Canadians are sick of Quebec and tired of paying their bills, sick of how corruption is tolerated in Quebec if it benefits the oligarchs. Sick of the hypocrisy of receiving regulatory approvals and passes that would never be allowed outside quebec. Most Canadians want quebec to separate so we they will have more money in their pockets. It is a very historic city and has greatly benefited from being a part of Quebec, which operates under a different set of rules and regulations than the rest of Canada. It is like a parasite that is always suckling at the teat of the other provinces, while being given free rein to exploit environmental issues in the mining industry and avoid regulatory scrutiny, like pumping raw sewage into the St. Lawrence Seaway. Quebec always manages to avoid consequences for its politicians' and corporations' endless involvement in corruption (Shawinigate, Mark Norman, SNC Lavalin, the Sponsorship Scandal, WE Charity, Aga Khan, Indiagate, Chinagate, the ArriveScam app, billion-dollar 'green' slush fund), and the list goes on. The rest of the country suffers as a result of the cost and the special treatment Quebec receives at the expense of the rest of the country. Also, Quebec is home to Justin Trudeau, who is the most monumental disgrace this country has ever had to endure. He is an embarrassment and an unethical, incompetent, corrupt 'people-kind' fool who has damaged Canada for decades.
