Top Ten 2016 Republican Presidential Candidates

Possibly the next president of the United States of America! Vote for your favorite Republican candidate for the 2016 race!

The Top Ten

1 Donald Trump Donald John Trump (born June 14, 1946) is an American businessman, television personality, politician, and the 45th President of the United States. Born and raised in Queens, New York City, Trump received an economics degree from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1968. In 1971, more.

The reason most republican candidates have been unpopular in the past years is because of money. Presidential campaigns aren't cheap, so they have to be very careful not to offend anyone in their candidate race, or they may lose key sponsors.

Donald trump doesn't have that problem. He has enough money to fund his own campaign, so he can say whatever the hell he wants. AND PEOPLE LIKE THAT. Trump is one of the few candidates who has the guts to say what's wrong with the country, regardless of who gets "offended" in the process. He's also not a professional politician, so he's cerainly not in it for money.

It's also admirable how trump has stood his ground with the media constantly trying to tear him down. People applaud Carson for not having political experience, but trash trump for it. But does that stop him? No! Trump calls the media biased idiots and keeps on trucking.

He may not be as attractive a personality as Rand Paul or Carson, but trump has the know-how ...more

I don't want to spend all day typing, so I will make this quick and to the point. DONALD TRUMP WILL RUIN THIS COUNTRY, DO NOT VOTE FOR HIM!

So your main point in supporting Donald Trump is that he's rich enough to be able to offend whoever he wants? Yeah, that sounds like a Republican to me. It's also such a crime how the media has mistreated I'm by giving him all the free publicity he wants. I will agree with you that the media has been horrid. But they've treated Trump like a saint compared to the way they've treated Hillary.

Lol Are you serious? Even CNN try to make Trump finish his talking within 5 seconds after answering the question so he has to say a lot of excuse me's

Guy has NO Business running on the Republican ticket, or running for President, until he acts like a Conservative in a Government role, such as Governor or Congressman.

2 Ben Carson Benjamin Solomon "Ben" Carson, Sr. is a retired American neurosurgeon and former candidate for President of the United States.

Has No Business running for President. He should run for Mayor, Representative, Governor First. Get a record. I am NOT voting for anyone that doesn't have a good record, serving in an office of power. , fighting for Marriage Religious Freedom & 2nd Amendment Rights.

Extremely accomplished politics as usual. Just an American who wants to see our country turn around and become great again. The fact that he has no political background means nothing. He's smart. He knows the Constitution and I've watched numerous talks and interviews with him. He understands the problems facing this country and doesn't just complain, but has plans...and good ones...for how to address all the issues facing our country. Many people regardless of party understand that our government today is way out of hand and backwards from the original by, for, and of the people that was intended. Ben Carson is the people. Not qualified? I disagree. In my opinion, he's the most qualified, not being in this for any sort of personal gain.

A reasonable man with experience of solving difficult" life& death decisions"... I believe as a choice for a president, he could make decisions in OUR best interest.

Good choice due to the fact that he knows our country has problems and doesn't say that we need to change but is willing to start us on the road to change

3 Marco Rubio Marco Antonio Rubio is an American politician and attorney, and the junior United States Senator from Florida.

He is one of the only respectable candidates. I don't agree with him on all the subjects, but he knows exactly what he's doing, and is not a nut-case like many of the candidates on this list. - Alpha101

Well said. I myself am left-wing, but of the right-wing candidates I would prefer Rubio. Someone like Trump would be quick to fire nuclear weapons at who-knows-what-country for who-knows-what-reason. Rubio has self-control, which the other conservatives lack. - ThatStrangeKid42

Skips nearly all of his meetings. He even admitted he hates his job in the Senate. So tell me...why would I want a lazy guy like him as my president? I still remember how Chris Christie roasted him to ashes on the debate stage that one time..."robot Rubio." Do I want that kind of a person negotiating with Putin? Heck no! Weak.

I hope that all the Trump supporters in the poll are just joking and that they will vote for the right choice, Rubio, once the primaries start.

Young, smart, charismatic, Cuban-American... The full package! #Rubio

4 Ted Cruz Rafael Edward "Ted" Cruz is an American politician and attorney serving as the junior United States Senator from Texas since 2013. He was a candidate for the Republican nomination for President of the United States in the 2016 election.

