Top 10 4D Attractions In Theme ParksMegaSoulhero I went to Universal Studios recently and I never realized how many 4D attractions it has. It inspired me to make this list.
The Top Ten
Universal Studios has really outdone themselves with this ride! I'm not a fan of Harry Potter, but this is one of the best rides I have ever ridden in my life! Just like Ratatouille and Transformers, you're in a vehicle that moves from screen to screen. Unlike those rides, this one has animatronics that play a big part in the ride. Also, the vehicles that you ride in are so confusing but awesome. They're designed to make it feel like you are flying. There was a moment when it felt like we were gonna go upside down. This ride is located in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. The one in Orlando, however, cannot be considered as a 4D attraction since it's not even in 3D. So yeah. If you want to experience it in full 4D, then I suggest you make a trip to Los Angeles. This ride is very amazing! Also, the line moves very fast. By that I mean the line literally doesn't stop. This is definitely a ride worth checking out! - MegaSoulhero
The Michael Bay Transformers movies suck, but this ride is absolutely great! You ride in a moving vehicle and join in on a battle to defeat Megatron. Just like the Ratatouille ride, this one takes you to different 3D screens. And just like every Universal Studios Hollywood ride, you get sprayed with water at least once. Honestly! Last time I went to Universal Studios, I got wet on every ride I went on! Even the Mummy ride! This isn't SeaWorld! Anyway, I absolutely love the Transformers ride. It is definitely more than meets the eye. - MegaSoulhero
A movie that takes place in Paris gets its own ride in a Disney theme park in Paris. Genius! This ride is amazing because it uses trackless technology. Also, the vehicles that you ride in go to different 3D screens and it feels like you are actually in a kitchen and the size of a rat. There are also some large props inside the ride that represent giant versions of things you would see in a kitchen. This is the first trackless ride to also be a 4D attraction. - MegaSoulhero
Terminator Genisys was stupid! Anyway, the Terminator 4D attraction was one of the best things about Universal Studios. This isn't your ordinary 4D attraction. It is a mixture of 3D and live actors. When I was a kid, this attraction scared me like crazy because of all the loud noises. I don't get freaked out about loud noises anymore. After watching various videos on YouTube, I can see that this was a very awesome show! Too bad it closed and got replaced by Despicable Me. I like that movie but the only thing people seem to talk about from the movie is the minions. It's a good thing the Terminator attraction got a standing ovation on it's last day. - MegaSoulhero
I love this show and was devastated to see both Hollywood and Orlando close theirs.
It took me way too long to realize that philharmagic is a combination between philharmonic and magic. Mickey's Philharmagic is a show in which Donald Duck loses Mickey's sorcerer hat and goes through different musical numbers from Disney movies. Wait, doesn't that hat belong to Yen Sid? How did Mickey get his hands on it again? The songs Donald goes to are Be Our Guest, Part of Your World, Just Can't Wait to be King, You Can Fly, and A Whole New World. By the way, Tinker Bell shows up and gives Donald pixie dust so he can fly. Why would a duck need pixie dust if ducks can already fly? At the end of the show, Donald gets shot out of a tuba and crashes in a wall in the theater. That's funny but it's also a rip-off of Shrek 4-D. This show is very amazing! Too bad it's only in Disney World. It should also be put in Disneyland. - MegaSoulhero
Ever wanted to take a ride in a Star Speeder and travel the galaxy? Star Tours is the ride for you. Since the original wasn't in 3D, I won't talk about that one. The newer version Star Tours is awesome. C-3PO takes us on a journey to different planets, unintentionally. Darth Vader is looking for a rebel spy which turns out to be one of the guests on the ride. I've been on this ride many times I have never been chosen as the rebel spy. There are many different ride combinations so each time you go on this ride, there's a chance you will fly to a different planet and have a different ending. Last year, they added the planet Jakku and BB-8 and Finn even make an appearance. Wait a minute, if this ride takes place between Episode 3 and 4, then how are Finn and BB-8 there? It also doesn't help that Darth Vader appears at the beginning. Is the Star Speeder able to time travel? - MegaSoulhero
It really is. Anyway, this 4D attraction is based on the forgettable Pixar film, A Bug's Life. Flik shows us the talents of certain bugs such as a tarantula that can fire acorns with deadly accuracy, a termite-nator that terminates intruders, and a stink bug who doesn't talk for some reason. But unfortunately, Hopper (one of the best animatronics I have ever seen) comes in wanting to get revenge on the humans. Wait, how is Hopper there if he died in A Bug's Life? This show has some great in theater effects. You get sprayed with water, you get hit with air, you get poked in the back (which is painful), and black widow spiders come down from the ceiling. And who can forget the bugs crawling under your butt at the end of the show? I love seeing people's reactions to that. - MegaSoulhero
I miss this show. Muppet*Vision 3D was one of the last things that Jim Henson worked on. This 4D show doesn't have much of a story but it mostly just shows you how cool 3D is. They also use animatronics in the theater. For example, Statler and Waldorf appear on the side making fun of the show as usual. Bean Bunny also appears in the theater, even though the animatronic looks nothing like him. By the way, why wasn't Bean Bunny in the 2011 Muppets movie? He's my favorite. There are also animatronic penguins and a Sweetums costumed character. Muppet*Vision 3D closed in 2014 and was replaced by a Frozen sing-along show which closed last month due to a Frozen musical being put in the Hyperion Theater. The theater that previous held Muppets is now used for movie previews like Alice Through the Looking Glass. Also, Muppets is never coming back. - MegaSoulhero
Who lives in a pineapple under the sea? SpongeBob SquarePants! I don't know which SpongeBob 4D attraction I like the most. So I'll talk about them both.
In the first one, SpongeBob tries to put a pickle on a Krabby Patty but it gets stolen by a robot version of Patrick on a pogo stick who has weapons such as a claw, a sharp blade, laser eyes, and the most dangerous of all, a paddle ball. So SpongeBob goes chasing him around Bikini Bottom. If the Chum Bucket is right across from the Krusty Krab, why did it take so long for robot Patrick to get there?
As for the other 4D SpongeBob attraction, Plankton steals Jellyfish. My favorite part of the attraction is when the Flying Dutchman sends SpongeBob and Patrick to a special room to be tortured. This part is cool because each time you see this, there's a chance that the torture room will be different. One of the Flying Dutchman's forms of torture is a roller disco. That is hilarious. - MegaSoulhero
Wahhh I want to ride
Formerly located in Tomorrowland at Disneyland is Captain EO starring Michael Jackson. This show was made when Michael Jackson was still black. Captain EO is about a space crew who go looking for the supreme leader (played by Angelica Houston). Of course since this is Michael Jackson we're talking about, he defeats her with the power of music. This show is directed by Francis Ford Coppola and written by George Lucas. There are things in this that kinda remind me of Star Wars. Also, the design of the Supreme Leader served as inspiration for the Borg Queen from Star Trek: The First Contact. Star Trek sucks by the way. - MegaSoulhero
Come on, you guys haven't added this already? DarKastle is THE BEST 4D ride. - Malladus
Sadly they shut it down in 2018.
Seen in 3-D with special effects and simulation.
This ride located in Rainbow Magicland near Rome puts you into an ancient temple and allows you to battle minotaurs, dragons, and other beasts.
Good ride for the kids
This is the best theme park attraction ever! The thrills, the themes, the queue, and the Voldemort! It's all so good!
