Top Ten Ways the Lion King Is Better Than Frozen

The Top Ten
1 The Characters

This is a large factor in the movies. The characters in the Lion King all have different personalities that work together well and shine through. Even with characters like Sarabi and Rafiki You can tell what type of personality they have by observing the way the talk, walk, and carry themselves. The Lion King characters are like humans with animals bodies, they aren't to corny, or serious, bland, dry, (not even Zazu). Every single detail down to their names fits with who they are.

No character is perfect. Every single one is relatable. Simba is so deep in his own sorrow that he can't see how stupid he's being. Scar is evil and jealous. Rafiki is crazy (I love Rafiki so much). And even Mufasa has a temper! I love the characters in Lion King. I'm starring in the Lion King right now and enjoying it immensely.

I know ElectricDragon505 has an idiotic side, but how the hell could he give the characters of Frozen a 10/10?! You can't really feel for the characters. And the characters in The Lion King... they are quite three-dimensional, especially Simba!

Exactly, Simba, Mufasa, Scar, Rafiki, Shenzi, Banzai, Ed, Zazu, Timon, Pumbaa, Nala, Sarabi, Sarafina, the Hyena clan and even that rodent that talked to Zazu are all amazing characters

2 The Music

The Lion kings music fit well with the story, it came in at the right time, and the instrumentals went along with what was going on in a certain scene. The music makes Me feel something, for instance at the end when Simba climbs pride rock it symbolizes everything He and the others went through in the movie, the clouds clear, the rain washes all of those worthless bones away that the hyenas chewed on, symbolizing a new beginning, the smoke clears, and Simba turns from a young prince to a true King as His Father speaks to Him from above. It all works so well together is can only be described as wonderful.

, the music is so amazing, I love them all. Circle of Life is one of the greatest movie opening scenes in history and is the best animated movie opening in history, I Just Can't Wait to be King is a really fun, catchy and a song to get you pumped, Be Prepared is the greatest villain song in movie history, Can You Feel The Love Tonight is one of the greatest love song in all movie history and is the best love song in animated movie history, Hakuna Matata is really catchy, funny, and gives us a good perspective on Timon and Pumbaa!

Hakuna Matata is 100x better than Let It Go, even though Nostalgia Critic thinks the opposite. Watch his Frozen and TLK reviews if you are concerned.

Yeah, the lion king music was great! I actually love the song's called" can you feel the love to night", " the circle of life", "I just can wait to be king", and even" be prepared", the 2nd best villian song of all time. But trio's song's was a little annoying, frozen actually rushed to the song's that was actually annoying.

3 The Plot Line

If you think about it, Lion King and Frozen are the same movie. Simba and Elsa both run away from their problems, return after finally realizing what they’ve done, and making everything better. Except Frozen makes it a little different, with having Anna turn into ice and Elsa saving her and stuff like that. The problem is that where Lion King succeeds, Frozen lacks. The characters in Lion King are great and three-dimensional, along with catchy songs, thought-out lines and speeches, and great chemistry. Frozen seems like a rehash of all the Disney movies taking the morals from them and putting them in this movie, especially copying Lion King’s plot line. That’s why I appreciate Lion King more than Frozen, because it’s more original and enjoyable.

The lion king is based off of a Shakespeare play, and apparently, Frozen is based off of...

4 The Story

This should be number one, but the story of the Lion King is fabulous. It has everything a good movie should have, it goes through different stages and You can watch the characters grow and develop. Another thing I like is that is REAL, the characters have flaws, but make up for them with their redeeming qualities. I like how their flaws balance with their good characteristics. The character interaction and dialogue is perfectly paced and spaced, the movie is neither to long or to short, it gives You just enough information so You can follow and understand the story. If You look close enough the Lion King has many deeper hidden meanings and life lessons in each scene for all ages.

Yep! The storyline is way more better than Frozen, as well as everything else Frozen is way more childish as well however that's just an opinion judging on the characters and the amount of deaths and how it is produced compared to 1994's the lion king!

