Best Game of Thrones Characters

The Top Ten
1 Sandor Clegane (The Hound) Sandor Clegane, nicknamed The Hound, is a fictional character in the A Song of Ice and Fire series of fantasy novels by American author George R. R. Martin, and its television adaptation Game of Thrones.

Taking out top spot is Sandor Clegane. By far the most underrated character, the hound is complex, intriguing and violent, but at the same time you feel sorry for him. Portrayed brilliantly by Rory Mccann, the hound has been involved in some of the shows best moments; his fight with Brienne and his friendship with Arya to name a few. His adventures make for compelling viewing, and for that reason, we can't wait to see more of him in series 7.

2 Tyrion Lannister Tyrion Lannister is a fictional character in A Song of Ice and Fire, a series of fantasy novels by American author George R. R. Martin, and its television adaptation Game of Thrones. In Game of Thrones, the character is portrayed by Peter Dinklage.
3 Daenerys Targaryen Daenerys Targaryen is a fictional character in George R. R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series of novels, as well as the television adaptation.

Taking bronze is the one and only Mother of Dragons. There's no doubt that Daenerys kicks ass, and the fact that we have seen her grow as a character throughout the series only makes us love her more. With her HUGE army, three dragons, and Tyrion by her side, she is definitely one of the most powerful characters in the series.

4 Cersei Lannister Cersei Lannister is a fictional character created by American author George R. R. Martin. She is a prominent point of view character in Martin's award-winning A Song of Ice and Fire series, and also a main character in HBO's adaptation of the series, Game of Thrones.

Taking fourth place, it's the current Queen of Westeros. She may be a cold-hearted bitch, but there is no doubt that Cersei is one powerful woman. Beautifully played by Lena Headey, Cersei makes for compelling viewing, and is an extremely complex character. Which is why we love her.

5 Jon Snow Jon Snow is a fictional character in the A Song of Ice and Fire series of fantasy novels by American author George R. R. Martin, and its television adaptation Game of Thrones.

Ex-Lord Commander of the nights watch, current King of the North, Jon's been a busy man. Ridiculed his whole life for his bastard status, Jon joined the nights watch in season 1, and stayed there until season 6. Although his setting hasn't changed much, there is no denying that Jon has had one of the most turbulent story lines, such as THAT fight with the White Walkers. We just love him.

6 Arya Stark Arya Stark is a fictional character created by American author George R. R. Martin. She is a prominent point of view character in Martin's award-winning A Song of Ice and Fire series, and also a main character in HBO's adaptation of the series, Game of Thrones.

She is a bad-ass. that's it.

7 Melisandre

Although not as popular as the other characters on this list, there's no denying that Melisandre is brilliantly complex. Audiences were shocked when it was revealed she was not as young as we thought, and that is why she is such an amazing character; she is just so mysterious

8 Jaime Lannister Jaime Lannister is a fictional character created by American author George R. R. Martin. He is a prominent point of view character in Martin's award-winning A Song of Ice and Fire series, and also a main character in HBO's adaptation of the series, Game of Thrones.

Twin of Cersei, lover of Cersei, possible killer of Cersei. Jaime's character development was outstanding, as he went from one of the more hated characters to one of the most loved. He changed for the better, and that is why we love him.

9 Varys

Mysterious, likeable, most amazing voice. that's Varys for you.

10 Littlefinger
