Top Ten WWE United States Champions
John Cena, a five-time United States Champion, has held the title for a total of 405 days. He first won the title by defeating Big Show at WrestleMania 20, which would mark the start of his journey to being the face of the WWE for the next decade. In 2015, John Cena would have two more reigns where he brought back prestige to the title by hosting open challenges against newer stars.
Read closely to this one. I am not a fan of John Cena. However, his time with the United States Championship in 2015 is the only reason he is #1. His fourth reign was one of the very best, and his fifth reign wasn't too shabby. Basically, he gave everyone a chance at the title, because he believed the United States Championship stood for freedom, as does the nation it represents. He defended it just about every week on Raw, and had great matches with Cesaro, Rollins, Zayn, Kane, Neville, Ziggler, Stardust, and more. Chris Benoit was also a great US champ, and Luger is my number #2, but his 4th United States title reign was probably the best since the 2000's.
John Cena is the best US Champion of all time because he defends it every week he has it like a true champion should and always puts on great matches.
Put on incredible matches with Cesaro, Kevin Owens, Rusev, Sami Zayn, Cesaro again, Seth Rollins, and more.