Oh yes, Lion King has one of the best movie stories and

DethronedInFlorida Wow. That was a really funny joke. The Lion King is better than Dorzen and you should know that because this is a list on why THE LION KING is BETTER than FROZEN! And why are you even here if you think Frozen is better? Just saying🙄

5 The Relationships

Even though we don't see much of Simba and Nala's bonding time, You get the idea that in the song "can You feel the love tonight" it is two old friends reconnecting and kindling an old relationship that has been in their hearts for years? You can see how they connect in a loving way in the song, through their mannerisms. The same with the Mufasa/Simba relationship, now this isn't romantic of course, I mean come on they are Father a son! But You can tell they have a strong bond, and we get to see that before Mufasa's tragic fall...We see how Mufasa can be playful, stern, protective, and a wise Father all rolled in one within 20 minutes of the film. We also see how He and Simba still have a strong bond even in death, and their relationship is like a strong root in the ground that can never be broken, and even then Mufasa's lessons stick with Simba.

True, and even Scar/Simba relationship is interesting and was put some effort in theirvpart of the screenplay. Simba Nala best couple, superior to the sisterly love in Frozen, though its admittedly a good twist of the old formula

Loved it, father and son(Mufasa and Simba), significant others(Simba and Nala), best friends(Timon, Pumbaa and Simba), siblings (Mufasa and Scar), villain and henchmen(Scar, Shenzi, Banzai, Ed, Hyena Clan), and there are even more!

6 The Opening

The Lion King started with one of the most memorable openings to any animated movie; Circle of Life was a brilliant opener and the rising sun imagery is unforgettable. Frozen's opening is a boring song about cutting ice, which is done only for a transition to Sven and Kristoff which could have been done in plenty of other ways. Not to mention the songs that accompany these. Frozen Heart is forgettable, dull and pretty tedious, with the song having little to do with the movie. Circle of Life accompanies the imagery well, and fits well with The Lion King. It introduces us to several major characters and, even with no words said by Mufasa, Rafiki or Sarabi, it says plenty.

The best animated movie opening and one of the best movie openings

7 The Lion King Deserves All the Attention It Gets

The lion King is clearly a masterpiece, timeless if You ask Me. Frozen get's boring with in a few weeks, and is shoved down Your throat so much You almost wish it didn't exist.

It already has a lot of attention. It even has a large fandom...

More attention

8 The Emotion

Yes, I almost cried when Mufasa died, you could see the true friendship between Timon, Pumbaa and Simba, Nala and Simba's reunion

The emotion. The feel, I mean I can't recall any other film bringing real tears to my eyes. I mean you know that Anna will not be frozen. Or else the plot dies. Hats off to The Original Disney. But every time we watch that stampede scene we know or we fall into a hope, desperation so that Mufasa may not die. Lion King Rules! Frozen is rubbish I mean it's boring but lion king It's the true meaning of Old is Gold 🌟❤️

9 The Parents

In TLK, they actually played a role, and not cookie-cutter parents that died so they didn't have to introduce two more characters.

You suck random citizen

10 Simba is a better protagonist than Anna

Hey I gotta say John Rolfe from Pocahontas sequel is the best character of all time. Finally, something not to compare to Frozen (like always).

The Contenders
11 Side Characters

Everything in TLK sucked. Does not deserve awards or anything good. THE LION KING DESERVES TO BE IN THE LANDFILL.

12 Can You Feel the Love Tonight is Better Than Love is an Open Door

I despise Can You Feel the Love Tonight. Love is an Open Door was pretty catchy though. - AnimalsLover

I think they are equal

13 Hakuna Matata is better than Let it Go

Young people these days don't even realize what a real, genuine classic is. I am 24 and have my own children and they both have watched The Lion King and Frozen. (Obviously I have as well) They both beg me to play The Lion King over Frozen, which makes me so nostalgic and happy because it was my favorite
movie as a child. Being 24 most Disney songs ( although are all good) I cannot listen to over and over--which my children ask me to do. But I can honestly say Hakunna Matata, Circle of Life, etc. I can listen to over and over--unlike Let It Go. It's not just the nostalgia, they are genuinely good songs.

Exactly, all the songs from Lion King were better

Yes I hate let it go unless I'm singing it.

