Top 10 Albums from 2020 Who Had the Biggest Chance to Be Nominated (And Win) Album of the Year at the 2021 Grammy Awards
This is a list created to predict which albums released from October of 2019 to September of 2020 can be nominated at the grammy awards of 2021 for Album of the Year, consider the following things:1. The album needs to be (obviously) good, this depends of your own preferences which is fine but also keep in mind the next things
2. It needs to be critically acclaimed, now some albums don't necessarily are liked by everyone (see that Cardi B album that won for rap album of the year in 2019), but since the grammys care more about critics opinion than the public opinion, it's kinda obvious they are gonna pick some critical darlings
3. It needs to be friendly with the listener, i wish i could include Fiona Apple's Fetch the Bolt Cutters but let's be realistic, the grammys don't have enough courage to nominate albums who are really experimental or abrasive, no matter how acclaimed they got, if that would be the case Radiohead would have swapped in '98, '01, '09 and '17
4. DON'T get overly aggressive with other people's choices, get that the picks here are personal and judging by the concept the grammys have for Album of the Year
As much as I don't care for the Grammys and find them pretty worthless, this album is one case where I'd actually be happy if it ended up winning. A really solid pop record which stands above a lot of modern pop.
Just a bit worried that 'Don't Start Now' might win record of the year, when that wasn't the best song from the album.
Another big choice for the awards, in my opinion one of the Weeknd's most solid albums
I like how you provided a clear explanation of everything to consider especially the last part. The only thing I might note is that the title is not quite right because albums from the last couple months of 2019 are eligible. Also it says a lot that this album had only been out a few days when you made the list.
Juice WRLD's last project since his disease (R.I.P) and it truly honors his legacy, maybe not the biggest fan or my first choice to RAOTY, but I think a fair one
