Top Ten Worst Humongous Entertainment Junior Adventure Games

Humoungus Entertainment is one of my all-time favourite video game companies, they used to make children's point and click adventure games back in the 90s and they made excellent video game series like Freddi Fish, Putt-Putt and Pajama Sam that made my childhood, especially the Junior Adventure games. So..., why not make a list about it? Well I did the best games so now the worst ones. Keep in mind I only dislike two games here. With that being said here it is.
The Top Ten
1 Putt-Putt: Pep's Birthday

This is the only HE game that I legitimately don't like, at all. Now this was the seventh installment and ever since Freddi Fish 5 HE's games weren't good anymore due to Atari I believe. This is one of the worst of the worst, not only is the story is rehash on Fatty Bear's Birthday's Suprise, the voice acting is terrible and the setting is yet agian Cartown but this time it's actually boring. Unoriginality and low-quality at best.

2 Pajama Sam 4: Life Is Rough When You Lose Your Stuff!

Honestly people will disagree but the Pajama Sam series has always been the worst HE video game series. I don't hate it but none of the games reach masterpiece tier in my opinion, despite what everyone else thinks. Pajama Sam 4 was released at the same time as Putt Putt 7 and it has the same terrible graphics and lip-syncing. However I did grow up with this game and it does have some originality, I mean it would've been pretty good if only it used the same engine and graphics as the other HE games. This game is just ok, but slightly nostalgic.

3 Putt-Putt Travels Through Time

Lots of people love this game a lot and will be angry to see this in the top four of a WORST list of all lists. But honestly it really isn't all that great. Many people seem to love this one but I couldn't get into it as much as other people. The whole time-travelling plot isn't what I'd go for and the puzzles were complicated at best. I don't like time-travelling and I didn't grow up with it either, I played it first in my teens. It's still a decent game (ironic how it came before one of the best Putt-Putt games).

4 Putt-Putt Joins the Parade

Maybe unfair as this game was the first HE game ever created and spawned all other games. But looking objectively it has NOT aged well. I like it but it's one of the weaker HE games by far. The graphics made Cartown Zoo look kinda underwhelming and the plot is a bit generic. No climax or satisfying ending. It's also very short and thus is why it's so low on the list.

5 Pajama Sam: No Need to Hide When It's Dark Outside

Oh boy..., this is most people's favourite HE game of all time. Unfortunately I played it a little late in my childhood. But..., I like this game too! It was the original Pajama Sam that started it all and the setting is great and so is the story. I like the dark and creepy athmosphere with the forest and river but I'm not really a fan of Darkness' house. It's just weird and ugly. So it stays on this worst list, unfortunately but I think it's a good game.

6 Pajama Sam 3: You Are What You Eat From Your Head to Your Feet

I think the Pajama Sam sequels (excluding 4) are pretty awesome games that wake up a lot of nostalgia. The second one was the first one I played and I got three three years or so later and I have lots of nostalgia and I adore the dark setting here. It's got a purple aura and I like the whole candy / food theme of it. It's really great. The only real flaws I can find is that some of the characters are not very good and some of the other areas you can explore via the heart ain't very interesting. It's mostly the beginning that I love.

7 Putt-Putt Saves the Zoo

This is a classic and fan-favourite. Most people love this game a lot and see it as a childhood favourite. I played this game as well as a child a lot, although it was my least favourite of the three Putt Putt games I played (others being Race and Circus). Reason being that it's a lot shorter and less interesting due to no alternate paths: every gameplay plays out the same and there isn't any interesting endgame. But..., it's still awesome.

8 Spy Fox 3: Operation Ozone

I got this game this christmas (2019) and I've been very eager to test it out and it didn't disappoint me. I knew it wouldn't hold up to Spy Fox 2 but it was better than the first installment. This game probably had the most original story of the bunch and most original villain as well. Poodles Galore, a fashion enthusiast is planning on depleting the world's ozone layer and use it to create a special type of sunscreen that can withstand the sun's rays and become rich. She is the most evil HE villain from what I've seen and came the closest to actually killing someone and causing a mass extinction. Unfortunately I'm not a fan of her because her voice..., ugh. So loud and annoying. But she's decent overall. One thing I like about the game is how you can travel to different parts of the world and all of them are necessary to go to. There's north american streets, south american jungles, african deserts and an asian lake. It's a nice addition in my opinion. I think the puzzles were ...more

9 Pajama Sam 2: Thunder and Lightening Aren't So Frightening

Arguably the best of the Pajama Sam series. It was the first one I played so it's kinda special for me and I like the factory setting very much. There were tons of awesomne puzzles and it had great minigames too. So many memories from it, such as the seed machine, the board minigame, riding the elevator, etc. Well, the athmosphere is very bright unlike the other games but eh who cares it's still the best Pajama Sam game in my opinion.

10 Spy Fox in Dry Cereal

This game is just downright awesome in my opinion. While the first installment of Spy Fox is on the list, keep in mind that there only are two HE games that aren't very good. This game has three different paths to begin with, all of which are incredibly varied which offers different experiences every time, something I really like. The reason this game is my least favourite of the trilogy is that the setting isn't as interesting as the other games. Greece and greek isles are nice but I'm not really a fan of that southern europe climate, it's too warm. The villain is more silly than serious as well. Not that that's a problem, just pointing out. So yeah. Still awesome video game though.
