My Favorite Pokémon of All Time

Apparently I'm deciding to torture myself by going through every single Pokémon and ranking them based on how much I love, like, don't care for, dislike, or hate them. My opinions on each Pokémon are based on physical appearance and personal connections from playing the games, not based on how they fare in the competitive battling scene. Also I'm not including any alternate forms of Pokémon except Alolan forms because they actually rank differently than the regular forms.
This list is a non-votable list and the content of the list reflects the opinion of its author.

The Top Ten

1 Sceptile Sceptile Sceptile, known in Japan as Jukain, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.

Been my favorite Pokémon since I saw its 3D model in OR/AS and the fact that it can Mega Evolve into a cooler looking DRAGON TYPE! So awesome! Sorry if I sound like a super nerd of a twelve year old, but thinking about Pokémon brings me back to when I got into the games when third gen was introduced.

2 Alolan Vulpix Alolan Vulpix "Alolan Vulpix" is an Ice-type regional variant of one of the most popular Pokémon, Vulpix. As its name says, it comes from the Alola Region.

Used to be my YouTube and Twitter profile picture because I just love it so much. It's as cute as Sceptile is cool.

3 Ampharos Ampharos Ampharos is an Electric-type Pokémon introduced in Generation II . It evolves from Flaaffy starting at level 30 . It is the final form of Mareep . It can Mega Evolve into Mega Ampharos using the Ampharosite, in which it becomes an Electric/Dragon-type .

Just look at it… Ampharos is a sheep that conducts and controls electricity! And it has like... gems of power and stuff on its head and tail. I don't know, I just love Ampharos and its design. The colors work so well and it just looks like a fighter... or as much as a sheep can look like a fighter. Plus, its Mega Evolution gets points for getting that sick mane.

4 Gallade Gallade

If this isn't in everyone's top 5, I don't know what would be. Smooth design, cool and unique typing (Psychic/Fighting, which only Gallade, Medicham, and Mega Mewtwo X have), and maybe the best and flashiest Mega Evolution of them all. But mainly, when a Pokémon has blades for arms, you can't get any cooler.

5 Celebi Celebi

Just one thing here: ' cute.
Actually, a second thing: Time traveler.

6 Chespin Chespin Chespin, known in Japan as Harimaron, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.

Is another cute one, what else do I need?

7 Shinx Shinx

Something about Shinx's eyes is calming. It's also a cute Pokémon, so that helps. The colors on here work so well together; a soft blue complemented by a warm yellow all in contrast with the black parts of it. Just nice to look at. And it evolves into the second coolest Pokémon of gen four (Luxray).

8 Meloetta Meloetta Meloetta is a Mythical Pokémon from the Unova Region. It is a Normal and Psychic Type. When it uses the move Relic Song, it turns into a Normal and Fighting Type and changes its appearance.

It's a Pokémon... based on music. This HAD to be in my top ten. Its hair is sheet music, it's got the physical form of a dancer, and it resolves everything through singing! What a great concept. Love it!

9 Luxray Luxray

Yeah, two Pokémon from the same evolutionary line in the top ten! I really like the Shinx line. This one's lower than Shinx because it's cool but not as nice to look at.

10 Nidoking Nidoking Nidoking, known in Japan as Nidoking, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.

The coolest of the cool. One of the best gen one Pokémon. I always have one on my team in Pokémon Yellow since it's my favorite Pokémon in that game.

The Contenders

11 Charizard Charizard Charizard, known in Japan as Lizardon, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise. Created by Ken Sugimori, Charizard first appeared in the video games Pokémon Red and Blue and subsequent sequels. They have later appeared in various merchandise, spinoff titles and animated more.

Awesome. Classic beast of a Pokémon that drew people into the game and TV show. I may not love it as much as everyone else, but I do still love it!

12 Squirtle Squirtle Squirtle, known as Zenigame in Japan, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise. It was originally conceived by Game Freak's character development team and finalized by Chaniah Pantry. It is a squirrel-turtle hybrid .

Cutest of the Kanto starters in my opinion and I do like it more than Charmander. But I'm more of a "Water Type" personality than Fire.

13 Alolan Ninetales Alolan Ninetales

As majestic *(◕ᗜ◕)* as regular Ninetales is, this is at least ten times better. Absolute beauty of a Pokémon. It's as beautiful as Alolan Vulpix is cute. But beauty doesn't win as many points with me as cuteness.

14 Charmander Charmander Charmander, known as Hitokage in Japan, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.

Overrated? Sure. But cute and cool? Definitely.

15 Pidgeot Pidgeot

Just... majestic *(◕ᗜ◕)*

16 Blastoise Blastoise Blastoise, known in Japan as Kamex, is a Water–type Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.

When you have cannons coming out of your back, you know you're awesome. Blastoise just knows it's awesome... err, it would had it been a real creature rather than just a piece of coding in a video game...

17 Ninetales Ninetales

Just... majestic *(◕ᗜ◕)*

18 Alolan Sandslash Alolan Sandslash

HOW DOES SANDSLASH GET COOLER?! Haha, get it, because he's made of... ice? (Yeah, that wasn't even intentional, I just noticed after typing it)

19 Arbok Arbok

This is probably the most interesting non starter so far (I'm adding these by order of National Dex number) and its design is so cool with the patterns on its neck like a Cobra- err, kobrA.

