2018 Second Round NFL Draft Picks Most Likely to Succeed
You know what this list is about. I’ve done the first round, but now we’re looking at NFL second round draft picks most likely to succeed in 2018.One or two mocks predicted Guice going to the Redskins in the first round. Instead, they got to him in the second round. He was the biggest steal of the second round, and he might find himself as the starting running back to open the season.
How did he fall to the second round? The Lions had a clear cut path to him, but they chose Frank Ragnow instead. Anyway, the Titans came out lucky. I mean, they got Rashaan Evans and Landry. Their defense will be a monster in 2018 with Landry as a key component.
Boy, Chark fell from late first round material to a late second round pick. However, based on his combine workouts, I think he’ll be a top rookie wide receiver. He’s also on a receiver needy team in the Jaguars.
Helping a bad Lions backfield gives him a chance to become a long term starter. He was pretty good at Auburn, and I can’t imagine him not getting plenty of snaps. Only thing in his way is LaGarrette Blount.
Man, the second round saw a lot of quality running backs taken. Chubb was the first of them. He’ll definitely start in Cleveland during the season. Most likely he’ll share snaps with Duke Johnson and the occasional Carlos Hyde. Chubb had a horrific injury at Georgia, and he overcame it in 2017. Can he go further?
Another second round steal for a miserable backfield in Green Bay. He plummeted from being predicted as a first rounder before the combine, to falling out of favor weeks later. He’ll have a pretty good rookie season in a young backfield with veteran mentors.
After the Buccaneers released Doug Martin, they were in the market for a running back. Ronald Jones is their future in the backfield.
The Cardinals drafted a young target for Josh Rosen. He’ll someday become their number one wide receiver when Larry Fitzgerald retires.
