A news reporter who in the first movie ties to cover up her nerdyness due to others mocking her inelegance as she changes her appearance to be more accepted by others until Flint convinces her not to hide who she really is and embrace her smartness despite what other might think, in the sequel she's the first to volunteer to help Flint in his mission assigned by Chester V and the first to realize that the food animals aren't really dangerous and that they should be studying them rather then treat them as horrible burdens.

I love her. I know it flint lockwood's movie. but I like sam a little bit more.

The main protagonist who wants to be a great inventor however his inventions almost always backfire until his latest invention which converts water into food actually becomes a success and of course Flint lets his success go to his head that he begins ignoring the obvious dangers that his machine is creating and when his machine goes out of control he becomes determine to shut down the machine despite the obvious danger, in the sequel he is tasked by his hero Chester V to find his machine again and shut it down or so he thinks as once again Flint is manipulated by Chester V into carrying out his plan despite his friends objection.

I feel so bad for him, his dad never give's his any credit for anything.

I like him because I honestly find him pretty relatable

The authority figure of Swallow Falls who takes his job real serious as he constantly has his eyes on Flint Lockwood making sure he doesn't do anything to cause trouble for the citizens of Swallow Falls and despite his tough exterior he's shown to be a very caring father to his son Cal.

Main villain of the second movie who tricks Flint into inserting one of his USB device into the FLDSMDFR so he will have full control of the machine so he can use the food animals for his newest food bar

I didn't like him.

Sam's handy cameraman and a man of a thousand talents aside from being a cameraman he's also a doctor and at times a chef.

Flint's father who in the first movie really doesn't understand his son like his late wife and tries to get Flint to give up on his crazy inventions and work at the tackle shop with him, and while everyone is happy with Flint'
s food machine Tim is the only one who realizes the possible dangers that Flint's machine is causing to the island though Flint is too caught up with his new popularity to notice, and while he and Flint have a rocky relathionship by the end of the movie he does come around and be a bit more accepting of his son.

An obnoxious and self centered guy whose been living off his fame as Baby Brent for years who at the beginning acts like a total douche to Flint before losing his spotlight to him and then having an identity crises before deciding to help Flint and Sam to stop Flint's machine.

Flint's mother who was pretty much the only one who ever really understood Flint's desire to be an inventor.

The typical corrupt mayor who takes advantage of Flint's machine to make Swallow Falls great again and make himself even greater even if it means disregarding the possible danger Flint's machine is causing with the food over mutating and eventually going out of control creating a a massive food storm as he passes all the blame on Flint before leaving everyone else in the dust as he leaves the island.
