Top 10 Most Irrelevant Mario Characters
Mario is a 30+ year franchise with tons of characters. Naturally not all of them will be particularly relevant. I will do one for Sonic next time.
Yoshi, once romanized as Yossy, is a fictional anthropomorphic dinosaur who appears in video games published by Nintendo. Often appearing as a sidekick and helper to Mario, Yoshi is most known for his appearances in the Yoshi's Island and the Super Mario franchises. Mario constantly kills Yoshi because he doesn't care about him despite Yoshi raising and saving Mario. Nobody else cares for Yoshi so he left to star in a side series of games nobody cares about. Sad.

Sonic the Hedgehog, trademarked Sonic The Hedgehog, is the title character and protagonist of the Sonic the Hedgehog series released by SEGA, as well as numerous spin-off comics, five animated shows, and an animated OVA. Not even the Sonic franchise thinks Sonic is a relevant character anymore.

Goombas, known in Japan as Kuribo, are a species of sentient mushrooms from Nintendo's Mario franchise. Nobody really cares about him despite all the character development he has been getting in recent games.

Birdo is a dinosaur that is well known for her (or his) confused Gender. It was originally stated that Birdo was a male who believed he was a female, but this was changed in later games. Birdo is commonly referred to as a girl, however, they are in a relationship with Yoshi. Birdo first appeared in Super Mario Bros. 2 as an enemy towards the player. She is now included in many spinoff titles of the Mario franchise as a playable character, including the Mario Kart series and the Mario Party series. What she isn't even a bird come on Nintendo.
Birdo is probably the only one on this list that I can agree with.

He is the most iconic character in video game history and is Nintendo's unofficial mascot. His franchise has grown to be the most successful video game franchise of all time. Nobody would play as Mario if given another choice. When was the last time you played as Mario in Super Mario Bros. 2 or Mario Kart?

Baby Bowser, referred to simply as Bowser, is the infant version of Mario's arch-nemesis Bowser, and the main antagonist of the Yoshi's Island series. He is way too similar to Bowser Jr.
