Wereweegee's Favorite Mario Characters

Mario...one of my favorite video game franchises, if not my favorite. I've had this list swirling in my head for awhile, so here you go.
The Top Ten
1 Wario Wario is a character in Nintendo's Mario series who was originally designed as an antagonist to Mario. His motives are driven by greed and he will take the side of whoever will give him the most pay. Although he may seem like just a mean man with no heart, he does have a very tragic past.

Number one is...Wario! The fat, greedy rival of Mario. His games are fun and interesting. I own a plush of him, and it's well-loved.

2 Luigi Luigi, originally a palette swap of Mario named Green Mario, is a major character featured in video games and related media released by Nintendo. Created by prominent game designer Shigeru Miyamoto, Luigi is portrayed as the slightly younger, taller fraternal twin brother of Nintendo's unofficial mascot Mario, and appears in many games throughout the Super Mario franchise, often as a sidekick to his brother.

The funny, frightened brother. Yes, I know he's "overrated", and people say his fans suck. I bet you though that there aren't very many fanbases with /good/ fans or haters. Keep that in mind, for I am not either of those. Also, Luigi's Mansion is one of my all-time favorite games.

3 Birdo Birdo is a dinosaur that is well known for her (or his) confused Gender. It was originally stated that Birdo was a male who believed he was a female, but this was changed in later games. Birdo is commonly referred to as a girl, however, they are in a relationship with Yoshi. Birdo first appeared in Super Mario Bros. 2 as an enemy towards the player. She is now included in many spinoff titles of the Mario franchise as a playable character, including the Mario Kart series and the Mario Party series.

I love Birdo! I always play as her in the games she appears in and wish she could be in more main games. Her hate is been going on for too long, and has been too unreasonable.

4 Bowser Bowser is the main antagonist of the Mario Bros. Franchise. From kidnapping Princess Peach to simply destroying a fun game between Mario and Friends in the Mario Party spinoff series, this king of the Koopas has set up a certain hatred towards himself amongst the large cast of Mario Characters. He first appeared in the 1985 popular videogame, Super Mario Bros., in which he was responsible for kidnapping Princess Toadstool (more commonly known as Princess Peach), which was released in Arcades and on the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) Videogame System.

I love villians, and why not bring in the main man himself? He is decently interesting.

5 Rosalina Rosalina, known as Rosetta in Japan, is a major character in the Mario Franchise created by Nintendo. She first appeared in the 2007 Mario Game, Super Mario Galaxy for the Nintendo Wii and later returned for the game's sequel in 2010. Since then, she has been featured in many main-series Mario Games and many spinoffs. She has appeared as a playable character in Super Mario 3D World for the Nintendo Wii U in 2013 and is a playable character in the Mario Kart series and Mario Party series. She also has come into Super Smash Bros. for Wii U/3DS as a part of the large character roster.

Of course she'll be on this list! I won't go on and on about her, but her personality and backstory make her quite interesting.

6 Toad Toad, known in Japan as Kinopio, is a major character in the Mario Bros. franchise. He assists Princess Peach in the Mushroom Kingdom and will do whatever it takes to help her. He first appeared in the classic game, Super Mario Bros. after being kidnapped by Bowser and his minions. Since then he has been a reappearing character in the Mario Bros. series as a playable character in the New Super Mario Bros. series, Super Mario 3D World, Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, Super Mario Run, and many other games. He also appears as playable character in many Mario-spinoff games including the Mario Kart series, Mario Party games, Mario and Sonic Olympic Games, Mario Sports Games, and many more. ...read more.

I love Toad, and playing as him. He is helpful and cute. I love his voice from MK64.

7 Yoshi Yoshi, once romanized as Yossy, is a fictional anthropomorphic dinosaur who appears in video games published by Nintendo. Often appearing as a sidekick and helper to Mario, Yoshi is most known for his appearances in the Yoshi's Island and the Super Mario franchises.

Light blue Yoshi is the best. But I love his stats in Mario Kart. He's cute, but not as much as Toad.

8 Peach Princess Peach is a major character in the Mario Bros. Franchise. She is the lead female of the The Mario franchise. She is usually the character who needs saved in most Mario Games, but also has appeared as a playable character in the Main-Series Mario Games, including Super Mario 3D World, Super Mario Bros. 2, Super Mario Run, and even starred in her own game, Super Princess Peach for the Nintendo DS. She has appeared in many spinoff series, too, including Mario and Sonic Olympic Games, the Mario Kart series, the Mario Party series, Mario Sports Games, the Super Smash Bros. Series, and many more.

The lovely ruler of the Mushroom Kingdom. Though not the most /original/ character ever made, she at least gets credit for creating the story: getting kidnapped so Mario can save her!

9 Daisy Princess Daisy is a fictional character in the Mario series of video games, in which she is the princess of the fictional region of Sarasaland.

The tomboy and (somewhat) original princess! Her confidence and readyness to fight for herself are unbelievable. She finally got her own amiibo, but now she needs her own game!

10 Bowser Jr. Bowser Jr., or sometimes simply Jr., is a video game character who appears in Nintendo's Mario franchise as the secondary antagonist. He is the youngest son of the series' primary antagonist, Bowser.

I LOVE Bowser Jr! I've really gotten into him lately. I can't believe that he wasn't part of the original MK8 roster. But the Koopalings (as much as I like them) were? And same with all the clones?
