I can't tell you how many YouTube comments I have seen that beg for subscribers.

I will get myself 200 subscribers

Subscribe or you die. Yep. That's YouTube in a nutshell.

Literally the most annoying thing I encounter on YouTube. "anyone want to be YouTube besties? " Or "I'm just a girl from New Orleans, trying to live out her dream and inspire girls all over the world with her videos. My goal is to hit a million subscribers by Tuesday. It's my birthday and it would mean the world if you subscribed. Xoxo (by the way, cool video! )" blagh, it just makes me want to barf. I'm not saying there aren't underrated YouTubers, I'm just saying there is another way: Make good videos. Be relatable on camera. Be funny, entertaining, with good quality videos and content, and trust me, you shouldn't have to beg. It looks so pathetic. Plus, if this is how you got subscribers, how can you say you earned them? I have similar values on instagram as well. Maybe 350 isn't a lot of followers (in all modesty, when it comes to art, I believe I'm really quite good), but id much rather have 350 sincere follows, then a bunch of empty, bought followers or ones I got from "follow ...more

This isn't on here? Wow... It's especially getting bad now that a see a lot of "Sub 4 Sub Station" livestreams and chats. I watch these streams just to laugh at the childish begging and threats to unsub if the sub isn't returned. In short - SUB 4 SUB DOESN'T WORK IN THE LONG RUN (which is crucial to your channel's success). If you subscribe to people just to have them sub back, and repeat let's say 500 times, you have 500 people who you are subscribed to and not because you genuinely like their content, so you won't watch their videos, and eventually unsub in the midst of cleaning up your subs. And those who subbed to you will do the same. So in the end, no one is better off, no loyal viewers gained, possibly no views gained, just the waste of time that it took you to subscribe to that person.