14 Timon & Pumbaa are funnier than Olaf

Olaf is just annoying

15 Scar Is a Better Villain Than Hans

I totally agree that scar is better villian than hans because hans wanting more to just let anna die and killed elsa to bring back summer so he can be a hero and be a king of arandele to get revenge of his brothers for abusing him, which was a okay plan and he was a boring villian. But scar wanted to kill Mufasa and simba so he will be king of the pride lands which was a great plan for a villian and he was a clever villian.

Hans may actually be one of the worst Disney villains ever. Scar is pure evil at its finest.

Hans's Defeats Is One Of The Worst Villains Defeats Ever

Scar is by far a better villain than Hans.

16 I Just Can't Wait To Be King is better than Let It Go

Let It Go is really overrated and IJCWTBK is really underrated. Other than "Can You Feel The Love Tonight? " IJCWTBK is the best song in the movie.

Yep! It's so catchy

Yes strongly agree

17 Be Prepared is a Better Villain Song

It is the best villain song of all time, it would be more cool if they would make Elsa the villain!

18 Simba Simba is a fictional character who appears in Disney's The Lion King franchise. Introduced in Walt Disney Animation's 32nd animated feature film The Lion King (1994), the character subsequently appears in its sequels The Lion King II: Simba's Pride (1998) and The Lion King 1½ (2004).

Man was Simba generic! He was bland too. His only character trait was bratty. - AnimalsLover

He's brave, he's loyal, more and you just gotta love him!

He is quite possible the most three-dimensional TLK character of them all.

19 Fan Base

Lord, don't even get me started on Frozen's fanbase! They I believe are honestly mostly brain washed, actually I have heard obsessed fans of Frozen at my School say that Frozen really wasn't that good. The fan base basically attacks any other Disney film, and thinks nobody could touch precious Frozen, which is not the case. I believe nearly every Disney film ( besides cars) is better than Frozen, I am saying this honestly, my unbiased opinion.

Not just High School Musical and Teen Beach Movie's fanbase, but the fanbases of some bad Disney Channel Original Movies in general.

To be honest, High School Musical and Teen Beach Movie are the only ones as bad as Frozen.

Frozen has a fandom?

20 The Animation

I give the animation in The Lion King a 10/10. It represents the realism and specialty of the African animal kingdom and has very sharp 2D graphics that are much more reminiscent to Disneyland in comparison.

I give Frozen's animation a 4/10. Even though it has the same animation as Tangled, Wreck-It-Ralph, Big Hero 6, Zootopia and Moana, the plain Frozen universe does not seem to have any personality to it, rarely even in Queen Elsa's silly ice palace.

The Lion Kings animation was breathtaking. The detail in it was well thought out and well done, from the colors to simple grass.

It's still very good.

21 Zazu

Better than the other characters in Frozen

One of my favorite movie birds

22 Anna Is Way Too Desperate for Love

Elsa was right, what does she know about true love?

Even Hans said it himself.

23 Comedy

None of The Lion King characters are funny?! What about Timon & Pumbaa? WatchMojo is not perfect but please see why Timon & Pumbaa are strongly humorous on the list of "Top 10 Funniest Disney Movie Characters". Heck, they even surpassed Baymax and the Genie was the only Disney character that could top Timon & Pumbaa on this list. The hyenas may be unfairly portrayed as demonic animals that gave people a horribly negative perspective on the actually good hyena species, but they have some witty moments. Some other characters can actually make us laugh, even if they are not comedy reliefs. The Lion King is awesome, yet flawed. Please see Cartoon Palooza's review of The Lion King to see why. It is literally the best The Lion King review, even greater than Disneycember - The Lion King. - The Ultimate Daredevil, who gives The Lion King three quarters out of a whole (a 10 for the animation, a 7 for the songs, a 7 for the story and a 7 for the characters).

Now I like a good laugh every once in a while during a film, but they way it was done if Frozen just came off as nauseating and straight up corny. The side characters weren't funny at all in my opinion, and were just unnecessary headache's throughout the film. Timon and Pumbaa were stupid yes, but at least I got a chuckle out of them every once in a while, and they did a lot for Simba during His time in the jungle.

24 It's a much warmer franchise
