List is based on talent but should be based on fan base
List is based on Fan base only. In 80s Next to Kamal and Rajini, it was Mohan-Bhagyaraj. In 90s it was Vijayakanth-Karthik-Prabhu. 2000s, 2010s Vijay-Ajith
During the time of 80's he was leaded the industry with more fan base next to rajini, kamal
Thanthi T.V. survey is completely fake. During the survey of Top 10 1990s Actors, they said Ajith had more fame than Vijay, Prashanth and Aravind Swamy. But during those days Ajith was acting in side role to Vijay in Rajavin Parvaiyile & to Prashanth in Kaloori Vaasal. If really Ajith had more fame, why would he act in side role?. Thanthi T.V. also said Vikram and Suriya had more fans than Prashanth, Aravind Swamy and Prabhu Deva, which is completely fake. Vikram's first hit was Sethu which was released in 1999. Suriya started acting in 1997 and gave his first hit in 1999 Povellam Ketu Par.
Don't believe Thanthi T.V. survey, this list is correct.
In 1979, his 100 th film was released, "Rosapoo Ravikai kari", where he received Film fare Best Actor Award.
In 1980's he got Tamil Nadu State Film Awards Best Actor for "Avan Aval Adhu" and "Agni Sakshi"
He was considered as one the Leading Actor during Mid 70's to Late 80's - madhanprasad
My favorite actor in Tamil cinema. I like his attitude. He doesn't smoke. doesn't drink. He acts as the real gentleman. He doesn't dance and fight like other heroes but, he he does his actions and love scenes very attractively.
