Top 10 EDM and Indie Songs that Cheer Me Up, So They Should Cheer You Up Too!

This is based off a Spotify playlist I recently made to help me go through tough times, and I'd say it worked so well. I've been feeling so much better after I listen to it. I'm working harder now, doing better in classes, and overall having a great time. I hope this cheers you up too. I'll definitely be adding more to this list as I go, so enjoy these musical masterpieces as they come.

The Top Ten
1 Konac - Flutter

Flutter was, to me, a song about looking forward, not backward, as the darkness envelops you. You can't see much, but someday you'll see the sunshine.

2 EDEN - rock + roll

I've always strived to make more music, ever since I finally saved enough to buy FL Studio. This song straight up grabbed me by the shoulders, shook me, all the while yelling "YOU ARE GOOD ENOUGH! MAKE THEM REMEMBER YOU WHEN YOU DIE! ", and that's why this song hits #2.

3 Eden Project - Times Like These

EDEN's old moniker, The Eden Project (shortened, Eden Project), was originally an entirely progressive house/electro act. He slowly but surely transitioned into indie rock, and Times Like These was, essentially, an announcement that he was not going back to The Eden Project. On its own, however, the lyrics say nothing more than, "We had a good run, but now it's time for a change. A good one."

4 EDEN - Wake Up

When EDEN released Wake Up, the way it made me feel was at the right time, in an America that is now refusing immigrants in through its borders for asylum. I usually don't like to talk about politics, but if that's the way I felt, then I've gotta speak up. The song yells "I left this all behind for a new life in America.". In this new America, it seems we've lost that as a government to feel that from the immigrants that come now. What have we become?

5 EDEN - falling in reverse

This is a song about dealing with depression, a feeling I am more than familiar with. It is a talk with a voice in your head that creates monsters out of the little things, and yet is the consoling voice at the same time, with knowledge that it is both. A song that made me cry because, for once, I didn't feel alone.

I'm not even depressed, but this song is just incredible

6 Gammer - Stay Tonight (feat. Dylan Matthew)

You ever listen to a song, and you don't know why it makes you cry, but you cry anyway? I believe that it is a certain melody, a certain way notes are paired, certain vocals or lyrics that do this to me. This is one of those songs that just sounds so right to me, I cry about it. It's kind of stupid sounding at first, and it is, but whatever.

7 Stonebank - Be Alright (feat. EMEL)

Stonebank has been one of my BIGGEST inspirations in music. He was a key factor in getting me to leave the restrictive box of regular EDM music and place me in the open wilderness, where I can discover any music I want. The lyrics are a reassuring head in your head, letting you know that it'll all be OK.

8 Direct & Labisch - Make A Move (feat. Openwater)

Direct is a chillout artist, and chillout is always a genre I look forward to listening to, yet it stays at #8 for all the other songs there are. The lyrics are about how YOU can make a difference, how it is YOUR time, and that YOU need to make it happen. Just stand up, and make a move.

9 Duumu - Illuminate (feat. Slyleaf)

Duumu does a lot of Future Trap now, but he used to do Chillwave/Ambient. I've always been a fan of Chillwave because it talks about summer memories (even though I like winter more). Everything about the song just comes together to make a dreamy pop/chill influence that warms me up faster than hot chocolate.

10 Toxic Emotion - Closer Further

Toxic Emotion is an artist who has only released a few songs. They released one album and a remix, and disappeared into the void of no releases. Either way, this song stood out to me the most, purely because of its Future Bass influences. One of those songs that just fits so right that it makes me happy.
