATED, don't you think?! I know it's trying to be useful, but it's actually rather useless if the show is on a more advanced level than what little kids watch for an educational television program!

Let your kids become know-it-alls! I researched them and they're just fine! Why!

Easily the most useless. I could see a little kid being entertained by Dora or Barney, but this is the worst of the preschool lot.

It does teach you about friendship but the problem is that they just do one thing their entire lives.

It's stupid. Now my siblings think that Shetland ponies are "supposed to be pink".

"If a show claims that it teaches freindship then it actually doesn't teach you anything at all." - me

25 VeggieTales in the House

This show ruined the original VeggieTales by making everything more childish. Bob acts like a child, Larry is Modern SpongeBob and they replaced my favorite character with a Squidward ripoff. They barely even talk about God anymore!
