Underrated Movie Soundtrack Songs

The Top Ten
1 Little Child Runnin' Wild - Curtis Mayfield

Everyone knows "Pusherman" from the "Superfly" soundtrack, but I think this is the superior song.

2 Angry Again - Megadeth

"Last Action Hero" is a pretty terrible film, but it did have a great soundtrack including this from one of Thrash Metal's Big 4.

3 Down and Out In New York City - James Brown

Another blaxploitation entry, this one from "Black Caesar" is my favourite James Brown song but is largely unknown.

Extremely underrated! But why?! It's so damn funky! Love it.

4 Scream (Until You Like It) - W.A.S.P.

From "Ghoulies II". If you love W.A.S.P. you surely love this one.

5 You're the Best Around - Joe Esposito

From "The Karate Kid", essentially the film's "Eye of the Tiger".

6 Let's Hear It for the Boy - Deniece Williams

With all due respect to Kenny Loggins, this is my favourite song from the "Footloose" soundtrack.

7 Surrender (From Tomorrow Never Dies) - k.d. Lang

The end theme from "Tomorrow Never Dies", it's a million miles better than Sheryl Crow's title song.

8 Far From Over (Staying Alive) - Frank Stallone

"Staying Alive" is a terrible film, but this song is catchy as hell.

9 We Fight for Love - The Power Station

AKA the end theme from "Commando". Michael Des Barres fills in for the departed Robert Palmer alongside most of Duran Duran for this cheesy but catchy pop-rock power anthem.

10 Hellraiser - Motorhead

It's a toss-up whether this is better than Ozzy's version, and "Hellraiser III" is a pretty poor film, but the song is good and who doesn't love Lemmy?
