88 Allan Holdsworth Allan Holdsworth

Really? # 98 and 1 comment? Holdsworth is the greatest guitarist who has ever lived and has influenced countless inferior imitators. Not a rock star but a towering giant on the same exalted level as Coltrane. Nobody touches Allan Holdsworth.

Prooves that you can play any note and make it sound good

91 Hank B. Marvin

From the late 50's on The Shadows and Hank Marvin inspired thousands of kids to play guitar and buy a red Stratocaster. That is influential. Ask Mark Knopfler, The Beatles, whoever, why they play guitar.

Influenced the Beatles, Clapton, Neil Young, Pete Townsend, Brian May and Mark Knopfler to name but a few. So in the top five as far as most influential

The first British guitar hero and still going, based in Perth Australia.

92 Steve Lukather Steve Lukather

Steve Lukather should count as 10 of your favorite guitar players, given the number of artists and bands he has backed with his instant-classic solos and stand-out licks. One of those darn guys of guitar we all want to play like.

94 Joe Perry Joe Perry Anthony Joseph "Joe" Perry is the lead guitarist, backing and occasional lead vocalist, and contributing songwriter for the American rock band Aerosmith.

Inventive licks, unique sound, deep groove, iconic writer. Musical voice of one of the great rock bands with a little bit of an R&B pocket.

He's not a bad singer either. And I love Aerosmith. I don't see Aerosmith without Joe Perry and Steven Tyler.

The best guitarist underrated

A. woman, light my fire, love me two times, love her madly, peace frog are only a few amazing songs by the doors

99 Mark Tremonti Mark Tremonti Mark Thomas Tremonti is an American musician, singer and songwriter, best known as the lead guitarist of the rock bands Creed and Alter Bridge.
100 Eddie Lang

I understand he was out there a long time ago so many won't have an idea of his work and probably never heard of his name as well, but a list of influential guitar players without his name looks fake. Let's just say that if guitar was a piece of bread this guy would be the one who harvested grain... , that influential. He is way over the top of the list together with Segovia and Reinhardt.
If you don't know him check him out.