Clearly understands we need to secure our borders and states how he'll do it. Understands that his number one job would be to protect the American people. He calls a spade a spade and explains his ideas for correcting our countries problems. He's not wishy washy. Right outta the gate he states the problem, his plan to fix it and how he'll do it. Everyone else tap dances.

He's the best! Credible, has integrity, honest, realistic, and believes that he can improve America's conditions. I believe in you Ted Cruz! Hope you win the elections!

Best Choice on ALL Issues. Integrity, Life, Liberty, Freedom of Religion, Marriage, Family, Constitutionally Limited Govt, Peace thru Strength, Free Markets, Less Regulation, Lower Spending, Lower Taxes, Energy, Jobs Opportunity and More. Talks and walks like a fighter & does what he says. There is no other like him.

One of the biggest liars running in the election. And his supporters have the nerve to call him "honest? " Everyone in the Senate hates him...including fellow tea party guys. Just a big fail.

5 Rand Paul Randal Howard "Rand" Paul is an American politician and physician. Since 2011, Paul has served in the United States Senate as a member of the Republican Party representing Kentucky.

One of the most underrated candidates. He's really impressed me over a lot of the things that he's said and proposed.

Rand Paul cares for all parts of the constitution. He is the best person to give everybody freedom.

I think he's the most rational and intelligent amongst this field of crazies!

Has now gone from an overrated presidential candidate to an overrated senatorial candidate...

6 Chris Christie Christopher James "Chris" Christie is an American attorney, politician and member of the Republican Party who served as the 55th Governor of New Jersey. His term ended on January 23, 2018.

VOMIT. This guy is Nearly Last on the List, next to Jeb Bush. a Real Phony who should run on the Democrat ticket. But that is why so many RINO Establishment Elitists like him so much. They know they can get him to serve their purposes, rather than Americans.

I can't wait for Hillary to start debating these Republicans. Lies work as long as there is no one there to refute them, but sooner or later you have to face the person you're accusing. We'll see how great he is when he actually has to debate.

So he's going to kick Obama's butt out of the White House? Actually, Mr. Christie, Obama's term is up so the constitution kind of did that for you. It would be funny, though, to watch Obama and Christie in a foot race...

The latest to have his campaign put out of its misery, though he did a nice job exposing Rubio for the amateur he is...

7 Carly Fiorina Cara Carleton "Carly" Fiorina is an American businessperson and political candidate, known primarily for her tenure as CEO of Hewlett-Packard.

Isn't that special? Carly's smiling. I guess she hasn't heard that her Planned Parenthood video makers got hit with felony charges...

Got booted back to the kids' table in the last debate. I thought her shoes looked nice, though, until that house fell on her...

A business failure. And she really thought she could be president? Vice president? HAHA heck no.

Carly could be the first girl president in history! Except that she's now history.

8 Mike Huckabee

Another Big government RINO posing as a Conservative. He demonstrated as a Governor, that he could either be controlled, or that he could be bought, or that he would compromise his Stated values & at any rate sell the Principles down the river. He took the fight - as the FIRST Governor to oppose it - promising to get rid of Common Core in his state. He had the same people working on it, repackaged & renamed it Arkansas standards & called it good with few if any changes. He is a Liar & has been posing, on the talk radio & Cable news circuits, as a conservative, and going to conservative & charitable events to be seen doing good. He will NEVER get my Vote.

Huckabee's stature is Presidential. He expresses himself with eloquence yet vigor (like Reagan did). He is extremely informed and knowledgeable about all the issues and stands firmly in his convictions. His demeanor is cool and collected yet you know he will fight if you put him in the ring. He will fight for the people and what is right.

Not a good candidate, but it doesn't matter. He's not your nominee. He doesn't even care if he wins, he's only in it for the speaking engagements.

Has good values-will make right choices to keep America safe and protect our rights as Americans--How refreshing!

9 John Kasich John Richard Kasich is an American politician who served as the 69th Governor of Ohio from 2011 to 2019.

Agreed, I have two brothers that are teachers and they don't like this guy at all. People don't realize how hard teachers work, and really how underpaid they are. All I ever hear is how teachers have three months off every year, which is totally untrue. A lot of the people who criticize teachers are the same ones who would be the last to complain about those criminals out in Oregon, who by their own admission can stay there as long as they want. As long as you want? Now THAT is too much vacation!

