Top Ten Worst NASCAR Drivers

Drivers who somehow had the talent to make it to NASCAR's big leagues, but failed to produce from there.
The Top Ten
1 Danica Patrick Danica Sue Patrick is an American professional racing driver. She is the most successful woman in the history of American open-wheel racing—her victory in the 2008 Indy Japan 300 is the only female win in an IndyCar Series race.

Don't understand why anyone who says anything bad about her is labeled sexist. There are quite a few way more talented female drivers out there I would happily welcome into Sprint Cup over her. I think Danica would be less disliked if the coverage of her matched her performance. Most drivers regularly in the top ten get less coverage than Danica, who is considered to have had a great day if she finishes top 20.

It's fine she was allowed to "try," but after the first couple of years, she was just an obstacle on the track and an albatross around her chief's neck. Am I correct in thinking she crashed over 100 times in NASCAR alone? I mean, she only led 64 total laps (out of 55 thousand) in her entire Sprint Cup career. That's not racing. That's commuting. Let her drive the pace car, sign autographs, and stay out of the way. PS: Can she even change a tire on a Chevette?

2 Juan Pablo Montoya

Very good open-wheel driver, showed flashes of brilliance in NASCAR. However, he couldn't handle long hours in the car. The high point was the win in Sonoma, then he ran out of talent. I loved it when he hit the jet dryer - one of the great moments in NASCAR, other than watching Dale Earnhardt Sr. pout after he got a taste of his own medicine during a race. However, I enjoyed watching him win the Indy 500 in 2015.

Juan wasn't bad in NASCAR! He even made the round of 8 in 2009! Not like most people on the list, he got a win in 2010. 2009 and 2010 were his combined best seasons, where he got a combined 1 win, 13 top 5s, and 32 top 10s! People should give him credit for his 2009 and 2010 seasons.

3 Jennifer Jo Cobb

I don't even want to talk about this.

4 Kevin Conway

Kevin Conway, I hope you get out of racing entirely. The only reason you went to Cup was because of Extenze. You and Extenze screwed over NEMCO, Robby Gordon, and Front Row. That's right, you'll work at McDonald's. You even bombed in Gibbs.

Who? Oh, yeah. The guy that barely finished races all year but won ROTY because he was the only candidate.

I try to forget about how bad this guy sucked.

5 Norm Benning

Nobody knows who he is. Nobody should know who he is.

He's just a normal old man that would kill you in a race. He just races for a lower team.

6 Mike Harmon

THIS guy is a CRIMINAL. Hate to "hate on" any driver, but he is what he is. Belongs in prison.

I think his crash at Bristol in 2002 is a sign from God telling him to get out of the sport.

7 Kim Crosby

Wrecked every car she had, was always way off the top speeds in qualifying/races, and only got there because she was a woman. The one good thing was her sponsorship.

8 Kyle Petty

Should have left NASCAR 20 years sooner. I remember 43 always came in last, putting around the track or never finished. A haircut tells it all. He hates change.

I don't feel as though he was even related to Richard Petty simply because he drives so badly. He drove the same stuff that the King won 200 races with and still only won eight! In my opinion, he should be first on this list.

Bad driver with a douche haircut. Born on third base and brags about the triple he hit.

9 Scott Speed

He is just the worst. He should be the worst because all he does is drive his car like 70 mph.

10 David Stremme

He absolutely sucks. Had good equipment, blew it. Buys his success, if that's what you want to call it, when he isn't turning people into the wall in a dirt car. When I get back to racing, I will personally enter a race just to door-slam this guy.

His statistics are even worse than Danica's at the Cup level! Three top tens in 200 races!

Couldn't even finish mid-pack in good equipment.

The Contenders
11 Johnny Chapman
12 Daniel Suarez
13 JJ Yeley

Wasn't even good in the Busch Series and Gibbs replaced Bobby Labonte with this guy. If you can't do well with one of the best NASCAR teams, you don't belong in the sport.

Usually, he's out of the race by lap 10 or several laps down. Just get out of the way.

NASCAR's biggest bust for Joe Gibbs Racing and now a start-and-parker.

14 Shane Hmiel
15 John Wes Townley

John Wrecks Weekly. His dad is still charging $0.25 for Zax sauce because of him.

Good thing he retired. He saved a lot of race cars.

He should be #1. He was wrecking in every race in 2009.

16 Elliott Sadler

I don't understand how he gets all of these top-quality rides. He hasn't done anything in the Cup level.

17 Carl Long

Never had the funding. Remember that wreck at Rockingham? Got busted with an engine too big at the All-Star Open and lost a bunch of money. I don't think he's raced since.

18 Bubba Wallace

Another Danica. He also needs to shut up and focus on his driving and stop giving the finger to drivers out the window. Hope he crashes and burns like Danica.

19 Dario Franchitti
20 Hal Martin
21 Steve Wallace

Only Steven can cause $500,000 in damages every weekend. He is just a money burner. Good thing Rusty Wallace shut down the team, or else he would be needing a soup kitchen.

Manages to get caught up in EVERY wreck. Somehow, he managed to wreck under caution once. He single-handedly put Rusty Wallace Incorporated out of business.

Only here because of daddy. Always finds new ways to crash cars and blames someone for his mistakes. Hope Tony Stewart beats him up.

22 Ty Dillon

Whiny little rich kid who has no respect for the history of the sport or his family team. It sucks for his brother Austin, who is a class act and has to deal with this crap. Not to mention, Austin is 10 times the driver Ty wishes he could be.

I remember at Martinsville in 2013 he just gave up and dumped Kevin Harvick. He was right, he is a rich kid that has everything fed to him with a spoon. Hopefully, that hammer hits him on the head so he can think straight.

Whines when he loses a race. He blames Chase Elliott for crashing him when he was out of gas and blocked him. Then he cries in his post-race interview.

23 Brian Vickers

He is trash. What a piece of trash.

24 Clint Bowyer

I will NEVER respect him after what happened at Phoenix 2012 and Richmond 2013. At least Kyle Busch doesn't try to cause wrecks that put all of NASCAR out of balance. He needs to be above guys like Kurt Busch, Steve Park, Matt Kenseth, Tony Stewart, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Bobby Labonte, and Jeff Gordon. Those guys had talent. Clint Bowyer? He, in my mind, is easily one of the 5 worst NASCAR drivers ever.

Clint Bowyer isn't just a NASCAR douchebag. He's pretty much an overall douchebag... period. He's arrogant, very obnoxious, a sloppy drunk, and disrespectful. Do I want to hang out with you? Um... No, Clint. I don't make a habit of hanging out with people I want to throat punch...

25 Brian Scott

Just plain out bad. I always predict he will spin out or wreck almost every week.

He always wrecks. EVERY RACE he's been in this season, he wrecks from 23rd place. Ridiculous.
