Top Ten Movies the User Phillip873 Likes that a Lot of People Hate

Phillip873
This is a list of the movies that I liked, that weren't well received, but that doesn't apply to all these movies. Some of these movies WERE well received but are also movies I noticed that have a hatedom on this site.
This list is a non-votable list and the content of the list reflects the opinion of its author.

The Top Ten

1 Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

I understand that the characters were pretty bland, but this movie was pretty awesome in some ways! The fight/war scenes were just OUTSTANDING to me. It felt more like a military style movie than the traditional Star Wars movie. I also like how the story links into episode IV.

2 Monsters University

I think this is the most underrated Pixar movie. It is not the best in no way, and not better than the original monsters inc, but I however thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a neat origin story that was complete with some funny jokes, and some imaginative character designs, but we expect that from Pixar.

3 La La Land

It did win a lot of Oscars, but a lot of people do hate this movie from what I've seen (but a lot of people like it too, so I guess it's controversial if I'm putting it into terms). I just love this movie though, and I did make a post on this site why if you want to read it.

4 Billy Madison

Yeah yeah, Adam Sandler, the guy who's only good movie was Happy Gilmore... I enjoyed this movie too though, it had some jokes that did make me laugh, but it is pretty stupid at some points.

5 Shrek Forever After

I honestly don't know why people hate this movie so much. It is in NO WAY as good as the first two shrek movies, but I think shrek 3 was the weakest. This movie was a decent conclusion to the shrek franchise.

6 Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs

I don't know if people hate this movie or not, but a lot of people hate Sony animation for the latest "💩fest" (if you can take a hint). I really liked this animated movie though, it took a simple premise of a children's book, and made it into a neat idea! It also has some funny jokes too, but a lot of food puns.

7 Frozen

We've all watched it, and a lot of people bandwagoned when they could not avoid the hit song "Let it Go". I was sort of like that once, but looking back, it's not bad! I think it is the weakest film of Disney's 2010's Renaissance, but all those movies were good-awesome in my opinion. It has beautiful animation, and the story works sometimes, however sometimes it has plot holes (Like how did Elsa get her ice powers in the first place? Her parents don't have them.).

8 Suicide Squad

I definitely think this movie is a garbage movie, if we are speaking of it as a movie, with bad writing, editing and mostly bad performances. I however just enjoyed it when I was watching it very casually, it had some decent action scenes. I also give praise to Will Smith and Margot Robbie, they had good performances, but the rest of them mostly sucked.

9 Star Wars: The Force Awakens Star Wars: The Force Awakens

Got good reviews, but on this site specifically, it has a hatedom. My complaints were that it was a lot like episode IV, and Rey is kind of a Mary Sue. But I still enjoyed this movie a lot, it had some very good performances and badass fight scenes!

10 Zootopia

This movie got VERY high reviews and did win an Oscar. This movie also has a hatedom on this site though, like The Force Awakens. This is one of my favorite animated movies for many reasons, and I'm planning to make a post for each of my top 15 favorites individually sooner. Right now though, I can say that I absolutely loved everything about this movie (story, characters, animation, jokes), except for the villain (mayor bell weather). She was kind of flat, but at least she gave her reasons for wanting to destroy the city.