This idiot thinks teachers spend all day in the teachers' lounge. If we're not already the dumbest nation on earth, this guy will deliver. I hear all the time how he's the "reasonable" candidate. I don't hear that from people who live in Ohio though...

I welcomed the delivery of his speech this morning. So refreshing. I believe he has the guts and will to bring people together to make America strong. He certainly has the credentials as a successful governor and did help Bill Clinton balance the budget.

Surprised he is so low on this list. The only one here who would have beaten Clinton. Too bad Republican voters got too greedy in this election and decided to isolate independent voters. Kasich would have won voters Cruz and Trump could not have. Just a big whiff on the Gop's part.

10 Rick Perry

He takes on big government and obama policies, he's experience and is successful I don't think young hopefuls are what we need again

There are three reasons Perry won't be president, he has no charisma, he looks ridiculous in his glasses, and--OOPS!

I don't think so.

Those glasses didn't help him one bit

The Contenders

11 Bobby Jindal Piyush "Bobby" Jindal is an American politician who served as the 55th Governor of Louisiana from 2008 to 2016, a former US Congressman, and former vice chairman of the Republican Governors Association.

He would be great, but the closet-racist Democrats and Liberals simply can't hold back their true feelings about this son of immigrants from India. They do a better job of hiding it when discussing Ben Carson, but they are plainly throwbacks to the Democrat party of the 1960's whenever this competent, accomplished governor is the topic.

Very Solid Conservative. Well Rounded Best Governors Record of Fighting for Life, Liberty, Freedom of Religion, Marriage, Family, the Constitution, and so much more. Top Tier Candidate for sure.

This guy dismantled his state budget to the point where even his own party is disavowing him. He left such a calamity behind that Louisiana voted in a DEMOCRAT to replace him...that's right...a Democrat the most conservative state in the nation. That's how bad Jindal was. And you wonder why he get routed in the primaries

This must be a Republican website. People who have been out of the race for two months are actually climbing in the polls?

12 Scott Walker

A Koch Brothers puppet who likes to bully unions. His flip flopping on issues doomed his campaign. After one bad poll, he chickened out of the race. Yeah, great guy to have as a President...

How the mighty have fallen. I know a lot of Wisconsin people were hoping he'd win so they could get a new governor.

13 Rick Santorum

Has now become a private citizen once again, which is the office he has performed best at.

He was yesterday's news. Enough said.

Is he still in?

14 Jeb Bush John Ellis "Jeb" Bush is an American businessman and politician who served as the 43rd Governor of Florida from 1999 to 2007.

Another Bush... Not in my life time

Not another Bush? Fair enough, as long as there is also not another Clinton!

I know haha another Bush but he did some great things as governor of Florida and knows what it takes to get the US economy growing again.

If we do elect another Bush, we'd have to elect another Clinton to clean up after the mess he leaves...

15 Herman Cain

Hasn't been running all year. Was a 2012 candidate, but doesn't qualify for this list. Doesn't matter though. The word "top" disqualifies all the other entries, too.

No business running for President. Run for Mayor first & then Governor next & come back with a Record.

Still better than most of the candidates on this list despite his big scandal. NINE NINE NINE NEIN NEIN NEIN

16 Condoleezza Rice
17 Jim Gilmore

THE MAN NEEDS SOME LOVE, GUYS. I felt bad for him after getting booted from so many debates

He's out officially now. That is, if you ever knew he was in to begin with.

18 George Pataki

Way too liberal for this Republican Party. He's only an ultra conservative. These days you have to be an ultra ultra ultra conservative.

Simply a moderate Republican with no name recognition. Got eaten alive by the Tea Party voters.

19 Mitt Romney Willard Mitt Romney is an American businessman and politician who served as the 70th Governor of Massachusetts from 2003 to 2007 and was the Republican Party's nominee for President of the United States in the 2012 election.
20 Lindsey Graham

Had some decent positions. But I'm sorry, nobody wanted to put boots on the ground in Syria. Not a good platform to run on.

Decent man, actually someone who Democrats could reason with. So, of course, the Repugs got rid of him right away...