20 Nidoqueen Nidoqueen

Awesome! Such a powerful sounding and looking Pokémon, as something with "queen" in the name should be.

21 Pidgeotto

Issa birb wit hair. But the anime made me really love Pidgeotto.

22 Beedrill Beedrill

"We can decipher the meaning by breaking it down into its two root words: Beed and Rill. Now we're all stumped and will never understand the deeper meaning of how this Pokémon came to be named."

23 Axew Axew

The best combination of cute and cool. A baby dragon that actually looks like a toddler just learning to walk and breathe fire and the like. You know... normal life experiences.

24 Sandslash Sandslash

So cool! What are those, porcupine quills on its back? And claws?! Yeah. Awesome.

25 Pikachu Pikachu Pikachu are a species of Pokémon, fictional creatures that appear in an assortment of video games, animated television shows and movies, trading card games, and comic books licensed by The Pokémon Company, a Japanese corporation.

This man... This POKEMAN... You don't get much more classic than the mascot of the entire franchise since 1996.

26 Bulbasaur Bulbasaur Bulbasaur, known as Fushigidane in Japan, is the first Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.

A cute little dino-plant that actually deserves to be more well loved. Grass is my favorite type of Pokémon (and no, I don't smoke or do drugs or whatever, I just love Grass types) so I have a soft spot for the little guy... girl... Pokémon.

27 Wartortle Wartortle

Best of the Kanto starters' middle stages. Love the ears, tail, and shell as well as the visible blush on the cheeks.

28 Nidorino

Cooler than Nidoran Male. One of the better middle stages of Pokémon. The horn on its head is more noticeable than on Nidoran

29 Vulpix Vulpix

Cute, but not nearly as cute as its Alolan counterpart or as majestic as its evolution. Definitely a classic, though.

30 Venusaur Venusaur Venusaur, known in Japan as Fushigibana, is a Grass/Poison type Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.

Just... awesome. Almost as cool as Charizard but not as classic.

31 Nidorina

I like its sassy stance in battle in Fire Red and Leaf Green. I find it amusing.

32 Raichu Raichu Raichu, known in Japan as the same name, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.

Now some hipsters would say that Raichu is better than Pikachu simply to be original. Now me... I don't say that at all. Raichu clearly isn't better than Pikachu.

33 Wigglytuff Wigglytuff

Great! I like it a lot more than Jigglypuff because of how it looks like a giant marshmallow!

34 Butterfree Butterfree

Beautiful. Makes the 3 levels of having a Metapod worth it. Plus the spore effects it has are cool (Stun Spore, Poison Powder, Sleep Powder).

35 Nidoran (Female)

I actually really like her even if she is just kind of a mouse Pokémon. Plus, it's the first gendered Pokémon ever because in gen one, no Pokémon aside from Nidoran had a gender. Or at least the games didn't specify until gen two. And the soft blue color of it looks pretty on it.

36 Vileplume Vileplume

Much better than Gloom. The petals on its head are a cool camouflage even if it can't use it in game.

37 Clefairy Clefairy

Cute Pokémon. Also it's association with the moon is cool and really makes use of all the spacey gimmicks in Pokémon (Mt. Moon, Moon Stone, Cosmic Power, etc.)

38 Kakuna Kakuna

Cooler than Metapod. Nicer color, poison stingers on it so at least the DESIGN can defend itself, and it's just... not Metapod.

39 Ivysaur Ivysaur

Meh. Kind of an ugly design, even for a middle stage. Maybe a little better than Charmeleon.

40 Nidoran (Male) Nidoran (Male)

Nidoran was the first Pokémon to have a gender so of course it's important. I just prefer the female version because of the color. The Deep Purple (get the reference?) doesn't look as nice as the soft blue.

41 Weedle Weedle Weedle is a worm-like Pokémon in the Pokémon series. It evolves to Kakuna, which evolves to Beedrill. Its name may come from "worm" and "needle", or "weed" and "needle", referencing that it chews weeds, helping gardeners.

Basic design, centipede with horn on head and clown nose...……. LOVE IT!

42 Ekans Ekans

Snake backwards. Simple name, but genius. It's cool enough.

43 Charmeleon Charmeleon

Sucks. Sucks. Sucks. Sucks. Sucks. Design is gross, anime portrayal is annoying, and in game I never had a great experience with one until it evolved.

44 Jigglypuff Jigglypuff Jigglypuff, known in Japan as Purin, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.

Classic? Yeah. But too annoying in the anime for me to really love Jigglypuff. Also, the anime played up Jigglypuff as some great singing Pokémon when its real defining characteristic is being a balloon; something Smash Bros. got right.

45 Pidgey Pidgey

Is jussa birb… Not bad tho (Am I good at memes yet?).

46 Alolan Sandshrew

Like Sandshrew, just not as boring. The igloo look suits it.

47 Caterpie Caterpie

Well it's basic, but not a bad design (looking at YOU, Charmeleon). I like it.

48 Sandshrew Sandshrew

It's nice. I mean for a shrew made of sand and that's the name of it.

49 Oddish Oddish Oddish, known in Japan as Nazonokusa, is a dual Grass-Poison type Pokémon from the Pokémon series of video games and child-friendly animes.

Cute little odd radish- Wait. Odd... radish... Oddish.

50 Spearow

Cooler looking bird than Pidgey, but Pidgey's a classic. Spearow not so much.
