Top Reasons Why the 2003 Hulk Movie Was Awesome

The 2003 Hulk movie gets a lot of hate, I feel a lot of it is because Hulk came one year after the popular release of the Sam Raimi Spider-Man movie and everyone thought the Hulk movie would be similar. But it turned out to be much much different, didn't have nowhere near as much action as the 2002 Spider-Man and didn't meet everyone's expectations as a result. It was a movie ahead of its time, had it been released today it would've been received much better.

The Top Ten
1 David Banner was a brilliant villain

Very complex villain and a lot more grey than people might initially think. It's very interesting working out some of his hidden motives in the film

2 Eric Bana's Bruce Banner is cooler than the other Bruce Banner incarnations

Eric Bana's Bruce Banner wasn't so geeky compared to Norton's and Ruffalo's Banner, and I liked that aspect. The 2003 Banner also had much more of a backstory than any of the others, and it certainly turned out to be an interesting background. The 2003 Banner is a far more complex character than the others, mainly due to his background.

Whoever said this lives under the wrong rock.

3 The 2003 Hulk was more powerful and cooler than 2008 Hulk and MCU Hulk

The 2003 Hulk remains the only version which gets bigger the angrier he gets and significantly stronger compared to the other Hulk's in the movies.

4 Military battle

The bit where Hulk is running super fast and jumping hundreds of metres stands out from the other Hulk's because the 2003 one is the only Hulk that has been shown to be capable of this. Throwing the tank into the distance, as well as countless other things in the battle was great.

5 Great memorable quotes

'And what have I done to my son Miss Ross? Nothing'!
'My son is... unique. And because he is unique, people won't tolerate his existence will they'
'You know what scares me the most? When it happens, when it comes over me and I totally lose control...I like it'

6 Sam Elliot's Thunderbolt Ross is brilliant

I liked how Ross wasn't just a stereotypical evil villain in this movie, he was more grey than black because at least he had good reasons to go after Hulk, and detonate the bomb on him at the end.

7 Bruce's awful childhood

Those scenes were simply amazing
