Top 10 Foods From The Netherlands

The Netherlands has some great foods and i want to introduce them in this list. These are typical Dutch foods. I like most of these Dutch foods and i thought it would be fun after my other list about The Netherlands. Anyway, enjoy and feel free to share your opinions!

2 Syrup waffles Syrup waffles

Two thin waffles stuck together with a layer of sweet syrup. Syrup waffles are sold on the street, at markets and in stores. The syrup waffle was first made in the course of the nineteenth century in Gouda. Trust me, they are very sweet and delicious. If you go - Userguy44

3 Dutch mini pancakes Dutch mini pancakes

They look like baby pancakes but much fluffier. They are made with yeast and buckwheat flour and typically served with a lump of butter and powdered sugar. They are served on a small cardboard plate and come with a small fork. While butter and powdered sugar are the most common toppings; whipped cream, syrup and strawberries are also pretty common. - Userguy44

5 Kibbeling Kibbeling

Another Dutch fish speciality. It’s battered and deep fried morsels of white fish. Mostly served with lemon-herb mayonnaise. They are delicious in my opinion and they mainly can be bought at a street market. - Userguy44

6 Croquette Croquette

A Dutch snack. It’s a deep fried roll with meat ragout inside, covered in breadcrumbs.. The original Dutch ‘croquette’ is made from beef or veal, but there are many different flavors like chicken satay, shrimps, goulash or even a vegetarian ‘croquette’. It’s pretty hot too while it’s served. It tastes good with mustard as well. - Userguy44

7 Oilballs Oilballs

€Oilballs” are deep fried balls made of dough. The dough is made from eggs, yeast, some salt, flour, milk and baking powder. They are served during “New Years Eve usually with powered sugar. - Userguy44
